DSWD vows support to Tzu Chi projects

SOCIAL Welfare Secretary Corazon Dinky Soliman vowed more support for the Buddhist organization Tzu Chi Foundation Philippines in its various charity works nationwide.
Solimans proclamation came on the heels of Tzu Chis rice donation program on July 3 which benefited an estimated 14,000 poor families in Marikina. To open the program, a short, heartfelt prayer was offered by all walks of faith from Catholic, Muslim and Buddhist. A heavy downpour nearly marred the proceedings. But before things could get wet or ruined by the downpour, Alfredo Li, chief executive officer of Tzu Chi, urged his fellow Tzu Chi members to pray sincerely to the Almighty to bless the proceedings by making the rain stop. While the nearly 20-minute rain was going on, Li and his fellow Tzu Chi volunteers repeatedly sang the Tzu Chi song Prayer which brought much joy and relief to the crowd as the rain miraculously stopped. A total of 600 Tzu Chi Filipino volun-

Stars give their views on same-sex marriage

By Dolly Anne Carvajal

INCE I have a gay son, IC, its only natural that I am in favor of samesex marriage. But it doesnt mean Im encouraging all gays and lesbians to get hitched.
munity of the basic right to pursue happiness? Live and let live, love and let love! Jennylyn Mercado: Its all about freedom, acceptance and love. Everybody deserves to be happy. Nandoon ako sa New York when they celebrated Gay

What works for one couple may be disastrous to another. A happy third-sex partnership is far better than a marriage of heterosexuals with a third party on the side. One love fits all. Why deprive the LBGT (Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay and Transgender) com-

Pride. Sobrang saya. You could feel the love all around you! Aiza Seguerra: Of course I am for it, for obvious reasons. Enough na sa akin if my partner and I are able to enjoy the privileges and rights na meron ang married couples. Yun lang masaya na ako. Diana Meneses: Im straight but I give same-sex marriage a thumbs up. Ill never be against people finding their soul mate, no matter what gender they are. We have to be open-minded enough to under-

stand that its a natural human attraction and preference. Joey Reyes: I believe happiness is a choice and a commitment. It is between the partners and the God they choose to believe in, and not any institution designed and ruled by men. Recognized contracts are necessary only to protect individual and joint interests of a couple, regardless of sex or their permutations. It is to ensure fairness by law and not a guarantee of love. Kim Atienza: If the love is genuine, it is already solemnized in the eyes of God. There

are many religions and sects that may solemnize the union but we cannot fault nor force the Catholic church to say its okay because it is against their basic belief and dogma. Mr. Fu: I really dont mind if same-sex marriage will be solemnized in the Philippines but I dont want to undergo that ceremony. I just want a forever partner in life who will be my friend, lover and soul mate. No need for wedding rituals and a marriage certificate. May ganon?

Temptation Island umeksena na sa takilya

NAGANAP last Sunday sa Sm Megamall ang movie event na iniintay ng mga "becky" mapabagets man o mapa-tanders, mapa-high end man o cheap. Ang Temptation Island premiere night. Kanya-kanyang eksena ang mga tao and super excited to watch the infamous remake of the film that until now has a cult following. Madaming attendees from showbiz and the fashion industry at naghihintay ng mga pasabog ng mga tempting girls ang boys from the island. The girls: Marian Rivera as the con artist Christina, Lovi Poe as the Diva Serafina L, Soleen Heusaff as the socialclimbing Pura K, Heart Evangelista as the naive girl and Rufa Mae Quinto as the loyal krung-krung Yayey. The boys: Aljur Abrenica, Mikael Diaz, Tom Rodriguez and John Lapus. Present ang lahat sa premiere night except for Heart (who is in Brazil with her yummy beau, Daniel Matsunaga) and Aljur (who is in the States). Lahat sila ay nabigyan ng kanya kanyang moment and they all did good pero for most of the people including me, si Lovi Poe at Rufa Mae ang pinaka-umeksena. Kakaloka ang tandem nila bilang magamo. Lovis modulated bedroom voice at ang walang kupas na comic timing at ang mga banat ni Rufa Mae will surely have you rolling on the aisles laughing. Her funny antics and one-liners are sure to be iconic for the next remake. Proud ako kay Solenn dahil for a newbie na kasabay ang mga hustler sa comedy, she held her own and did the role of Pura K justice and, for me, si Heart ang pinaka-fresh sa lahat. My new crush Mikael Diaz was so good too, especially considering first-timer ito sa big screen. I think we found a new leading

man in Tom Rodriguez. Why not a TV project too? Go!

Marian Fans vs. Heartworld?

Now, for some juicy chika, napag-usap-usapan ngayon ang alleged iringan nila Marian at Heart. At nagchicheer pa during a fight scene between Lovi and Heart na "Lovi!

After the premiere night Heart tweeted: @Heart021485 tama! kawawa naman ang mga @heartworld so let's put a stop to this. Chos!

Luis and Angel twitter war

Kamakailan lang may pagpaparinig si Angel referring to her ex Luis Manzano. "Dear Ex, Stop texting, stalking and fighting me if youre over na.

Kaloka! Pero mukhang super happy na si Angel Locsin dahil noong Sunday she cheered the Azkals sa Rizal Stadium and andun din siya sa Robot Bar kung saan ginanap ang victory party ng mahal nating Azkals kasama ang rumored new mahal na sa Phil Younghusband at nakita pa silang sweet! and ang irony, Rufa Mae was at the same party. Although, no reports that the two stars interacted.

I felt like an animal, sabi ni Djokovic ang bagong numero uno sa mundo.

We have a young team and we are rebuilding so the win shows a lot of the character of the players, sabi ni Esplana na lumaro bilang playmaker sa Presto, Shell at Sta. Lucia sa pro league. Scoring 34 points in the fourth quarter for us is unbelievable. Its our first time to play so there was less pressure, ani Lyceum coach Bonnie Tan.
