Requirements for Installation & Use


BeforestartingtheAT&TGlobalNetworkClientinstallationandsetup,verify youhavetheinformationrequiredinthefollowingchecklist.Ifyouare missinganyinformation,pleasecontactyourAT&Taccountadministrator.

Account UserID Password Administratorrightstoinstallorupgrade YourWindowsinstallmedia(CDorinstalledCABfiles)maybe required. Hardware/Equipmentnecessarytoestablishbasicnetwork connectivity.Forexample,anexistingInternetconnectionvia cableorDSL,WiFi,Cellularmodem/card,ISDNT/A,oraDial modem&phoneline.

AT&T Global Network Client Editions


TheAT&TClientispackagedinfiveeditions.Youshouldonlyinstallthe editionprovidedtoyoubyyourCustomerAccountAdministrator.Installing aneditionwhichincludesservicesyourcompanydoesnotusemayprevent youfromconnectingtothenetwork. Anoverviewofeachoftheeditionsisshowninthetablebelow.

YourCustomerAccountAdministratormayhavecustomizedyourinstallation oftheAT&TClient.Whenusingacustomizedversionoftheclientoneor moreofthefollowingwindowsmaynotbeshown.

Upgrading Previous Releases


IfyoualreadyhavetheAT&TClientinstalledonyour workstation,AT&TClientversion7.3willperforman upgradeofpreviousversion5.xandversion6.x releasesoftheAT&TClient.Duringtheupgrade,the previousAT&TClientwillbeuninstalled,the workstationwillberebooted,andthenthenewAT&T Clientwillbeinstalled. YouruserdataandAT&TClient customizationswillbepreserved.Youruserdatawill notberestoredifyourcurrentversionoftheAT&T Clientisversion5.03orearlier. Toupgradeyou mustberunning version5.0or higher:Ifyouare
usingaversionofthe AT&TClientpriorto version5.0,youshould uninstallyourcurrent versionpriortoinstalling version7.0

Ifyouareusingaversionpriortoversion5.0oftheAT&TClient,itis recommendedyouuninstallyourcurrentversionpriortoinstallingversion 7.3.

Upgrading Version 7.0+ Installations


Ifyoualreadyhavea7.0orgreaterversionoftheAT&TClientinstalled, whenyoulaunchtheinstallationprogramtheupgradeconfirmationdialog shownbelowwillbedisplayed.ClickYestocontinue.

Upgrading to a Different Edition


ItisnotrecommendedtoupgradetoadifferentEditionoftheversion7.0+ AT&TClient.TheonlyexceptionistheLaptopConnectEditionwhichcanbe usedtoupgradeanexistingversion7.0+installationtoincludetheAT&T LaptopConnectCellularDeviceDrivers.Whenupgradingfromanexisting version7.0+installationtotheLaptopConnectEditiontheCellularDevice Driversareautomaticallyinstalled.Youcannotmanuallypreventthe CellularDeviceDriverinstallationwiththeLaptopConnectEdition.

Starting the AT&T Client


TolaunchtheAT&TClientdoubleclickontheAT&TGlobal NetworkClienticononyourdesktopORclickStart,click AllPrograms,ClickAT&TGlobalNetworkClientfolder, andclickAT&TGlobalNetworkClient.

Persistent Connections
WhenPersistentConnectionsisenabledbyyourCustomerAccount AdministratortheAT&TClientwillattempttoconnectorreconnecttheAT&T Clientwithlittleornointeractionfromyou. PIN and Token Authentication

Changing the Connection Sequence


TheAT&TClientcandynamicallyrecognizenetworktypesavailableonyour computer.TheAvailableNetworkspanelwillshowallnetworksoverwhich theAT&TClientmayattemptaconnection.ClickontheAvailable Networksiconformoreinformationabouteachnetwork,forexamplean Ethernetnetworkmaybeabroadbandconnectionovercable,DSLora leasedline.

Theconnectionsequencedeterminestheorderinwhichthenetworktypes availableareusedforaconnectionattempt.TheAT&TClientwillinstallwith theHighspeedautomaticconnectionsequenceastheactivesequence. TheHighspeedautomaticconnectionsequenceincludesallnetwork types,includinglowerspeedconnections(i.e.dial)ifnohighspeed connectivityexists.
