Some comments from past hosts:

we prayed for our family and thanked Jesus, Mary and Joseph for being such good role models. the Traveling Holy Family caused us to pause in our busy day and thank God for all his blessings. we talked about what Jesus must have been like at seven or eight years of age our childrens ages. it was easy for our children to relate their own family life to the life of Jesus Christ.

Watch future bulletins for August dates!

Tuesday morning Bible Study will begin on Sept. 20, 2011, with the study of the Letter of James. From January-April 2012, the group will study The Psalms. All are invited. For more information, please check the Parish web-site, or call 496-6011.

Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Knights of Columbus
Charity, Unity, Fraternity, Patriotism "The time to show up fully for life is right now, whatever the circumstances. The decision to be the divine attracts the divine. Life is a swirling pool of infinite potential at every single moment, and we ourselves either activate or refuse to activate the mystical fertility of the universe." Marianne Williamson, from Everyday Grace Be all you can be for Jesus the Christ! Work to assist our ministries who bring support and assistance to our neighbors: St. Edwards Christian Service and St. Vincent de Paul, Welcome INN, and iHOPE! SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL The universally recognized Saint of Charity, Vincent de Paul, lived a rich and complex life. Intensely devoted to Jesus, especially Jesus suffering in the poor. Vincent's way of reading the gospel has special resonance for today. Throughout his long life, he managed to bring together prayer and action. Although some mystery shrouds his younger years, he conducted his priestly life in full view through great activities that continue today. His two religious families (the Congregation of the Mission, or Vincentians; and the Daughters of Charity) plus the world wide Society of St. Vincent de Paul still look to him for guidance today. Respect Life
MIRACLE OF ULTRASOUND Ultrasound is one of the most powerful tools pro-lifers have to change a womans mind about abortion and help her embrace the sanctity of life, according to former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson. She said that women who see the ultrasound of their baby connect with a powerful maternal bond. They see that it is a baby and that it does have a heartbeat, she explained. Just seeing the heartbeat is very powerful to a woman.

Around the Diocese

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ FOR YOUR INFORMATION Periodically, and more so of late, we have had gypsies, usually a mother with a small child, seeking money from our parishioners after the weekend Masses. While we have given them food from our Christian Service Outreach (to which they are indifferent), what they want are monetary donations. It is a racket and they prey on parishioners good will. They have been circulating among parishes and other establishments seeking money. We ask that you do not respond to their solicitation for money so as not to encourage their return. It is important to say that we are not turning our backs to the poor; rather we do not wish to condone or encourage their manipulative and sometimes aggressive behavior which is a racket for collecting money.
