CHAPTER 1:INTRODUCTION

Already part of the office scenery for many years, the photocopier has evolved significantly since the first Xerox plain-paper photocopier of 1959. Even though that first model was fully automated, today's photocopiers are generations ahead in their ability to combine copying, faxing, scanning, and laser printing in a machine that you can even access over a computer network. Every year 1, 5 million new photocopiers are sold, generating 12 billion in revenue for the photocopy industry. With a market this big, photocopier dealers have more than ample motivation to constantly improve their product range as well as their service offering.

Analogue or digital copier

even until recently, the key question when purchasing a photocopier was on the choice of a digital or an analogue machine. Now the answer in the vast majority of cases will always be "digital." Analogue machines, although still available, are unlikely to improve further. In addition, when the machines have similar features, there is very little price difference between analogue and digital.

Digital copier machines score over analogue in a number of ways:

They can take on the role of copier, fax machine, and network printer With fewer moving parts, they have better reliability Less noise makes for a better working environment Reproduction of detail and photos is enhanced

INTRODUCTION
The word printer means different things in different fields of applications. Going by the generic meaning, a printer means one who is in the occupation of printing and publishing. It also means a device which prints out the results of data computed by computers, as applied to computers. In the celluloid world, it stands for devices used to copy and modify films. It is extremely relevant to talk about the computer printers in this article. Computer Printer computer printer transforms digitally stored documents of graphics or text data into paper/hard copies. Printers can be permanently interfaced with individual computers or can be anywhere in the network, invariably through network interfaces, either wired or wireless, so that any or all users can share for hard copy production. You will normally see a wired network in small areas known as LAN and wireless networks or Ethernets are over a wide area (WAN). Types of Modern Printers Printers have evolved so much that you can have true life quality printing with them which is a departure from the earlier 'dot matrix' printers. Here are some printers which are relevant today. Inkjet printers Atlases printers A Plotters Thermal printers A Digital minilabs Generally in an office environment, the first three types of printers are the preferred ones. These are designed especially for office needs such as printing text matters, graphics like charts and power point presentation documents etc with an exception that plotters are dedicated for uses like constructional drawings which can't be 'printed'. How Printers Work Inkjet printers print by placing extremely small (50-60 microns in size) ink drops precisely in the format of the original document. The precision is so high that equals resolutions of 1440x720 dpi. The dots can any colors in predetermined combination to create color images. Laser printers work similar to photocopiers but differing in producing images. The document is directly scanned on to a photosensitive drum creating a negative image which is later developed by 'lamping back' and pressurized rolling over the paper by fusing. Plotters can print only line diagrams by one or more pens moving laterally according to the commands received by them. Buying Printers Fundamental points to consider while buying printers are price, speed, quality of print and in addition, cost of printing. You may want to look at the features offered like inbuilt cameras, resolution of minimum 1200x1200 dpi, cost of toner cartridge etc. Warranty will be usually for a year and generally speaking, you need not worry about maintenance/after-salesservice during their lives. But for photo printing, you need to buy the specific type of printer, if your preferred inkjet doesn't boast of this feature inbuilt there.

Services

Noida Business Automation will offer small office business owners a quick-response, reliable source of technical help for their computers Printer etc.
y

Noida Business automation will offer three main services - Hourly Technical Aid, Retainer contracts for specific skills or systems, and Purchase Of printer, photocopy Machine, Computer.

There appear to be four main classes of competition, the largest of which consists of individual proprietors and smaller consulting firms such as Noida Business Automation. The competitive edge for Noida Business Automation will be to expand on already existing relationships.

Noida Business Automation will start with some basic sales literature, including logo and stationary, a brochure, and a basic web page. These will be self-designed and computer generated, of course.

Fulfillment of services will be provided exclusively by Noida Business Automation owner.

Technology is obviously a critical component of this business: It will be important to stay up to date on both equipment and knowledge to remain competitive in the future.

Service Description

Noida Business Automation offer three main services, corresponding to what industry experts have identified as the primary opportunities in computer consulting: 1.Hourly (Temporary Technical Aid) - The less traditional sort of short term assignment helping a company solve a software or hardware related problem. Includes both emergency and nonemergency technical assistance. 2.Retainer (Specific Skill) - The more traditional form of consulting, including regular system maintenance, software and hardware upgrades, and network administration. The owner's particular area of expertise is in management consulting with regard to MIS. 3.Project (Bail-out or Specific Skill) - This will include such things as consulting on major purchases, system/network installation and testing, and major disaster recovery.

Competitive Comparison

There seems to be four major classes of competition in the local computer consulting industry:
y

In-house MIS consultants - Usually employed by larger companies that can afford the fixed cost of a salaried or hourly employee. Individual proprietors & smaller consulting firms - As noted elsewhere in this plan, the bulk of Yellow Page advertisements are comprised of this group. Larger network and telecommunications consulting firms - Large, known-name companies such as Network One that specialize in providing total MIS services to larger companies that choose to outsource. Computer and electronics stores offering consulting services.

Of course, Noida Business Automation fits into the largest group as a sole proprietorship. The primary reason that customers would buy from Noida Business Automation rather than competitors is the existing relationships that exist. Customer loyalty and satisfaction are the way to success for small service businesses such as this.

On time delivery of the products is the important area that is too focused on. There could be some changes in Noida Business Automation according to consumer needs and purchasing power of consumer. There may be improvement in the after sales services of the Noida Business Automation

LIMITATIONS

In the research conducted all the due efforts are made with full effort and diligence but still there might be some error due to the following reasons:

This research is conducted on a very small sample size, so it might be possible that the information given by such respondents may not match with the reply of the whole public of noida.

There was a time constraint while conducting the report.

It might be possible that the answers given by the respondents are full of biasness.

Some of the respondents were not willing to reply the questions.

As the questionnaire is in English language, some respondents found it difficult to understand it, even many refused.
