There you can get a lot

of Tips about UGC NET Exam.

Ideally the preparation should start three months before exam, but that means you must stick to a particular schedule Study the syllabus from the point of view of the examiners or paper setters. Suppose you were asked to prepare questions based on this syllabus what would you ask. This will get you in the right frame of mind to understand what you should pay more attention to. Solve sample papers as much as you can, well that is a typical advice to any competition aspirant, I would suggest to get in to the details ( theory part) as soon as you come through the questions. If you are a appearing candidate, then try to co-relate the questions from the theory part, Remember, it doesnt matter how much your university awards you, rather a JRF would Really MATTER, so devote as much time as possible to get in to the subjects & concepts. They emphasize concepts rather than mugging up & vomiting data. Study the syllabus to identify which sections are more suitable for setting multiple choice questions, short answer questions and essay questions.

Understand which of the short answer questions when put together can form an essay question. Similarly, which essay question has specific points that may be used for short answer questions. for time schedule (paper 3) my planning was as follows: Section 1 :- 20min( every Qn :- 4min)(5 Qn)----> Try to interpret and write in ur own words Section 2:- 55min( every Qn :- 4min)(15 Qn)-----> Here they stress more on psycho and research Section 3:- 40min( every Qn :- 9min)(5Qn)------> Elective part Section 4:- 30min ( Essay)---> here give intro, then explain both pros and cons and then conclude Remember attempt all the questions....do justice with all the questions....what to take for exams a couple of HB pencils and two ball pens Black and blue ball pens and HB pencils is all you need, take an eraser and a sharpner if you wish. There is usually no time to highlight or underline, and its not really required. Write in asgood handwriting as you could, though there is not time for "Sulek Hard work and lots of specific knowledge, and you need to put it on paper nicely with in the time frame, which is a challenge, as there is less time and more you would know so at the end of the day, its not how much you know which would pass you the test but what you were able to write down that day, so write precisely, concisely and wisely, and indeed prepare throughly, easier to say then done, I must say, Go confident and well rested Going prepared is the Go confident and well rested Going prepared is the best thing Enter the room as soon as you can You shall be the Enter the room as soon as you can You shall be there as soon as possible. Especially if you are giving the exam the very first time. Make small notes

Make small notes At the end of preparations make very small notes, so small that you could write all the points and important things on the syllabus itself. That means at the most on three A4 pages. This helps a lot as then you could keep them with you all the time and refresh your memory from time to time, this way you remember all the points by heart and don't have to waste time thinking about them. How to prepare for it (1) Get the right books. a) standard book to pass the reasoning exam. The book by the pratiyogita darpan or competition success especially for NET is good enough. Don't forget all you need to do is pass this exam, which mean getting 45 % answers right, which is not a lot. There are lot of question which need simple common sense to answer and you don't need to prepare for them. Like the teaching aptitude questions. There are different type of questions practice few of them from all types. The most boring and annoying I find are the "statement and reason type"

Example :Statement - Black is the darkest colour. Reason - Because my buffalo is black. Options :a. the statement is true but reason is false. b. the reason it true but the statement is false. c. both the reason and statement are true. D. Both are false.

b) Photocopies and notes for all the syllabus topics. get the best books from libraries. Choose different books for different topics as no one book cover it all so well. You would need the best available in depth knowledge so go to specialist subjects

c)read the syallbus and get all the material first Make few copies of the syllabus and keep it always around. So that you know what you need

to know and what you dont know yet. Get all the material first in form of photo copies.

D) Be selective Be selective in what you read but that also means that you need to read really in depth what ever you do read.

4) Leave things you can not learn at all If I can not solve a problem of statistics like of standard daviation I would just leave it and hope and pray that the problem would not come in the exam.

Once you have got all the notes You will have to understand each topic in detail, some of the concepts you could understand, but there are dates, names and few terms which you shall write so that you could remember them (to prove your in depth knowledge). As well all the points so that you could then describe them and thus don't waste time thinking about them in the examination hall.
