Bank and mortgage brokers are feeling
the pinch.

These media reports highlight the value for money

that BCU, as a community credit union, offers its
members. Our lending figures are up, our mortgage interest rates
are some of the best, and our lending criteria remain unchanged.

Here at BCU, members have every reason to feel extremely

pleased with BCU’s performance as our most recent quarterly
figures show that, against all the trends, our lending is up. In the
three months to the end of April, BCU posted impressive growth
figures with loans increasing by 4.5% and a projected annual
growth rate of 12% to the end of this financial year.

With last quarter’s encouraging growth

figures, the challenge now facing BCU is
to attract deposits so we can continue to
offer to our members loans with competitive
interest rates.
Just look at the back page to see how we compare against
our competitors.

‘Local is best’, says Tony

Even after having bought and sold several

by what he learnt at BCU’s recent

and you’ve got to keep up,’ he said. The
seminar, held in April, included talks from

and his wife have lived in the Grafton area
for many years and the most important
thing for him was having a lending
manager that he knows and trusts. ‘I really
do believe that local banking is best,’ he
said, ‘For a while I joined a big national
bank, but I soon realised that the levels
of service and knowledge you get from
a local lender are so much better than
anything a big bank can provide.’
