Professional Experience

07/2007 – now Schlumberger Ltd. / WesternGeco, Software Engineer

Oslo Technology Centre, Norway
I am developing software for recording and QC of a seismic acquisition data in a medium size team of 10,
on a real-time system environment (a mix of SMP machines and Linux cluster). The system processes
data from hundreds of thousands of sensors making the real data stream of hundreds Mb/s. The core of
Recording system is written in C++ while GUIs in Java. The major technologies which are used are:
multithreading, socket programming, XML parsers and some of CORBA.

03/2006 - 08/2006 R&D, Institute for Ecology of Industrial Areas Software Engineer
Katowice, Poland
I was developing pollution forecast concentration web scripts in PHP based on neural networks and
applications in Borland C++ Builder. I learned how to serve RS-232 device with windows threads
and how to connect to MySQL database with libraries instead of ODBC.

07/2005 - 09/2005 Publishing House “Librus” Software Engineer

Katowice, Poland
I wrote programs up to 3000 lines in Borland Delphi 2005 for internal use and I participated 3 months in
team of 4 developing, over 6 months, an application to collect school marks and print diplomas.

Life Experience
06/2004 –09/2004 Marshalls of Versailles Inc Voyager
Versailles, MO, USA McDonald's crew member
I dreamt about going to USA and I found Work&Travel program for students suitable as I met new people;
saw some big cities and earned some cash. I worked in McDonald’s to support myself.

The FPGA based converter of video signal to digital frames as MSc Eng Thesis

I am working on a FPGA based converter of a video signal. The project consists of three boards which are intended
to be separate and replaceable modules. A power board is to provide six different voltages to supply the system. An
analogue board is for A/D conversion of the signal from two video cameras. Third module performs a JPEG
compression of the raw data on a Xilinx Spartan 3E FPGA device using an external 1Mb SRAM as a buffer. It also
contains an ARM7S microprocessor acting as a supervisor of FPGA and the A/D conversion module, and providing
communication with a GPRS modem and a PC through RS-232 interface.
