SPEED DETECTOR

JUZER EKHLAS NEELALOHITH P AVINASH CH. RAMAKANTH

V.I.T.U,VELLORE

THE NEED
Travelling by car is currently one of the most deadly forms of transportation, with over a million deaths annually worldwide.

The recent WHO report ranks India as a frontrunner in deaths due to road accidents with 13 persons dying every hour.

There is a dearth of infrastructure and improvement is not forthcoming.

The biggest impediment is a versatile monitoring system as its very impractical for this job to be carried out manually especially in a nation as populous as India.

India has one of the largest road networks in the world and a cost effective system which can be mass produced and used rigorously is the need of the hour. Page 2

OBJECTIVE To design and implement an embedded device which when positioned on the road would detect over speeding and capture the image of the image of the violators.
