1. Allgemeine Vorgaben
1.1 Allgemeine Hinweise
Diese Inbetriebnahmeanleitung gilt für die Geräte VAS 6154 und VAS 6154A und enthält die
erforderlichen Informationen für die Verwendung des Diagnose-Interfaces, im Folgenden als VAS 6154
bezeichnet.
1.2 Grundlegende Sicherheitshinweise

Dieses Symbol weist auf nützliche Hinweise hin, die Ihnen die Arbeit mit dem VAS 6154
erleichtern.

Dieses Symbol markiert wichtige Hinweise, die auf jeden Fall zu befolgen sind, um
Fehlfunktionen oder Schäden zu vermeiden.

1.3 Sicherheitshinweise

Diese Inbetriebnahmeanleitung muss stets leserlich und vollständig am Einsatzort zur

Verfügung stehen.
Die Inbetriebnahmeanleitung ist unbedingt zu beachten.
Die Inbetriebnahme darf nur von Personal vorgenommen werden, das mit der
Inbetriebnahmeanleitung vertraut ist.

Öffnen Sie das Gerät nicht und nehmen Sie in Schadensfällen keine Reparaturen vor.

Beschädigte Geräte, Verbinder und Kabel sind nicht für die Verwendung zugelassen.
Verwenden Sie nur Originalkabel.

1.4 Hinweise zu Handhabung, Lagerung und Transport

Detaillierte Kenntnisse und das technisch korrekte Umsetzen der in dieser Inbetriebnahmeanleitung
beschriebenen Sicherheitshinweise und Funktionen sind Voraussetzung für die Sicherheit des Betriebes.
 Die Sicherheit des Produktes setzt sachgemäßen Transport, sachgerechte Lagerung, Installation
und Bedienung voraus.
 Die Inbetriebnahme darf nur von qualifiziertem, mit der Inbetriebnahmeanleitung vertrautem
Personal vorgenommen werden.
 Die Geräte sind nur für den zugelassenen Einsatzweck zu verwenden.
Bei Beachtung der Hantierungsvorschriften und der sicherheitstechnischen Hinweise gehen vom Produkt
im Normalfall keine Gefahren bezüglich Sach- oder Personenschäden aus.
Für den Anwendungsfall ist folgendes zu beachten:

 Allgemein anerkannte Regeln der Technik

 Es ist nur die Software zu verwenden, die vom Hersteller für den Anwendungsfall vorgesehen ist

 1.5 Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das VAS 6154 darf nur in technisch einwandfreiem Zustand, sowie bestimmungsgemäß, sicherheits- und
gefahrenbewusst installiert (siehe Kapitel 2 der Bedienungsanleitung) und benutzt werden. Jegliche
andere oder darüber hinausgehende Benutzung gilt als nicht bestimmungsgemäß. Für hieraus
resultierende Schäden haftet der Hersteller nicht. An- und Umbauten seitens Dritter dürfen nur in
Absprache mit dem Hersteller vorgenommen werden.
Zur bestimmungsgemäßen Verwendung gehören auch das Lesen der Bedienungsanleitung des VAS 6154
sowie das Einhalten der dort enthaltenen Hinweise - insbesondere der Sicherheitshinweise.
Von der Gewährleistung ausgeschlossen sind u. a. Schäden jeglicher Art, die hervorgerufen wurden
durch:
 Gebrauchsspuren, die auf grob fahrlässige oder vorsätzliche Benutzung außerhalb der
Spezifikation zurückzuführen sind:
o Verformung
o Kratzer
o Einkerbungen
o Bruch
 Bauliche Veränderungen (z.B. Bohrungen am Gehäuse)
 Zusätzlich angebrachte Kennzeichnungen, die nicht rückstandsfrei entfernbar sind
 Fehlende Teile des Gerätes
 Mutwillig entfernte Beschriftung, Aufkleber und/oder gebrochene Schutzsiegel
 Zerstörte Elektronik als Folge von unsachgemäßer Verwendung nicht geeigneter Stromquellen
 Brand und Schmauchspuren, die durch einen externen Brand verursacht wurden
 Flüssigkeit im Geräteinneren
Des Weiteren sind optische Aufarbeitungen von der Gewährleistung ausgeschlossen.

 Packen Sie das VAS 6154 aus und überprüfen Sie alle Komponenten auf Vollständigkeit
und mechanische Beschädigungen.

3. Voraussetzungen zur Installation

3.1 Hardwarevoraussetzungen
 Diagnosegerätelinie VAS 6160x, 6150x
 CD-ROM-Laufwerk (sofern kein USB Stick mitgeliefert wurde)

Sollte das Diagnosegerät keinen Industrie-USB-Anschluss besitzen, wird der Adapter

VAS 5055/4 (ASE 405 258 00 000) benötigt, um das VAS 6154 per USB anzuschließen.

3.2 Softwarevoraussetzungen
 Betriebssystem Microsoft Windows 7 (64Bit) oder Windows 10 (64Bit)
 Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 oder höher
 Offboard Diagnostic Information System Service ab Version 4.x.x oder Offboard Diagnostic
Information System Engineering ab Version 7.1.x
4. Installation und Einrichtung des VAS 6154 in drei Schritten
I. Manuelle Treiberinstallation
Wenn auf Ihrem Rechner kein Offboard Diagnostic Information System installiert ist, können Sie den
Treiber für die VAS 6154 Basisstation von der beiliegenden CD oder USB Stick manuell installieren (Kapitel
2.2 in der Bedienungsanleitung). Dies muss vor dem erstmaligen Anschluss des VAS6154 oder der
Basisstation an das Diagnosegerät erfolgen.
II. Anschluss und Installation der Basisstation
Die Basisstation wird über das mitgelieferte Y-USB-Kabel an das
Diagnosegerät angeschlossen.

Im Folgenden wird die Installation der Basisstation auf dem Windows 7-Betriebssystem beschrieben.

III. Anschluss und Konfiguration des VAS 6154 über die Basisstation
Beim VAS 6154 stehen dem Anwender vier verschiedene Arten der Konnektivität zur Verfügung:

Eine zu konfigurierende Bluetooth-Verbindung auf dem Diagnosegerät zur Nutzung eines

VAS5054A ist unabhängig von den hier beschriebenen Aktionen. Diese VAS 5054A
Konfiguration kann bestehen bleiben und wird beim Anschluss dieses Funkkopfes wieder
aktiv. VAS6154 Geräte sind über die Basisstation zu konfigurieren.

Konfigurationsreihenfolge) entnehmen Sie bitte dem Kapitel 2.4 in der Bedienungsanleitung:

mitgelieferten CD-ROM / USB-Stick oder ist über die ODIS-Service Installation abrufbar.

5. Checkliste für WLAN-Betrieb (Erste Schritte)
 Die Konfiguration und das Einbinden des Diagnose-Interfaces VAS 6154 in die Werkstatt-WLAN-
Infrastruktur sollte durch einen IT-Verantwortlichen mit Netzwerkkenntnissen erfolgen.
 Vor der Installation muss folgendes sichergestellt werden:
o Das WLAN Netz im Betrieb ist für den Einsatz weiterer WLAN–Teilnehmer ausreichend
ausgelegt und durch eine zertifizierte IT Firma eingerichtet.
o Im Betriebsnetzwerk stehen noch freie IP-Adressen zur Verfügung.
o Das WLAN Netz unterstützt WPA2-Verschlüsselung (Radius Server Authentifizierung
bevorzugt).
o Die Einstellung der Firewall sperrt keine Broadcast-Dienste (siehe dazu auch Kapitel
5.2.3 der Bedienungsanleitung).
 Treiberversion auf dem Diagnosegerät prüfen (bei Neuauslieferung bereits enthalten): Intel®
PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software 15.X.X.X erforderlich
 Das Diagnose-Interface VAS 6154 kann nur jeweils in einem WLAN-Netzwerk (SSID)
kommunizieren.
 Ist das Diagnosegerät VAS 6160x oder VAS 6150x bereits über WLAN angebunden, kann das
Diagnose-Interface VAS 6154 nur im Infrastruktur-Modus betrieben werden
 Die Voreinstellung beim Start für Infrastruktur- bzw. Direktverbindungs-Modus kann im Web-
Browser vorgenommen werden.
 Eine Bluetooth-Anbindung kann parallel erfolgen bzw. eine vorhandene Bluetooth-Konfiguration
(z.B. VAS 5054) muss nicht verändert zu werden.
 Bei Probefahrten muss das Diagnose-Interface VAS 6154 auf Direktverbindung eingestellt sein
(Probefahrtmodus Offboard Diagnostic Information System Service).
6. Werkseinstellungen wiederherstellen
Auf dem VAS 6154 können die Werkseinstellungen wieder hergestellt werden. Dies ist zum Beispiel nötig,
wenn das VAS 6154 fälschlicherweise so konfiguriert wurde, dass es nicht mehr erreichbar ist.
Um die Werkseinstellungen wiederherzustellen, muss, während das VAS 6154 in die Basisstation gesteckt
wird, der Taster ca. 10 Sekunden lang gedrückt werden, bis ein akustisches Bestätigungssignal ertönt.
Eine LED-Animation zeigt die Durchführung des Wiederherstellungsprozesses an. Das Wiederherstellen
ist abgeschlossen, wenn sich das VAS 6154 wieder im normalen Betriebsmodus befindet.
Es sind jetzt erneut alle Schritte wie bei einer Erstkonfiguration des VAS 6154 durchzuführen.

Alle dynamischen Änderungen am System gehen bei der Wiederherstellung der

Werkseinstellungen unwiderruflich verloren.

1. General guidelines
1.1 General remarks
These setup instructions is valid for devices VAS 6154 and VAS 6154A and contains the information
required to use of the diagnostic interface, in the following referred to as VAS 6154.
1.2 Basic safety instructions

This symbol indicates useful instructions which will make it easier for you to work with
the VAS 6154.

This symbol indicates important instructions which are to be heeded at all times in order
to avoid malfunctions or damage.

1.3 Safety instructions

These setup instructions must always be kept available in a legible and complete
condition at the location where the device is being used.
The setup instructions must be observed without fail.
The device may only be put into first-time operation by personnel who are familiar with
the setup instructions.

Do not open the device or perform repairs if it gets damaged.

Damaged devices, connectors and cables are not approved for use. Only use OEM cables.

1.4 Notes on handling, storage and transport

A detailed knowledge and the technically correct application of the safety instructions and functions
described in these setup instructions are essential for safe operation of the device.
 Proper transport, storage, installation and operation are essential for the safety of the
product.
 The device may only be put into first-time operation by trained personnel who are familiar
with the setup instructions.
 The devices may only be used for their approved purpose.
This product normally poses no hazard with regard to property damage or personal injury if the handling
and safety instructions are complied with.

 1.5 Intended use
The VAS 6154 may only be installed and operated if it is in a technically perfect condition, as well as in
accordance with the regulations pertaining to proper use, safety and risk (see Chapter 2 of the operating
manual). Any other or further use is deemed to be improper use. The manufacturer will not be liable for
any resultant damage. Additions and modifications by third parties may only be carried out in
consultation with the manufacturer.
Proper use also includes reading the operating manual for the VAS 6154, as well as compliance with the
notes and remarks contained in them, in particular the safety instructions.
The warranty excludes, among other things, damage of any kind caused by:
 wear attributable to grossly negligent or intentional use not covered by the specifications:
o deformation
o scratches
o indentations
o fractures
 structural alterations (e.g. drill holes in the housing)
 additionally attached labels that cannot be removed without leaving a residue
 missing device parts
 deliberately removed lettering, labelling and/or a manipulated protective seal
 destroyed electronics as a result of the improper use of inappropriate power sources
 traces of fire and smoke that were caused by an external fire
 fluid inside the device
Optical alterations are also not covered by the warranty.

completeness and mechanical damage.

3. Installation requirements
3.1 Hardware requirements
 Diagnostic unit family VAS 6160x, 6150x
 CD-ROM drive (if there is no USB stick included in the transport case)

If the diagnostic unit does not have an industrial standard USB port, the VAS 5055/4
(ASE 405 258 00 000) adapter will be required to connect the VAS 6154 via USB.

3.2 Software requirements

 Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit) or Windows 10 (64-bit) operating system
 Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 or later
 Offboard Diagnostic Information System Service, version 4.x.x or later or Offboard Diagnostic
Information System Engineering, version 7.1.x
4. Installing and setting up the VAS 6154 in three steps
I. Manual driver installation
If an Offboard Diagnostic Information System is not installed on your computer, you can install the driver
for the VAS 6154 docking station manually from the accompanying CD or USB Stick (Chapter 2.2 of the
operating manual).
II. Connecting and installing the docking station
The docking station is connected to the diagnostic unit using the
supplied Y-USB cable.

Both USB plugs have to be connected to the

diagnostic unit. Make sure that the Y-USB cable
is firmly connected.
How to install the docking station under Windows 7 is described below.

III. Connecting and configuring the VAS 6154 at the docking station
The VAS 6154 features four different connection methods:

A Bluetooth connection on the diagnostic unit for using a VAS 5054A is configured
independently of the steps described here. This VAS 5054A configuration can be retained.
It becomes active again when this wireless head is connected. VAS6154 device has to be
configured using the docking station.

For details about the initial setup and how to configure each module (Table 1: Configuration sequence),
please refer to Chapter 2.4 of the operating manual:

or downloaded using the ODIS Service installation routine.

5. Check list for WLAN operation (first steps)
 The VAS 6154 diagnosis interface should be configured and integrated in the workshop's WLAN
structure by an IT technician who is familiar with the network.
 Before installing the diagnosis interface, make sure that
o the WLAN network is capable of handling additional wireless devices and is installed by
a certified IT company,
o free IP addresses are still available in the workshop network,
o the WLAN network supports WPA2 encryption (Radius server authentication preferred),
o the firewall settings are not blocking broadcast services (refer to Chapter 5.2.3 of the
operating manual for more details).
 Check the driver version on the diagnostic unit (already installed on new units): Intel®
PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software 15.X.X.X is required.
 The VAS 6154 diagnosis interface can only communicate in one WLAN network (SSID).
 If the VAS 6160x or VAS 6150x diagnostic unit is already connected to the WLAN network, the
VAS 6154 diagnosis interface can only be run in Infrastructure mode.
 The default setting for starting the unit in Infrastructure or Access Point mode can be configured
in the web browser.
 A parallel Bluetooth connection can be configured, respectively an existing Bluetooth
configuration (e.g. for the VAS 5054) does not need to be altered.
 For test drives, the VAS 6154 diagnosis interface has to be set up for an access point connection
(Offboard Diagnostic Information System Service test drive mode).
6. Restoring the factory settings
The factory settings can be restored on the VAS 6154. This is necessary, for example, if the device has
been configured incorrectly so that it is no longer accessible.
To restore the factory settings, press the button on the VAS 6154 while plugging the VAS 6154 into the
docking station until an acoustic confirmation tone is emitted. This can take up to 10 seconds.
An LED animation indicates that the restore process is in progress. The factory settings have been
completely restored when the VAS 6154 returns to the normal operating mode.
It is now necessary to repeat all the steps for an initial configuration.

All dynamic changes made to the system are permanently lost when the factory settings
are restored.

VAS 6154 dans ce qui suit.
1.2 Consignes fondamentales de sécurité

1.4 Remarques concernant la manipulation, le stockage et le transport

Les conditions préalables à la sécurité lors du fonctionnement impliquent non seulement la connaissance
détaillée des consignes de sécurité et des fonctions décrites dans ces instructions de mise en service,
mais également leur application correcte dans la pratique.
 La sécurité du produit présuppose un transport, un stockage, une installation et une
manipulation adéquats.
 La mise en service ne doit être effectuée que par un personnel qualifié ayant pris
connaissance des instructions de mise en service.

(voir chapitre 2 du manuel d'utilisation). Toute autre utilisation est considérée comme étant non
conforme à sa destination. Le fabricant ne peut être tenu responsable des dommages qui pourraient en
résulter. Les transformations et ajouts effectués par une tierce personne ne sont possibles qu'avec
l'accord du fabricant.
Pour une utilisation en bonne et due forme, il est également impératif de lire l'intégralité du manuel
d'utilisation de l'interface VAS 6154, ainsi que d'en respecter les instructions, et tout particulièrement les
consignes de sécurité qui y sont contenues.
Sont entre autres exclus de la garantie les dommages de tout genre provoqués par :
 des traces d'usure suite à une utilisation non conforme à la spécification, et ce de manière
négligente ou intentionnelle :
o déformation
o rayures
o impacts
o fêlure
 des transformations (trous dans le boîtier par ex.)
 des marquages ajoutés, impossibles à enlever sans laisser de traces
 des pièces manquantes sur l'appareil
 une inscription, un autocollant et/ou sceau de protection volontairement effacé ou retiré
 une électronique endommagée suite à l'utilisation non conforme de sources de courant non
appropriées
 des traces de combustion et de fumée provoquées par un feu externe
 du liquide à l'intérieur de l'appareil
Par ailleurs, les transformations esthétiques sont elles aussi exclues de la garantie.

s'assurer qu'ils sont au complet et n'ont subi aucun dommage.

3. Conditions requises pour l'installation

3.1 Conditions requises pour le matériel
 Gamme des outils de diagnostic VAS 6160x, 6150x
 Lecteur de CD-ROM (si aucune clé USB n'est présente dans le boîtier de transport)
Si l'outil de diagnostic n'est pas doté de port USB, l'adaptateur VAS 5055/4
(ASE 405 258 00 000) est nécessaire pour raccorder l'interface de diagnostic
VAS 6154 par le biais de la clé USB.

3.2 Configuration logicielle requises

4. Installation et configuration de l'interface VAS 6154 en trois étapes

I. Installation manuelle du pilote
Si le système de rédaction des diagnostics Offboard Diagnostic Information System est installé sur
l'ordinateur, il est possible d'installer manuellement le pilote pour la station de base VAS 6154 à partir du
CD-ROM fourni (chapitre 2.2 du manuel d'utilisation).
II. Branchement et installation de la station de base
La station de base est raccordée à l'outil de diagnostic par le biais du câble
USB en Y fourni.

L'utilisateur dispose de quatre possibilités pour connecter l'interface VAS 6154 :

Les actions décrites ici n'ont aucun rapport avec la connexion Bluetooth à configurer sur
l'outil de diagnostic pour l'utilisation d'une interface de diagnostic VAS5054A. Cette
configuration VAS 5054A peut rester et sera à nouveau active au branchement de la tête
à haute fréquence. Les appareils VAS 6154 doivent être configurés via la station de base.

 Le manuel d'utilisation traduit dans 23 langues se trouve sur le CD-ROM fourni ou peut
être téléchargé en installant le service ODIS.

5. Liste de contrôle pour le mode WLAN (premiers pas)

 La configuration et l'intégration de l'interface de diagnostic VAS 6154 dans la structure WLAN de
l'atelier devraient être effectuées par un responsable des technologies de l'information (TI)
disposant de bonnes connaissances réseau.
 Vérifier les points suivants avant l'installation :
o Le WLAN dans l'entreprise est suffisant pour l'utilisation d'autres appareils WLAN et est
mis en place par une entreprise informatique certifiée.
o Il existe encore des adresses IP libres dans le réseau de l'entreprise.
o Le réseau WLAN prend en charge le cryptage WPA2.
o Le réglage du pare-feu ne doit pas bloquer les services de radiodiffusion (cf. à ce sujet le chapitre
5.2.3 du manuel d'utilisation).
 Vérification de la version du pilote sur l'appareil de diagnostic (déjà inclue dans les nouvelles
livraisons) : logiciel de Wi-Fi Intel® PROSet/Wireless 15.X.X.X nécessaire
 L'interface de diagnostic VAS 6154 ne peut communiquer que dans un réseau WLAN (SSID).
 Si l'appareil de diagnostic VAS 6160x ou VAS 6150x est connecté via WLAN, il n'est possible de
faire fonctionner l'interface de diagnostic VAS 6154 qu'en mode Infrastructure.
 Il est possible de procéder au démarrage au préréglage du mode Infrastructure ou Connexion
directe dans le navigateur web.
 Une connexion Bluetooth peut avoir lieu parallèlement et il n'est pas nécessaire de modifier une
configuration Bluetooth existante (par ex. VAS 5054).
 Pour les essais sur route, il faut régler l'interface de diagnostic VAS 6154 en mode Connexion
directe (mode Essai sur route Service Offboard Diagnostic Information System).
6. Réinitialisation des réglages d'usine
Les réglages d'usine peuvent être restaurés sur l'interface de diagnostic VAS 6154. Cela est, par exemple,
nécessaire si l’interface VAS 6154 a été mal configurée si bien qu'elle n'est plus joignable.
Pour rétablir les réglages d'usine, appuyer sur le bouton pendant environ 10 secondes pendant que l'on
enfiche l'interface de diagnostic VAS 6154 sur la station de base, et ce jusqu'à ce qu'un signal acoustique
retentisse.
Une animation sur des LED visualise le processus de réinitialisation. La réinitialisation est terminée
lorsque l'interface de diagnostic VAS 6154 retourne en mode de fonctionnement normal.
Effectuer à présent à nouveau toutes les étapes effectuées lors de la première configuration de l'interface
de diagnostic VAS 6154.

Toutes les modifications dynamiques réalisées sur le système sont définitivement

perdues dès lors que les réglages d'usine sont rétablis.

1. Aspectos generales
1.1 Indicaciones generales
Este manual de puesta en servicio es válido para los dispositivos VAS 6154 y VAS 6154A y contiene la
información necesaria para el uso de la interfaz de diagnóstico, denominada VAS 6154 a continuación.
1.2 Instrucciones de seguridad básicas

Este símbolo remite a las indicaciones convenientes que le facilitarán el trabajo con la
VAS 6154.

Este símbolo señala instrucciones importantes que deben seguirse siempre para evitar un

1.3 Instrucciones de seguridad

1.4 Instrucciones de manejo, almacenamiento y transporte

Para garantizar la seguridad de funcionamiento es indispensable poseer conocimientos detallados e
implementar de forma técnicamente correcta las instrucciones de seguridad y funciones contenidas en
las presentes instrucciones de puesta en funcionamiento.
 La seguridad del producto es inherente a un transporte, almacenamiento, instalación y manejo
adecuados.
 La puesta en funcionamiento solo puede ser realizada por personal cualificado que esté
familiarizado con el manual de puesta en funcionamiento.
 Los equipos solo podrán utilizarse para su uso previsto autorizado.
Por norma general, en caso de respetar las instrucciones de manejo y las instrucciones técnicas de
seguridad, el producto no representa peligro alguno ni para las personas ni para las cosas.
Durante su uso debe tenerse en cuenta lo siguiente:
 Las normas de seguridad nacionales
 Las normas nacionales de prevención de accidentes
 El estado de la técnica generalmente reconocido
 Las indicaciones de seguridad de estas instrucciones de puesta en funcionamiento y del manual
de instrucciones
 Las condiciones de funcionamiento especificadas de los equipos
 Los rótulos indicadores adicionales presentes sobre el equipo

 1.5 Uso conforme a lo previsto
La VAS 6154 solo puede instalarse y utilizarse si se encuentra en perfecto estado técnico y solo si tanto su
instalación como su uso se realizan de forma conforme a lo previsto y consciente de la seguridad y los
peligros (ver capítulo 2 del manual de instrucciones). Cualquier otro uso, o cualquier uso que vaya más
allá de lo aquí estipulado, se considerará un uso no conforme a lo previsto. El fabricante no se hace
responsable de cualquier daño ocasionado por un uso no conforme a lo previsto. Las ampliaciones o
modificaciones del equipo por parte de terceros solo podrán realizarse previo acuerdo con el fabricante.
El uso conforme a lo previsto también incluye la lectura del manual de instrucciones de la VAS 6154 y el
cumplimiento de las instrucciones que contiene, en especial de las instrucciones de seguridad.
Quedan excluidos de la garantía, entre otros, los daños de cualquier tipo originados por:
 Signos de uso atribuibles a una utilización imprudente o con ánimo de dolo sin tener en cuenta
las especificaciones:
o deformación
o arañazos
o muescas
o roturas
 modificaciones constructivas (p. ej. perforaciones en la carcasa)
 etiquetas que se hayan adherido de forma adicional y que no puedan eliminarse sin dejar

 piezas que falten en el equipo

sufrido daños mecánicos.

3. Requisitos para la instalación

3.1 Requisitos de hardware

Si el equipo de diagnosis no dispone de una conexión USB industrial, se necesitará el

adaptador VAS 5055/4 (ASE 405 258 00 000) para conectar la VAS 6154 mediante USB.

4. Instalación y configuración de la VAS 6154 en tres pasos
I. Instalación manual del controlador
Si no hay instalado en su ordenador ningún Offboard Diagnostic Information System, podrá instalar de
forma manual el controlador para la estación base de la VAS 6154 del CD adjunto (capítulo 2.2 del manual
de instrucciones).
II. Conexión e instalación de la estación base
La estación base se conecta al equipo de diagnosis a través del cable Y USB
incluido en el envío.

Los dos conectores USB deben conectarse al

equipo de diagnosis.
Asegúrese de que el cable Y-USB esté sujeto
firmemente.
A continuación se describe la instalación de la estación base en el sistema operativo Windows 7.

III. Conexión y configuración de la VAS 6154 a través de la estación base
El usuario de la VAS 6154 dispone de cuatro tipos de conectividad diferentes:

La conexión Bluetooth que se configura en el equipo de diagnosis para la utilización de

una VAS5054A es independiente de las acciones aquí descritas. Esta configuración de la
VAS 5054A puede conservarse y volver a activarse al conectar el dispositivo emisor. Los
dispositivos VAS6154 se deben configurar a través de la estación base.
Encontrará información más detallada sobre la primera puesta en servio y la configuración de cada
módulo (Tabla 1: Secuencia de configuración) en el capítulo 2.4 del manual de instrucciones:

puede consultarse mediante la instalación de ODIS Service.

5. Lista de comprobación para funcionamiento WLAN (primeros pasos)

 La configuración y la integración de la interfaz de diagnosis VAS 6154 en la infraestructura WLAN
del taller deberán ser llevadas a cabo por una persona con conocimientos de redes responsable
de las cuestiones informáticas.
 Antes de la instalación hay que asegurarse de lo siguiente:
o La red Wi-Fi en funcionamiento tiene la capacidad suficiente para admitir otros
dispositivos WLAN y está configurada por una empresa de TI certificada.
o Hay disponibles direcciones IP libres en la red de servicio.
o La red WLAN admite la codificación WPA2.
o La configuración del cortafuegos no bloquea los servicios de difusión (consultar al
respecto el capítulo 5.2.3 del manual de instrucciones).
 Comprobar la versión del controlador del equipo de diagnosis (ya incluido en caso de nuevo
envío): se requiere el software Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiFi 15.X.X.X
 La interfaz de diagnosis VAS 6154 únicamente puede comunicarse en una red WLAN-Netzwerk
(SSID).
 Si el equipo de diagnosis VAS 6160x o VAS 6150x ya está conectado a través de WLAN, la interfaz
de diagnosis VAS 6154 solamente puede funcionar en modo de infraestructura
 La configuración predeterminada para los modos de infraestructura o de conexión directa se
realiza en el navegador web.
 Puede establecerse una conexión Bluetooth paralela, o bien en caso de existir una configuración
Bluetooth (p. ej. VAS 5054) no es necesario modificarla.
 En caso de marcha de prueba la interfaz de diagnosis VAS 6154 tiene que estar en modo de
conexión directa (modo de marcha de prueba Offboard Diagnostic Information System Service).
6. Restablecer la configuración de fábrica
En la VAS 6154 es posible restaurar la configuración de fábrica. Esto puede ser necesario si, por ejemplo,
se configura erróneamente la VAS 6154 de forma que no se puede detectar.
Para restaurar la configuración de fábrica se debe mantener accionado unos 10 segundos el pulsador
mientras se conecta la VAS 6154 a la estación base hasta que se emite una señal acústica de
confirmación.
Una animación LED indica la ejecución del proceso de restauración. La restauración habrá concluido
cuando la VAS 6154 vuelva a encontrarse en modo de servicio normal.
Ahora deberán realizarse de nuevo los mismos los pasos de la primera configuración de la VAS 6154.

Todos los cambios dinámicos efectuados en el sistema se eliminan definitivamente al

restaurar la configuración de fábrica.
