Welcome to the all new PROLINE catalogue packed full of new products and ideas. Over the past year since our last edition we have been researching and product testing many new lines and various different fabric systems to bring to you our most complete offering to date.
Proline proudly designs, manufactures and supplies only the highest quality sports, rehabilitation and medical products. Over the past year we have been testing and trialing our NEW HOT / COLD THERAPY product line, which includes many new innovative products such as Knee, Back & Hand reusable Gel therapy goods.Together with Cold Gel packs and brand new Reusable Instant Heat Packs. After listening to customers comments, we have also added selected New items to our standard range improving and expanding upon specific lines, such as Posture Corrective Braces and Supports etc. Another NEW line is the introduction of a range of Nano Flextra Elasticated Supports. These supports unlike some of the low quality items available are manufactured to exacting standards are very durable and together with the unique woven fabric structure provide good support, are breathable, fast drying, antibacterial and odour free.

This multi functional knee wrap is supplied with a pre shaped removable Gel pack that can be used for either HOT or COLD Pain Relief Therapy for your knee.
Designed to fit around the knee, the unique shape of the knee wrap allows it to provide target relief around the knee area. Q:- USING COLD THERAPY FOR MUSCULAR ACHES AND PAINS ? Should Injuries / Strains be treated with COLD Therapy? There are two basic types of injury , acute and chronic. Acute injuries are sudden, sharp, traumatic injuries that occur immediately (or within hours) and cause pain (possibly severe pain). Most often acute injuries result from some sort of impact or trauma such as a fall, sprain, or collision and it's pretty obvious what caused the injury. Acute injuries also cause common signs and symptoms of injury such as pain, tenderness, redness, skin that is warm to the touch, swelling and inflammation. If you have swelling, you have an acute injury. Chronic injuries on the other hand, can be subtle and slow to develop. They sometimes come and go, and may cause dull pain or soreness. They are often the result of overuse, but sometimes develop when an acute injury is not properly treated and doesn't heal. Cold Therapy Cold therapy such as Cold Gel Packs can be the best immediate treatment for acute injuries because it reduces swelling and pain.
Cold Frozen Gel packs can be considered to be a vaso-constrictor (it causes the blood vessels to narrow) and it limits internal bleeding at the injury site. Apply a pack within its outer cover (never directly against the skin) to the affected area for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. Allow the skin temperature to return to normal before cooling a second or third time. You can cool an acute injury several times a day for up to three days. Cold therapy is also helpful in treating some overuse injuries or chronic pain in athletes. An athlete who has chronic knee pain that increases after running may want to cool the injured area after each run to reduce or prevent inflammation. It's not helpful to cool a chronic injury before exercise. The best way to cool an injury is with a high quality gel pack that conforms to the body. Whilst exposure to cold can ease pain and swelling, Gel or Ice packs can also stop blood flow if left on the skin too long. Researchers say, ice packs should not stay on the skin longer than a half-hour. Always keep a cloth between your skin and the pad, never allow a Cold Gel Pad to stay in contact directly with the skin. If the injury occurs in an area with little fat or muscle beneath the skin, such as a toe, take the compress off after 10 minutes maximum. Hot Therapy (information) Heat is generally used for chronic injuries or injuries that have no inflammation or swelling. Sore, stiff, nagging muscle, back or joint pain is ideal for the use of heat therapy. Chronic pain or injuries may use heat therapy before exercise to increase the elasticity of joint connective tissues and to stimulate blood flow. What is Standard NEOPRENE? (PL)
Neoprene (Polychloroprene) is an extremely versatile synthetic rubber with almost seventy years of proven performance in a broad industry spectrum. Due to its excellent thermal properties and flexibility, Neoprene is used primarily in the sporting and medical industries. In the manufacture of Proline products, this high quality sponge rubber, laminated with a four way stretch fabric on its outer surface, is then inner lined with Super-plush towelling giving increased user comfort, and an excellent thermoinsulative barrier. Although you may see other companies offering similar products at lower prices, the chances are that they are using an inferior, industrial version that does not have the same thermal qualities or stretch ability. In the long term, this cheaper fabric degenerates, allowing the core material to break down into crumb. The outer lining is then likely to peel away. Proline products are manufactured using only the highest quality, genuine Neoprene. In fact we use only the best available raw materials, for all our merchandise.
What is FLOPRENE? (FL)
Floprene is a highly efficient DUAL FLOW BREATHABLE fabric system that allows a two-way migration of air through the fabric core with high tensile strength, while being very flexible and supportive.
During the tri-lamination manufacture of Floprene the inner lining material (Neoprene) is re-processed creating a series of small perforations within the inner lining prior to being laminated with its outer covering materials. This in effect creates a breathable thermal barrier between the body and atmosphere by having a double knit outer layer that breathes and an inner lining material of super plush towelling against the skin. The fine open weave fabric creates a micro-air gap
between itself and the skin, aiding air circulation, yet still reflecting the bodys natural heat back into the surrounding tissue areas. The perforations allow excess moisture to escape and take in cooling air. The main advantage of Floprene is that during long periods of
wear or strenuous activities the core perforation system opens and closes during movement, helping to circulate air, while affording a good all round comfort factor. Another advantage is that Floprene is suitable for use in varying climatic conditions.

There are two basic types of injury , acute and chronic. Acute injuries are sudden, sharp, traumatic injuries that occur immediately (or within hours) and cause pain (possibly severe pain). Most often acute injuries result from some sort of impact or trauma such as a fall, sprain, or collision and it's pretty obvious what caused the injury. Acute injuries also cause common signs and symptoms of injury such as pain, tenderness, redness, skin that is warm to the touch, swelling and inflammation. If you have swelling, you have an acute injury. Chronic injuries on the other hand, can be subtle and slow to develop. They sometimes come and go, and may cause dull pain or soreness. They are often the result of overuse, but sometimes develop when an acute injury is not properly treated and doesn't heal. It's not helpful to cool a chronic injury before exercise. The best way to cool an injury is with a high quality gel pack that conforms to the body. Whilst exposure to cold can ease pain and swelling, Gel or Ice packs can also stop blood flow if left on the skin too long. Researchers say, ice packs should not stay on the skin longer than a half-hour. If the injury occurs in an area with little fat or muscle beneath the skin, such as a toe, take the compress off after 10 minutes maximum.

HOT Therapy
Heat is generally used for chronic injuries or injuries that have no inflammation or swelling. Sore, stiff, nagging muscle, back or joint pain is ideal for the use of heat therapy. Chronic pain or injuries may use heat therapy before exercise to increase the elasticity of joint connective tissues and to stimulate blood flow. Heat can also help relax tight or spasmed muscles. Don't apply heat after exercise. After a workout, Cold Gel is the better choice on a chronic injury. Because heat increases circulation and raises skin temperature, you should not apply heat to acute injuries or injuries that show signs of inflammation. Safely apply heat to an injury 15 to 20 minutes at a time and use enough layers between your skin and the heating source to prevent burns. Because some injuries can be serious, you should see your doctor if your injury does not improve.
COLD Therapy
Cold therapy such as Cold Gel Packs can be the best immediate treatment for acute injuries because it reduces swelling and pain. Cold Frozen Gel packs can be considered to be a vasoconstrictor (it causes the blood vessels to narrow) and it limits internal bleeding at the injury site. Apply a pack within its outer cover (never directly against the skin) to the affected area for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. Allow the skin temperature to return to normal before cooling a second or third time. You can cool an acute injury several times a day for up to three days. Cold therapy is also helpful in treating some overuse injuries or chronic pain in athletes. An athlete who has chronic knee pain that increases after running may want to cool the injured area after each run to reduce or prevent inflammation.
