ACHIEVEMENTS
• I successfully headed the implementation of Arbor SV (Online Billing System

• Reconciled the Nigerian Armed Forces indebtedness and persuaded them to pay
NGN 88M outstanding liability to Nitel Ltd. The Lagos Zone Management
commended this achievement.

Present Responsibilities (Finance Manager, General Accounts {NITEL} - 2003 – to

• Financial Reports: Coordinate Territorial financial reports. Ensure monthly
reports/journals are received, posted and accounts reconciled. Review financial
documentation for accuracy and compliance to internal control systems. Highlight
areas of non-compliance to the Head of Finance.
• Budgeting: Take responsibility for preparation of the annual budgets and its
revision as requested by the Head of Finance. Support update/implementation of
targets by budget holders with the original approved budgets and any revisions.
• Management Reporting: Provide budget versus actual expenditure reports to all
budget holders and Head of Finance on a monthly basis and highlight any adverse
variances. Ensure monthly and quarterly reports from the cost centers are
prepared in a timely manner for review by Head of Finance and submission to the
Zonal and Corporate Headquarters. Ensure that observations on monthly reports
are fully implemented.
• Cash Management: Monitor the direct remittance of revenues to Corporate
Headquarters by the collecting banks. Ensure that bank reconciliation statements

are properly and timely prepared. Perform ad hoc cash counts for both main and
petty cash. Ensure compliance to cash limits.
• Year-end: Take responsibility for reviewing & reconciling year end accounts.
Participating in Stock-taking.
• Audit: Coordinate internal and external audits by providing any relevant
information and support for external auditors. Create an audit action plan with the
Head of Finance based on audit recommendations and follow up plan to
implement.
• Fixed Assets: Ensure adequate maintenance of fixed assets register. Periodic
verification of physical existence of the assets.
