(Fig.g) Set the sliding scale on the back of the unit in such a positionthat the speedof the film being usedapears adiacentthe trianglemark (e.9.ASA100/DlN21 ). Estimate(or measureJor greater accuracy)the camera to subiect distanceand then locate the nearest greater reading in feet or metres in the scale. Read the adiacentfigure on the inner disc to determinethe camera lens aperturesetting (e.g. f4 for a distanceof say 25 feev7.s metre).(Fig.1O) Ensure that photographs are not taken out of the effective rangesas they will be under-exposed.

FLASH OPERATION- COMPUTORUSE

The built-in photosensitivecell measures the light emanating from the subject and the computor automatically determines correctquantityof light required. the There are two settingsfor computor use: a) for relatively close range when the AUTO/MANUAL3 POSITOINswitch is being set under the GREEN DO r. (Flg . 1 1 ) b) for greaterdistances when the AUTO/MANUAL3 POSITION switch is beingset underthe RED DOT. (Fis.12) With the GUIDE SCALE at the back set the appropriate film speed (e.9.ASA100/DlN21), one can choose eitherf5.6settingas indicatedby the GREENor f2.8as indicatedby the RED. The figureswithin the COLOUB LINESspecifies AUTO RANGES which photographs that particutar the at at aoerture can be taken. '17teel/S.3 metres is lhe maximum distance specified by the GREEN setting, therefore for distances of 17 feevs.3 metresor less the GREEN setting should be selectedand the camera lens should be set at f5.6. For the distancesin excessol 17 teetl'.3 metresbut lessthan 35 feevl 1 metres, the RED settinq should be selectedand the cameralens should be set at f2.8. GREENAUTO CHECKLAMP Beforetaking the picture,TEST the flashand confirm correctexposurewith the AUTO-CHECKLAMP. (Fis.13) lf lhe GREENAUTO-CHECKLAMP lightsat ihe samemomentwhen the flashTEST button is pushed, this indicates auto circuit is workingat the correctauto distances. the

Alwaysallow the flash unit a few secondsafter READYLIGHT ON for lull capacitorcharging.

FLASH OPERATION-Computor Use wlth Motor Driye Camera.

The thyristorcarcuitry controlsthe output from the capacitor. In the Automatic Mode, only the amount oJ current required is used and the reminder is retained. This conservesbattery power and also reduce recycling time. Also this flash unit is speciallyso designedon the circuitry to be synchronizedwith Motor Drive Camera which has the winder speedby 2 flamesoer a second. 1. Set the knob on tront of unit to right positionunder RED DOT. Set lhe lensappertureof your cameraat f=2.8 for ASA 100film or at f:5.6 for ASA 400 film. 3 . This flash synchronizes with motor drive unit havingthe winderspeedby 2 flamesper a second. 4.
