3.20 A

2. (a) Classify different types of deformations taking place in various materials and
explain them.
(b) Following observations are recorded on a Mild steel specimen of 13 mm gauge
diameter and 60 mm gauge length during a tension test on UTM.
Load at Yielding : 34 kN.
Maximum load sustained : 61 kN.
Load at Breaking : 46 kN.
Final Length : 78 mm.
Final diameter at NECK : 7 mm.

types of corrosion.
