Natalie Dickson
Im a born and bred Gold Coast girl who loves to see the
world - exploring ancient cities (while squeezing in a bit
of shopping) and meeting new people.
Most of the time I work from my home in Main Beach,
Australia, but I often travel overseas for my husbands
business, which makes working on the go very exciting!
This work life has taken me to all kinds of amazing cities
including Chicago, Mexico City, Durban, Barbados and
Marrakech.
I graduated from Grifth University in 2004 with a
Bachelor of Business, majoring in my passions of
Marketing and Journalism and gained industry experience
from working with two international companies, Citigroup
and D3 Motorsport Development. Being my own boss is
a very challenging and rewarding feat and since starting
RUBIO with my friend Janet in 2008 I have learnt that I
love helping people build their businesses and be the very
best they can be.
For me, success is defned by being a well-rounded
person, which is why I love to stay physically ft through
daily exercise and Pilates, and mentally ft by continuing
to learn and grow through every experience.
Business people who inspire me are Mark Bouris,
Oprah Winfrey and Richard Branson.
Meet our designamo Janet Hancock
Hailing from small-town Kloof, outside of small-city
Durban, I can currently be found living on a private game
reserve in northern KwaZulu-Natal with my chef husband.
I have been in the design industry since 2005 and I love
what I do. Graphic design is a passion of mine that allows
me to mix my love for art with my career. I started as a
graphic designer with a small frm and worked my way
up to Studio Head before joining forces with my friend
Natalie to create our dream business - RUBIO.
I have travelled to, worked, and lived in exotic
Mozambique and China so I have gathered the life
experiences and people skills that come free with that!
A great devourer of literature, I love both fction and
non-fction and have recently discovered an eagerness for
bird watching. I am also a massive fan of popcorn.
