Requirements for Installation & Use

BeforestartingtheAT&TGlobalNetworkClientinstallationandsetup,verify youhavetheinformationrequiredinthefollowingchecklist.Ifyouare missinganyinformation,pleasecontactyourAT&Taccountadministrator.
Account UserID Password Administratorrightstoinstallorupgrade YourWindowsinstallmedia(CDorinstalledCABfiles)maybe required. Hardware/Equipmentnecessarytoestablishbasicnetwork connectivity.Forexample,anexistingInternetconnectionvia cableorDSL,WiFi,Cellularmodem/card,ISDNT/A,oraDial modem&phoneline.

Upgrading Previous Releases

IfyoualreadyhavetheAT&TClientinstalledonyour workstation,AT&TClientversion7.3willperforman upgradeofpreviousversion5.xandversion6.x releasesoftheAT&TClient.Duringtheupgrade,the previousAT&TClientwillbeuninstalled,the workstationwillberebooted,andthenthenewAT&T Clientwillbeinstalled. YouruserdataandAT&TClient customizationswillbepreserved.Youruserdatawill notberestoredifyourcurrentversionoftheAT&T Clientisversion5.03orearlier. Toupgradeyou mustberunning version5.0or higher:Ifyouare

Upgrading to a Different Edition

Mostusersareabletoestablishaconnectionwithnomanualconfiguration priortotheirfirstconnection. TheAT&TClientincludesanAutomatic Connectionfeaturewhichwillattemptaconnectionoverallpossiblenetwork typesinstalledonyourcomputer.

Toexpandthedetailsoftheactiveconnectionsequence,clicktheplussign nexttotheconnectiontypenameslistedintheConnectionSequencearea (broadband,WiFi,cellular,dial,etc.).

Youcandoubleclickontheexpandedentriesformoreinformation.For example,clickthe+nexttoWiFitoexandthesection,thendoubleclick (preferredprivate)toopenthePreferredPrivateWiFiNetworks dialog.

Viewthedetailsofthedefault connectionsequencesand configureyourownconnection sequencebyclickingConfigure myownconnectionsequence fromthelist.Youcannotalter thesettingsofthedefault connectionsequences.

Toalteraconnectionsequence,firstcreateanewcustomconnection sequencebyclickingNew Youcanmodelyournewsequenceafteran existingconnectionsequenceorstartwithablankautomaticconnection.

Whenyoucreateanew connectionsequenceyou canaddnewconnection typestothesequenceby clickingAdd

ToRenameorDeleteacustomconnectionsequence,clickthe correspondingbuttonontheSetupAutomaticConnectionwindow. Changethesequenceattemptorderbyhighlightingaconnectionandclicking MoveUp,Movedown,orRemove.

Timeouts TheAT&TClientsupportsfivevariationsofTimeoutswhichcanbe configuredbyclickingOverridedefaults.
