Contact The Great Escape at 858-577-6171 ID CARD CENTER & LEGAL ASSISTANCE CLOSURE Due to the 4th of July holiday, both the ID Card Center and the Legal Assistance office will be closed on July 4 & 5. The ID Card center will be closing at 1400 on Friday, July 1. IPAC MINIMAL SUPPORT HOURS IPAC Miramar will be staffed to provide minimal support on Friday, 1 July, beginning at 1200 in order to conduct a unit event. Marines will be on hand to issue orders or support administrative emergencies until 1630. Normal hours will resume upon return from the 4th of July holiday period on Wednesday, 6 July, at 0730. MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART - FREE ALL YEAR Information from the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego: Free to military families all year round. Two locations: 700 Prospect St. in La Jolla, and 1100 Kettner Blvd in San Diego (there is another Museum building location at 1001 Kettner Blvd but it is closed until August for maintenance). POST OFFICE CLOSURE/HOLIDAY HOURS (MILITARY SIDE ONLY) The Military Post Office will be closing on Friday July 1, 2011 at 1200 for a unit function. Please have all official mail clerks pick up your sections mail between 0830 and 1130. If this is not possible for your section, please call the Post Office to make other arrangements. The Military Post Office will be closed, in observance of Independence Day, Monday July 4, 2011 and Tuesday July 5, 2011. Normal working hours will resume Wednesday July 6, 2011 from 0730-1630. HELP FOR FAMILIES GOING THROUGH DIVORCE Kids'Turn INTRODUCES: THE KIDS' TURN/FULLER JENKINS, MILITARY AND VETERAN FAMILIES PROGRAM San Diego. The mission of Kids' Turn San Diego is to promote, support and secure the well-being of all children who are experiencing the challenges of family separation. Kids' Turn is the only organization in Southern California working exclusively with military and veteran families. Parents will attend their own group separate from their co-parent where they will learn how to successfully accomplish a child centered, healthy divorce. Children will attend groups tailored to meet their specific needs by helping them learn how to express their thoughts, and feelings and develop good coping skills. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES MARINE MENTORSHIP OPPORTUNITY Black Mountain Middle School is looking for Marine mentors for their summer "Lunch Bunch" program. This program provides tutoring and mentorship to at-risk (most low income, single-parent) students for one hour-twice a week, while schools are not in session.
