Before you can configure the transport routes, the following requirements must be met: The transport domain was configured [Extern]. All R/3 Systems involved were included in the transport domain. The transport control program was configured [Extern]. The information on the transport directory and the R/3 databases was stored in the global parameter file (TPPARAM).

)HDWXUHV
The configuration of the transport routes is managed in the R/3 System serving as the transport domain controller, and can be distributed to and activated in all other R/3 Systems connected in the transport domain. The transport route configuration consists of: System attributes Consolidation routes Delivery routes

SAP provides two editors for configuring transport routes: Hierarchical list editor The R/3 Systems and their transport routes are displayed in a tree structure. Graphical editor The R/3 Systems and their transport routes are displayed graphically. The R/3 Systems can be positioned and linked together by clicking the mouse.

All parts of the configuration are saved in such a way that when the editor is accessed again, the latest version is available. If you modify and save an active configuration, the version counter increases when it is saved. To activate a stored version, choose &RQILJXUDWLRQ *HW.

Version 0000 cannot be activated directly. It is the result of converting the old control tables to new configuration tables. To edit configuration version 0000, you must first save this configuration as version 0001. To do this, choose Configuration -> Save. The version is increased to 0001. For further information, see the section Checking the Transport Route Configuration [Seite 29]. 6SHFLDO IHDWXUHV LQ WKH JUDSKLFDO HGLWRU When the configuration is saved, the transport routes in the configuration are checked. This check involves testing the delivery routes.

The configuration you have created is checked to see whether the delivery routes created start at a consolidation system there are any effects on open requests and tasks

,QWHJUDWLRQ
The following behavior can also be set using the parameter multileveldelivery in the tp profile TPPARAM: If multidelivery = 1, one or more deliveries can take place from a delivery route. In this way, several systems can therefore be supplied with change requests from the consolidation system.

If the configuration is consistent, it is compared with open requests. The system checks whether these requests require a different type (local or transportable request, repair or correction) require a new transport destination become invalid due to inconsistent object combinations The log displayed lists all inconsistencies found. The log displayed lists all inconsistencies found. You can find detailed information in the long text of the respective message.

When all checks have been completed, you can distribute the configuration.

To do this, choose &RQILJXUDWLRQ 'LVWULEXWH. You are asked to enter your user ID and password in all R/3 Systems connected. After distributing the configuration, you can activate it. There are 2 different methods: The configuration is activated from the controller in all R/3 Systems. The configuration status of all R/3 Systems is displayed. To do this, choose &RQILJXUDWLRQ $FWLYDWH ,Q DOO V\VWHPV. The configuration is activated locally on the controller and in all other R/3 Systems. To do this, choose &RQILJXUDWLRQ $FWLYDWH /RFDO.

SAP recommends activating the configuration centrally from the controller to ensure that you are shown the current configuration status of all R/3 Systems on the controller.

The options for setting transport routes were expanded. Up till now only recipient systems could be defined for consolidation systems. A transport route could therefore only have two stages: 1. Development system Quality assurance system 2. Quality assurance system Production system The first stage is the consolidation route, the second the delivery route. As of Release 4.0, there is multilevel forwarding. This allows you to define recipient systems for recipient systems. The transport control program tp implements this function. tp also allows multilevel forwarding in Release 3.1G. But because 3.1G is compatible with 3.0C, this function was deactivated in 3.1G. If you would like to use "multilevel forwarding" although your R/3 System has a Release prior to 4.0A, you must note the following points: All transport control programs (tps) used must have at least Release 3.1G. You must enter <SID>/multileveldelivery=1 in all transport profiles (TPPARAMs) used.
