CHALLENGES FACING THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH SUDAN

South Sudan or the Republic of South Sudan is Africa's newest nation. After several decades of brutal killings, After several decades of discrimination, After several decades of rejection, After several decades of oppression in their own land, South Sudan is now a republic on its own. Not just a republic but a very great republic why because the people of South Sudan saw the need to fight oppression. They fought oppression and they won. The people of South Sudan saw the need to fight discrimination in their own land. They fought discrimination and they won.

The people of South Sudan saw the need to fight rejection and brutal treatments. They fought rejection and brutal treatments and they won. The brutal killings of innocent women and children did not stop the people of South Sudan. About 500,000 innocent souls were butchered in Darfur by the wicked Omar Al-Bashir and his Janjaweed Arab friends but that did not stop the people of South Sudan. The great people of South Sudan endured all the pains and sorrows but the pains and sorrows did not stop them from fighting oppression, discrimination, and brutal killings of their innocent children. They fought with all their hearts, minds, bodies, and souls. It took several decades but they did not give up. Today they are winners. South Sudan is a great republic on its own. South Sudan is a great republic with great potentials. We all pray for a United Africa but in situations where separation seems like the only way to survival then you have no other choice than to separate and that is exactly what the good people of South Sudan did. Long live the good people of the great republic of South Sudan and long live our beloved Africa the greatest continent on earth. POVERTY is not something new in South Sudan. Instead of using the little money he collects from the sale of oil to nations across the world to develop Sudan, Omar Al-Bashir uses the money he collects from other nations to sponsor his terrorist groups including his Janjaweed group of terrorists leaving many Sudanese people especially the people of South Sudan in extreme poverty and hunger.

Meanwhile the oil deposits which are the only source of income for the entire nation of Sudan are found in South Sudan. Although the United Nation has declared Omar Al-Bashir a war criminal and a wanted man, this wicked man continues to rule as president of the people's republic of North Sudan but I know sooner than later the people of North Sudan will see the need to chase this monster out of their land because he is a criminal and doesn't deserve to live let alone rule a country. With the wicked Omar Al-Bashir out of the way, the new republic of South Sudan has great potentials of using the available natural resources to develop the new great republic of South Sudan. The wicked Omar Al-Bashir is trying so hard to take over the oil rich Abyei region of South Sudan by force but all his attempts will not work why because Abyei is part of South Sudan and the native Dinka people who live in Abyei are South Sudanese people and most world leaders know this. Although the new leader (the first president of South Sudan) Mr. Salva Kiir Mayardit is somehow unknown to the world at this time, Mr. Kiir is a freedom fighter and believes in justice. It is too early to conclude but Mr. Kiir has great potentials of leading the new great republic to even great heights. He believes in his people and fights for his people and so far as he stays and remains focused, Mr. Kiir has great potentials of becoming one of the greatest leaders in Africa. Like every new nation, there are several challenges ahead in addition to the current problems facing the people of South Sudan. Poor education is a major problem in South Sudan today and as we all know, education is the key to solving most of our problems and you cannot develop a new nation with illiterates so it is up to the new government of South

Sudan to work very hard to improve the education system in South Sudan today especially in the rural areas. I have already mentioned poverty and hunger. There is extreme poverty and hunger in South Sudan today. Most people go to bed hungry with nothing at all to eat. People continue to die from curable diseases why because there are no hospitals and health facilities to treat these sick people and it is up to the new government to help better the living conditions in South Sudan today by providing or at least creating the atmosphere for development, inviting investors, creating more jobs, building health facilities, providing people especially those in the rural areas access to good drinking water, etc. It is not going to be easy for the new republic but with focus and dedication, the republic of South Sudan has all it takes to be one of the greatest nations on earth. The people of South Sudan have shown that Africans can once again fight oppression, discrimination, and brutal treatments. Long live the great republic of South Sudan and long live our beloved Africa.
