The median home size in the U.S. is 2,135 square feet, a size suitable for most families.
We looked up ten houses that are ridiculously larger -- at least 25X -than the average home. By our count, these are the largest private homes in America. That doesn't count various giant estates that have become museums, like the Biltmore and Monticello.
