Holon International Fashion Conference October 23-25, 2011 Holon Municipality and Design Museum Holon, in cooperation with

Textile and Fashion Industries Association, Shenkar College of Engineering and Design and France Israel Chamber of Commerce, announce Holon International Fashion Conference to be held on October 23-25, 2011 in Design Museum Holon and produced by Benny Moran Productions. The fashion conference will focus the meeting points of fashion with different cultural areas in an era of innovative technological developments and the relationships of the local fashion industry with the international ones, both in Mediterranean countries and worldwide. It will aim at assisting the Israeli fashion industry in strengthening its relationships with the international ones, and introduce the newest innovations in the field. Among other topics, the conference will address the influence of the information age on fashion design, marketing, commerce and distribution. It will present the development of the Israeli textile industry alongside with international trends; examine the different links between fashion and other disciplines of design (e.g. product design, interior design, cars and accessories); reveal the connections between the transition back to traditional home-made craftsmanship and the pace and capabilities of design and production introduced by the digital world, and present the changing image of fashion from photography to video and from magazines to the web. Content (Partial) Hosting several senior figures from the Parisian fashion scene and the world of fashion media. Hosting London-based Irish milliner Philip Treacy (for a lecture and workshop). Presentation of the Masion de la Creation project by Mediterranean fashion designers, including a show, presentation, roundtable, fashion show (see details below).

Digital image from fashion photography through video campaigns to 3D movies and holograms Fashion Comes out of the Closet: Fashion specialists discussing the different disciplines of design: Interior design, product design, car design, hotel design etc. Maison de la Creation Based in Marseilles, France, the project brings together young fashion designers from different Mediterranean countries, seeking to assist them in developing independent brands and founding a social, professional and industrial network. It is the first year Israeli designers are invited to take part in this project, alongside with designers from Turkey, Greece, Algeria, Tunis, Morocco etc. The project was launched in May this year and its Israeli representative is Ella Eisenberg. The peak of the project will take place in December, in an event to be held at the Fashion Museum in Marseilles, where designers will present the new models they have created. Among those involved in the projects are the director of Designer Days in Paris, Alain Lardet, legendary designer Azzedine Alaa, president and CEO of Christian Dior Couture Sidney Toledano and haute-couture consultant Jean Jacques Picard (who co-founded Christian Lacroix).
