Business Intelligence Masters Program The SetFocus Business Intelligence Masters Program is an intensive, handson, project oriented program where participants acquire knowledge of these tools and gain valuableexperience putting the Business Intelligence skill set to use in a simulated work environment. The project includes the following: Design an ETL process to build a staging warehouse incorporating data from three different sources. This process includes creating the tables to hold the input data, performing data conversion on the input files to SQL Server data types, creating calculated fields for inclusion into the OLTP target, and design processes to determine if insert or update of a row was needed. Also included was building scheduling packages, defining integration flow, log data error exceptions and orphaned data, define Database Maintenance Plans, and send email notifications of the package execution results. Create an Analysissolution based upon the data in the staging structure. This is to include a cube with multiple dimensions, measures, calculations, key performance indicators (KPIs), to analyze and measure the profitability and costs. Created MDX queries according to business requirements. Create reports using SQL Server Reporting Services, and Excel. These were detail and summary reports, line charts, trend analysis reports and sub-reports. The results were deployed to dashboards in MOSS 2007 Report Center producing different summary results based on user view and role membership. Created score cards and reports using Microsoft Office Performance Point Server 2007 Dashboard Designer extracting data from SQL Server 2008 OLAP data source and deployed to SharePoint sites. Studied and reviewed application of Kimball data warehouse methodology across various industries. Worked with data-handling scenarios, such as multiple hierarchies, data-driven KPI goals, sourced either from dimension attributes or fact tables, handling Type-2 slowly changing dimensions. Possess solid knowledge of writing tuning and optimizing T-SQL queries.

Verifying that the processes would deliver results that the users brought up in initial conceptual design studies. Provided data verification using TSQL queries for adhoc requests. BI reporting using Excel withPowerPivot. Created test case scenarios covering the modifications and also regression testing to the existing systems. Developed documentation/manuals that summarized the system processes and how to support the new processes. Developed training guides to assist the users in learning the new processes.
