Responsive mode funding (EPSRC)


EPSRC responsive mode funding is very flexible. They fund projects ranging from small travel grants to multi-million pound research programmes. You can apply for whatever length of funding you require, whether it is a month or six years. You can apply for funding for a wide range of activities, including research projects, equipment, travel and collaboration. There are no closing dates so you can apply at any time.

First grant scheme (EPSRC)


This scheme is for early career researchers. If you have already established significant research credentials, the first grant scheme is not appropriate for you. You can only apply for a first grant once, whether your proposal is successful or not.

EPSRC fellowships
Postdoctoral fellowships Three-year awards for researchers who have recently completed a PhD to establish an independent research career. Career acceleration fellowships Up to five years of funding for talented researchers who have 3-10 years of postdoctoral experience. Leadership fellowships Up to five years of funding for researchers with the most potential to develop into the UKs future research leaders.
