UTP - Unshielded twisted pair solid core cable is made up of 4 pairs and can be used to connect a port on the patch panel to a UTP - RJ45 module at the other end. If you have a 24 port UTP patch panel you can have up to 24 modules in different locations up to a maximum of 90 metres away from the network cabinet.

PSTN/PABX
A voice patch panel is connected to the PSTN (public switched telephone network) exchange, using a multi-core CW1308 telephone cable - up to 24 phones can be connected to a 24 port voice patch panel.
