Course Description
This course designed to provide the basic skills needed to be proficient at the Linux command line, focuses on the fundamental concepts and tools which make Linux so powerful. Students in this course commonly span a variety of skill levels, from beginners desiring a solid foundation in Linux to experienced users seeking to fill in gaps in their knowledge.Subjects focused on during this class include Linux filesystem and how to manipulate it; Linux basic notions of shell scripting such as pipes redirection, regular expressions; tools for performing complex tasks; the management of processes and jobs; vi - the standard Linux editor, and the ability to construct shell scripts to automate routine or difficult operations.
Audience
Users who are new to Linux and have no prior UNIX or command-line skills, who want to develop and practice the basic skills to use and control their own Enterprise Linux system distributions.
Prerequisites
Students are expected to be familiar and comfortable with computers. No familiarity with Linux or other UNIX operating systems is expected or required. Course Description
The class concentrates on the popular Enterprise Linux Operating System distribution, and covers subjects ranging from initial installation of Linux to day-to-day administrative tasks such as management of user accounts and disk space, and exploring the troubleshooting skill those system administrators will need to cope with unexpected system behaviour.
Audience
This course is ideal for those have gained basic skill with Linux or UNIX which taught in the BELT871 Fundamental to Enterprise Linux Courses and now wants to gain in depth knowledge on tasks as an Enterprise Linux system administrator.
Prerequisites
Students should have a solid grounding in UNIX concepts. Fundamentals skill such as an understanding of the Linux filesystem, process management, ability to manipulate and edit files is considered a must and will not be covered in class. Course Objective You will learn to: Installation using different Linux installation method. Understanding about Linux file concept and filesystem management. Understanding about booting process, system initialization and GRUB. Kernel and several kernel parameters. Network configuration using different tools. RPM Package Manager and automate mass installation. Understanding about user management and network user. Printing services. System administration tools make the system easier to maintain. X Window system and other features. Understanding about Logical Volum Manager (LVM), Raid, and Quota Troubleshooting.

Course Description
Students who interested in developing skills as network and security administrators will find this course invaluable. Session I: Troubleshooting and System Maintenance (2.5 hours) Session II: Installation and Configuration (3 hours)
Obtain the value of 80 or above on the sessions I, consisting of several issues that must be done and some problems that are not mandatory. Successfully complete all the issues that must be done in the first session of troubleshooting in the first 1 hour. Obtain a minimum value of 70% in session II.
Value and graduation status will be sent to participants within three working days after the exam.

Participants who had taken the exam but have not managed to pass. Participants who have taken the Standard Track (RH033 , RH133 , RH253) Participants who had had the old version of RHCE but want to update to the version of the RHCE RHEL 5. PParticipants who already have experience of administrative systems as an expert in his field and wants to have proof of his ability. We recommend for the experienced system administrators who have experience on UNIX systems to take RH300 prior knowledge to make migration from UNIX to Linux.
Experienced System Administrator with operating systems like Windows NT, Windows 2000, and NetWare who are not experienced with Linux or Unix should take the Standard Track of RH035 , RH133 , RH253 before taking this exam.
