GUIDELINES IN CHOOSING YOUR PLAYERS MAJESTICS 2009: BALL AND BOARD GAMES

SPORTS AND TECHNICALITIES COMMITTEE in collaboration with the Planning and Logistics Committee PROPOSED GUIDELINES

BALL GAMES 1. Each team must be composed of at least 4 members and at most 7 members with the number of males and females distributed accordingly. 2. In a basketball game, the allowed players inside the court must be 4-5 only. Players must be on time and properly attired. Failure to do so may forfeit the game and the team with the required number of players (on time) will win the game via a free throw shot. The player must shoot the ball in the basket in order for them to win the game. In case, he failed to do so, the other team will grab the win. 3. Players must observe punctuality. The games will be held on the tentative venue, Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) gymnasium at Governor Gutierrez Avenue, Cotabato City. 4. Proper attire must be observed. BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT FORMAT 1. 4 teams will play their single elimination round robin on the first day of the event. Top two teams with the highest number of wins will advance in the finals. In case of tie, point system is being applied. Points accumulated will be added and the team with the higher number of points will advance in the next round. 2. The game is played in 4 quarters. Each quarter is to be played in ten minutes. Only the game organizers or the assigned person must manipulate the score board and official tally sheets. 3. Substitutions are allowed, time outs and a halftime break. Time-outs are only limited to 30 seconds-1 minute and a halftime break must be only 5 minutes. 4. Game schedules may be posted as early as August or September 2011. 5. Guest players are not allowed to play.

VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT FORMAT 1. 4 teams will play their single elimination round robin on the first day of the event. Top two teams with the highest number of wins will advance in the finals. In case of tie, point system is being applied. Points accumulated will be added and the team with the higher number of points will advance in the next round. 2. Elimination round games are to be played in 3 sets-each set consisting of 25 points. In case the team made it in a 24-24 score, slide two principle is to be applied. In order for the team to win, they must get two out of the three sets being set as the standard format of the game. 3. There must be a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 6 players inside the court. Players must be on time and properly attired. Failure to do so may forfeit the game and the team with the required number of players (on time) will win the game via a service. The player must serve the ball across the net in order for them to win the game. In case, he failed to do so, the other team will grab the win. 4. Substitutions are allowed, time outs and a halftime break. Time-outs are only limited to 30 seconds-1 minute and a halftime break must be only 5 minutes. 5. Game schedules may be posted as early as August or September 2011. 6. Guest players are not allowed to play. 7. The game will commence right after the basketball games. 8. In the final round, the game is to be played in 5 sets-each of 20 points. The team must get 3 out of the 5 sets in order to grab the championship. Note: There are only two teams allowed to enter the GSIS gymnasium, the other two must be inside the Side-Outs badminton court and the YMCA bowling lanes located in front of Manongs and beside Notre Dame Hospital respectively for the simultaneous bowling and badminton games. After the teams completed their bowling and badminton games, they will right away shift venues to GSIS covered courts for their volleyball and basketball games. In addition to this, teams who already finished their games in the GSIS gym will transfer right away to YMCA bowling lanes and Side Out badminton courts for their bowling and badminton games respectively.

BOWLING TOURNAMENT FORMAT 1. There must be only 1 chosen player for this. The chosen player is not allowed to play the singles and doubles badminton game which is occurring simultaneously at the badminton court. 2. The game consists of 10 frames on which the player with the higher number of accumulated points will win the game. Top two players will advance in the finals. BADMINTON TOURNAMENT FORMAT 1. Badminton games are to be played in singles and doubles (co-ed). Players in this game are not allowed to play bowling anymore. 2. Singles consist of 3 sets-each set with a maximum of 21 points. Slide two principle is also applied. The player will only win if he gets 2 out of the 3 sets as being applied in the tournament. Doubles go the same way.
