Liverpool R.C. Archdiocesan Trustees Reg. Charity No. 232709

Quarant Ore : To mark the feast of Corpus Christi which we celebrate this weekend, our 40 hours of devotion before the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament begins with Mass on Friday evening at 7pm and runs continually through to Solemn Benediction on Sunday afternoon at 3pm. I encourage everyone, but especially the parents of our young children, to spend even a short period of time in silent prayer with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Feast of Sts Peter and Paul ; This feast of the two great Apostles of Rome is celebrated on Wednesday this week and is a Holyday. Mass will be at 9.15am (with the schoolchildren) and at 7.00pm There will be NO Eucharistic Service at 7.30am on Wednesday. The annual collection for Peters Pence will take place on that day. St Edmund Arrowsmith High School celebrates its 50th Anniversary this year with Mass on the feast of Sts Peter and Paul (Wednesday 29th June) at 11am in the Cathedral, celebrated by Archbishop Kelly. All former staff and pupils, and anyone else associated with the school, is welcome to attend. With You Always : To help us prepare for the new order of the Sacraments (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist) there will be a series of discussions starting on Tuesday of this week (28th June) at 7pm in the Parish Centre, looking at the idea of Family Catechesis and how we help parents prepare their children for reception of the Sacraments. This is especially for those who, earlier in the year, expressed an interest, but also for catechists, parents of young children, and even grandparents, who can add so much at this time. To begin with, we will focus on preparations for Baptism and then consider Confirmation and the Eucharist. Please do come along to see how you can become involved. No Flower Arranging this week. Please Note there will be no Confessions this Saturday. Lourdes Pilgrimage : I have received a letter from the Secretary of the Archdiocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes (thats me!!) inviting those who are unable to travel physically to Lourdes to join spiritually in the prayers of the Pilgrimage as Associates. If you wish to do so, please add your name to the blue card at the back and take a prayer leaflet. Any donations, which provide for the needs of sick pilgrims, should be placed in an envelope and handed into the sacristy. Gift Aid : 225.36 Loose Plate : 277.50 Total : 502.86. Many Thanks. Last weeks collection ; Question of the Week : In what ways does Jesus presence in the Eucharist help you to do good things for others? What does it mean to you to be bread for others as Jesus was?
Your Parish Priest: Fr. John Gorman
