Studies have not yet seen the extent to which a person may survive with HIV and AIDS. Individuals who tested positive from two decades ago are still maintaining a high standard of health. The lacking support in the community drives individuals to delay testing,
preventing them from taking early action towards maintenance of health and from adopting safe behaviors to avoid transmission of these deadly viruses. Discrimination further enhances neglect and abandonment of already sick patients. Though these victims are most vulnerable, they are disregarded to the highest degree, often shunned and deserted of support. Often they are burdened with concern for a family that will remain without assistance at their passing. The combination of these factors leads to premature deaths which may increase to a substantial level in future, if ignored now. With this understanding, the primary need of the community becomes apparent. Though multiple establishments are centered on the clinical factors of staving off the biological consequences of HIV/AIDS, a truly lacking institution is one which battles the social issues that tend to dramatically increase the level of fatality for patients. The SAVE YOUR SELF is a project of SLYG on HIV/AIDS who encompasses such goals
by focusing on support for individuals, families, and communities affected by HIV/AIDS. A future HIV Support Center will potentially grow from within this structure. The overall approach encompassed within this project is an initiative to provide support against HIV/AIDS through a holistic approach that targets the disease through cure, awareness and preventions.

This program is organized to fight HIV and AIDS especially by engaging youth who possess the potential to cater the entire society. The operating principles for the HIV/AIDS Program are described below. We are collectively committed to finding ways for these principles to guide workplace behaviors, norms, and decisions. Although these principles represent ideals, we believe that they are important to state because they establish standards for conduct and encourage trust in the workplace.

The development of institutions policies on AIDS education is an important first step in planning and designing this project. This project will provide in-depth understanding of Social, institutional, societal, and cultural environment to be considered while outlining Institutions and workshops policy interventions. Based on the results of this research the recommendations for development of culturally and institutionally acceptable policies and regulations on AIDS education in institutions will be made and presented to the key policy makers and representatives of the related ministries, and other officials. The SLYG members are volunteers and work on different basis therefore we feel that good training in: Peer Education, Theatre, Leadership, Financial Management, Monitoring and Evaluation will help us very much in the projects sustainability, and as a result we shall have well equipped personnel whereby every volunteer shall deliver services on competences approval. This brings commitment and involvement when working with people in the field. In this case, we take peer education and theatre as the tools to disseminate information in all the activities that are conducted by our organization. Further more, there is need to give teams that are involved in sporting activities balls, (football, netball and volley ball) this gives the targeted population the sport loving spirit which in the long run remains in the participants mind and thus makes them strive in search of the like services thereby having a spirit of motivation. Also, the youth that will be trained carpenters and joiners will, in them be instilled the skills and business know how and thus they will impart the knowledge to other youth and help in the social and economical development in our zone.
