2 Funktion und Anwendung
Das pneumatische Taktvorschubgerät
BV fördert taktweise Endlosmaterial wei-
ter. Es ist für den Einsatz an Ferti-
gungsmaschinen konzipiert. Die Förder-
strecke ist einstellbar. Abwechselnd
wird das Endlosmaterial gespannt:
− durch eine ortsfeste Haltezange,
− durch eine bewegliche Vorschubzan-
ge.
a) Während die Haltezange das Endlosma-
terial festspannt (Bild 2a),
− führt die Vorschubbrücke des BV ei-
nen Leerhub aus.
b)
Während die Vorschubzange das End-
losmaterial festspannt (Bild 2b),

− wird diese durch die Vorschubbrücke
weiterbewegt,
MLC-8-.../ VL-8-... − fördert sie das Endlosmaterial mit.
Für die Steuerung des BV sind pneuma-
tische oder elektrische 8/2-Wegeventile
vorgesehen.

Function and application
The pneumatic feed unit feeds endless
material at regular intervals. It is inten-
ded for use on manufacturing machines.
The feed path can be adjusted. The
endless material is clamped alternately
by the:
− fixed holding clamp,
− moving feed clamp.
Whilst the holding clamp holds the end-
less material (Fig. 2a)
− the feed clamp of the BV performs an
empty stroke.
Whilst the feed clamp holds the endless
material (Fig. 2b),
− the latter is pushed further through
the feed clamp
− it pulls the endless material along.
The BV is controlled with pneumatic or
electrical 8/2-way valves.

adapted to the height of the manu-
facturing machine;
– the longitudinal axis of the endless
material must correspond to the
machine axis.
• Make sure that you can always ope-
rate the adjusting screws.
If the BV is fitted in a vertical/diagonal
position or if there are a high number of
cycles and a long forward stroke,
• please take into account the weight
and/or inertia of the endless material.
A driven reel on the endless material
prevents feed faults.
• Tighten the four fastening screws,
except on BV-200-125 C and
BV-100-70 C. Here there are only
two fastening screws.

If two BVs are connected in series (as
shown in circuit diagram, Fig. 26),
• the pneumatic connections for the
clamps should be fitted with blind
plugs.
The clamps have no function in this
case. The connections are then pro-
tected from dirt.

(x) bei etwa 15°. Für die Vorsteuer-
winkel bei hohen Taktzahlen gelten
die Werte von Bild 34.

If the BV is used for transporting materi-
al for tools with pin stops,
• you should use an electrosolenoid
valve of type MOC-3-1/4 for interme-
diate ventilation of the holding clamp.
When the pin stops dip down, the
valve must be operated briefly by
means of a further cam disc and an
electrical end switch. Otherwise the
jamming holding clamp prevents the
endless material from being centered
in the tool.
The cam length for the duration of in-
termediate ventilation depends on the
following variables:
– number of cycles
– pin stop geometry.
Normally the cam length (x) is ap-
proximately 15°. The values in Fig. 34
apply in the case of advance control
angles with a high number of cycles.

type W-3-... for separate ventilation
of the clamps. In this way the feed
clamp remains positioned under pres-
sure.

Spannen und Vorschub
– Verminderung der Aufprallenergie
(Durchrutschgefahr)
– Schonung der mechanischen Teile
– höchstmögliche Vorschubgenauigkeit.

Dismantling and repair
• Order wearing parts kit if you wish to
renew the clamping devices.
• First replace both diaphragms, other-
wise differences in tension forces
may occur between the clamps.
• Proceed as follows:
Dismantling the clamps:
1. Ventilate the BV.
2. Unscrew the protective hood.
3. Remove the screws (9).
4. Remove the clamps.
Replacing the diaphragms:
1. Remove the screws in the
covers (C).
2. Remove the covers from the BV.
3. Remove both plates (D) together with
the diaphragm (F) and spring washer
(E) from the supports.
4. Clean both open cavities by
blowing them out.
5. Insert the new diaphragms in the
openings.
6. Screw the covers on again but do
not tighten.

springs into the blind holes of the
clamping surfaces of the clamps.
2. Insert (new) clamps.
3. Tighten the screws with tightening
torque (see Fig. 56).
4. Screw on and tighten the protective
hood.
• Conversion is now complete.
The old diaphragms are made of po-
lyurethane and can be disposed of in
recycling containers.
• Please inform our after-sales service
in good time if you wish your BV to be
overhauled.
