MESSRS. KOYO DOCKYARD CO., LTD. FENDER DAVIT . 5t x 3. OmR) ; NY i NT ORDER NO 25522 APPROVED BY TF taras CHECKED BY =e CHECKED BY A111 MARK|DATE| DESCRIPTION | BY | DRAWN BY _T. TAKAGAKI REVISION DATE JUNE. 20 2006 @ KYORITSU KIKAI CO.,LTD. 7 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FENDER DAVIT KYORITSU KIKAI CO.,LTD. 41-45 Minami-cho,Mihara, Hiroshima-Prof.723-0052,Japan. Phone: (0848)63-3456 L OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FENDER DAVIT CAUTIONS CONCERNING OPERATION 1) Never lft the load over the rated capacity. Be sure not to exceed the rated capacity of the crane, Crane is designed to provide the most ‘economical operation only under the rated capacity. The more frequently crane is used to handle the load above the rated capacity, the shorter the crane’s service life becomes. Therefore, never lift the load over the rated capacity. ‘As the maximum slewing radius of jib is regulated in the specification, please observe the limit load within the specified radius Accrane is a vertical lifting device. Non-vertical lift may apply excessive force to each part, shorten the life of the crane, and result in an accident. Therefore, please always safely operate the crane under the specified performance. 2) Never remove the safety device. Do not remove the hoisting limit switch even if the lifting range is not enough. This will easily ccause an accident. ‘As the safety device provides the protection for the crane at its specified position, never remove it cr change its specified position unless there is any abnormality. 3) Notes on operation ‘When hoisting the load, the hook will automatically stop at the upper limit position by the limit switch, Therefore, please lift the lond calmly. In order to avoid the impact of starting and stopping, please always operate the crane as smoothly as possible. This will reduce the wear of each part and extend the life of the crane. Please avoid repeating unnecessary starting and stopping operations (inching operations). 4) Notes on stowage (on a voyage) ‘Since the swing may resuit in the damage to the equipment, the jib head should be fixed by lashing rope during the stowage on a voyage. . MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION 1) Steel Structures ‘Check all the bolts for looseness and check all the parts for bending, crack, corrosion, etc. After a Jong period of use, contact bolts may become loose and the cracks may occur in the ‘welding pars. Thus, inspect them by “test hammer” and repair them as early as possible. 2) Lubrication For lubricating oil selection and Jubricating interval, refer to the attached table. 3) Wire ropes Since most of the crane accidents were caused by the breaking of the wire ropes and hooks, special attentions should be paid to daily inspections, lubrication, and handling. 4” x 34 Wire rope discard Wire rope with any one of the following conditions should be removed from service. @ The rope diameter has decreased 7% or more. @® The number of broken wire per 1m reaches 10. © The rope has been kinked and can not be repaired. @® Rope became thin at a point or lost shape. © Itis determined that rope can not be used any more due to rust of corrosion. 3-2 Replacement of wire rope Special attention should be paid to the following items when replacing the wire rope. © _Be-sure touse a wire rope with the specified length Even when hook is in the extreme low position, at least two wraps must remain on the drum. Wind the rope onto drum properly so thatthe rope can not be kinked. In order to keep the rope clean, wipe off the rope with a cloth and wind the rope onto drum. ‘One end of the rope must be anchored to the drum by the bolts so as to prevent loosening by vibrations, etc. ‘To lubricate the wire rope sufficiently. e 698 e 33 Cautions during use @ Breaking in a new wire rope ‘After installing a new wire rope, do not run it under the full load at the beginning, but run it under an approx. 1/2 load and a slow speed for several times to break in it Properly. @ _Off-position of the wire rope ‘When running the wire rope, always be sure that the wire rope is not run off the sheave ‘and drum. If no, the serious deformation, kink and break will occur. @® Notes on use ‘Avoid such operations that cause excessive shock of the rope. This not only damages the wire rope, but also brings obstacies to other parts. Sheave The use of sheave creates wear to rope and sheave groove. Especially, non-vertically lift will accelerate wear between rope and sheave groove. In the case of excessive wear in the groove, deformation or damage of the flange, the hook should be replaced by a new one. Thus please regularly inspect the wire rope as well as all the parts of sheave. Hook After a long period of using hook, a groove is formed in the elinging rope and the throat opening becomes bigger due to wear. Since fatigue hardening, material hardening and crack will occur due to repeated use over the years, periodic inspection for them should be done once a yeat. Ifthe abrasion in the slinging rope is not serious, it can be smoothly finished with a grinder. However, if significant wear and crack are created, the hook must be replace by a new one. [Never use the hook in which cracks are repaired by welding, etc, 6) Painting ‘The material becomes thin and the strength decreases due to must. If rust occurs, repaint it immediately. If approx10% of the painted area is suffered from rust, or blisters etc. occurs, repainting should be done, Before repainting, it is necessary to wipe off the rust completely, choose a proper weather, and confirm that no oil or grease is attached to the surface. When applying two or more coats of paint, the next coat shall be applied after the preceding coat is completely dry (approx.12 hours). : 3, LUBRICATION 1) Replacement of lubricating oil Exchange lubricating oil afier 100 hours of operation, and thereafter, exchange lubricating oil every 2,500 hours or every 6 months. However, exchange lubricating oil earlier in the place of high ‘ambient temperature, high humidity of critical service condition, ‘Required oil amount per exchange: Hoisting winch 3.3 liters (Lubricating oil) ‘Slewing reduction gear—— 6 Titers (Lubricating oil) 2) Lubricating oil It is recommended to use the lubricating oil in the table below or equivalent according to the ambient temperatures.
