Prelude Opening of the Word Call to Worship Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with him, and be their God.

Opening Hymn They Cast Their Nets in Galilee

Readings from the Word Revelation 1: 9-19 John 21: 20-34 Reading from the Heavenly Doctrines Apocalypse Explained 821 [8]

That the Lord's church is among those who are in charity in act, or in good works, and not among those who are in faith separate from them, is also signified by those things mentioned concerning Peter and John, as follows, "Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom the Lord loved following; which also leaned upon his breast at supper. Peter seeing him, saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me" (John xxi. 20-22). That by Peter is there signified truth without good, or faith separated from good works, such as shall be the case at the end of the church, may be seen above (n. 820); where also the foregoing words are explained. And because by John are signified the goods of charity, which are called good works, and these pertain to those who constitute the Lord's church, therefore, it was not Peter but John who followed the Lord; and, therefore, to Peter, who had asked, "What shall this man do?" the Lord said, "If I will that he tarry

till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me"; by which is meant that the good of charity will still remain with those who are the Lord's even to the end of the church, and when there is a new church; but not with those who are in faith separate from that good; and this is signified by these words to Peter, "What is that to thee?" Congregational and Pastoral Prayer The Lords Prayer Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial; and deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen. Hymn: Teach Us By His Example Sermon Homeless in Patmos Musical Interlude Offering Doxology To Jesus Christ be glory given By all on Earth and all in Heaven Let his dominion wide extend, His glorious kingdom have no end

Affirmation of Faith We worship the One God, the Lord the Savior Jesus Christ; in whom is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; whose humanity is divine. He came into the world and took our nature upon him. He endured temptation, even to the Passion of the Cross. He overcame the hells, and so delivered all. Without this, no mortal could have been saved; and they are save who believe in Him, and keep the commandments of His Word. This is His commandment; that we love one another, as he has loved us.
