A Journey Home is a 2009 indie film starring Toni Gonzaga, Soliman Cruz and Joem Bascon.

A Journey Home is a value-based, light family drama. It captivates the soul and brings it back to where it belongs. After 20 years of absence from his family, Dante decides to come back and face his abandoned children, Raffy and Kristine. He realizes however, that meriting forgiveness from a hardened heart requires much more effort than what he bargained for. Soliman Cruz stars as Dante Santos.

Is it ever too late for a second chance? Dante, a middle-aged man, believes he has lost everything: Estranged from his family for twenty years, he loses his job and finds out that his wife is dead. He goes to her wake and sees his two children Raffy and Kristine again. While Dante is eager to make amends with them, Raffy does not want him back into his life. When an accident forces Raffy to take Dante into his house, Dante learns how his own failure as a father has made an impact on how his son acts as the head of his family. In his effort to make things right between himself and Raffy, Dante develops a bond with Raffy's wife Gayle and his grandkids, Jake and Tinka. Dante also rediscovers his love for music that Raffy's son is also passionate about. With his growing relationship with Raffy's family, Dante begins to glimpse some hope for a second chance. For how long can Raffy harden his heart? Will Dante finally get his second chance at happiness?

The Concepts of Media: The Media construct reality: Is it because we know that media are responsible for the majority of the observations and experiences from which we build up our personal understandings of the world and how it works. And so in this movie, I discover that there is a view of reality based on media messages that have been reconstructed and have attitudes, interpretations, and conclusions already built in. If that so, it gives us our sense of reality. This movie is about the relationship of a family, wherein at first they already encountered such problems but in the end, they find a solution for that. So in this case, I think some of the families are experiencing the same events that happened also in the movie. From this movie, we can get a lesson and point of views especially about the family.

Audiences negotiate meaning in Media: It means that if the media provides us with much of the material upon which we build our picture of reality, each of us finds or negotiates meaning according to individual factors: personal needs and anxieties, the pleasures or troubles of the day, racial and sexual attitudes, family and cultural background, moral standpoint, and so forth. In this movie, there forms a several image of reality because the topic of the movie is about family and most of us can relate to this movie especially if we have problems related to families, this can already give us ideas on how to overcome it. Media messages contain ideological and value messages: In this concept, all media products are advertising in some sense proclaiming values and ways of life. From this movie, we can easily get different kinds of values or qualities especially when it comes to family problems or relationships as a family member. This movie implies ideas, lessons, realities, or understandings about what the movie has showed. And so they value the messages that they are implying or showing to us. Each medium has a unique aesthetic form: This means we are able to enjoy the pleasing forms and effects of the different media. This kind of movie was really great and delightful because from the start up to the end, there is a great impact to every scene they show. Another one, it gives us lessons or values that we can apply in ourselves and also in our family. I can say that the movie was done best and organize!
