match we got to the main match of the day between the KCC soccer team aka The Kranji and Sparks FC from Bul bul area which is in the KCC neighbourhood. The match was action packed with both sides showing their prowess in the game of soccer and by half time neitheir team had scored! It was that half time that we were treated to a time of tug of war between the old school (Family Service) and the young bloods (Ground Zero) and after two tries it was a draw on both sides. Back to the soccer match and after 60 minutes of play the score was a draw: 2-2. but there will be a re-march in August to decide the winner! We will keep you posted!!
Red Sunday
On Sunday 17th July KCC was splashed in red not that it was valentine day (in July??) no, but it was time to spread the love and members were clad in red to symbolize that we at KCC are ready to spread the love of Christ not only among ourselves but also those around our community. To drive the point home there was even a mock wedding ceremony during the Family service sermon to show the whole concept of love is sacrificial, the same was emphasized in Ground Zero with challenge from Mark 12:30-31 where the youth were urged to love their neighbours the way they love God and themselves. The Children tabernacle were not left behind by showing their love with nice love boxes they have made for the children down in Aweer, Lamu. All in all love was and is in the air and for sure this 40 days of community will be a charged up event!! Text : Jimmy Ndirangu Photos: Fred Oloo (Juma)
