LAB 1
Instructions
Verify that all configurations have been cleared before you load initial configurations onto the lab routers, backbone routers, and switches. Please examine the provided diagrams and read the entire lab from start to finish before you commence work. Read the directions very carefully to ensure you are doing what is being asked of you. This concept is very important when you take the CCIE R&S lab exam. Load the initial configuration files for routers. Refer to the diagram for the interface connections to other routers. The frame relay switch configuration is a full mesh. No configuration changes on the backbone routers are required to complete this lab. Please assume that you do not have access to the backbone routers as that will be the case in the real lab Follow the guidelines below unless otherwise specified: Your network should use only the assigned IP address range. Do not change any subnet masks to accomplish a task. There should be no static routes, default routes, default

networks, or any such routes injected by use of a routing protocol, and no routes pointing to Null0 unless expressly permitted. You are not allowed to use secondary IP addresses or add

Loopbacks that are not specified For technical discussion about this Lab visit www.RouterIE.com

Section 1: Implement Layer 2 Technologies

Task 1.1

4 Points

Configure frame relay between routers R1 and R5 then R5 and R2. Create s0/0/0.15 on R5 as a point to point sub interface. Create s0/0/0.25 on R5 as a point to point sub interface. Do not create a sub interface on either R1 or R2. Do not use dynamic mappings You may only use the DLCIs indicated on the topology diagram

Task 1.2

4 Points

Configure frame relay between routers R7 and R3 then R7 and R4. Create s0/0/0.37 on R7 as a point to point sub interface. Create s0/0/0.47 on R5 as a point to point sub interface. Do not create a sub interface on either R3 or R4. Do not use dynamic mappings. You may only use the DLCIs indicated on the topology diagram.

Task 1.4

4 Points

Configure SW1, SW2, SW3, and SW4 to immediately delete dynamically learned MAC address entries on a per-port basis upon receiving a topology change.

Configure SW4 as the root switch for VLANS 11,12,56,67,100,200,300 and 400.

Configure SW4 as a VTP Server for the domain CCIE. Configure SW1, SW2, and SW3 as VTP clients. Use a password of CCIE.

VLAN Port assignments are stipulated in the table below:-

Configure SW1 and SW2 to bundle ports 19 and 20 into a single logical link. Use a Cisco proprietary protocol to achieve this. Place ports 19 and 20 on both switches into an active negotiating state.

Configure switches SW3 and SW4 to bundle ports 19 and 20 into a single logical link. Configure these ports so that no negotiation takes place.

Configure switches SW1 and SW3 to bundle ports 22 and 21 into a single logical link. Use an industry standard protocol to achieve this. Configure ports 21 and 22 on SW1 to start actively negotiating the link creation. Configure ports 21 on 22 on SW3 to respond to the packets sent, but not to start the negotiation process.

Place the port channels created into permanent trunking mode and ensure these ports never send DTP packets. Use the IEEE standard trunking protocol

Section 2: Implement IPv4

Task 2.1

4 Points

Configure RIP as indicated in the diagram. Configure RIP on R1 so a "show ip protocols" would produce the following output:Routing Protocol is "rip" Outgoing update filter list for all interfaces is not set Incoming update filter list for all interfaces is not set Sending updates every 30 seconds, next due in (X) seconds Invalid after 120 seconds, hold down 240, flushed after 240 Redistributing: rip, ospf 1 Default version control: send version 2, receive version 2 Interface Send Recv Triggered RIP Key-chain FastEthernet0/0 2 2 FastEthernet0/1 2 2 Loopback0 2 2 Automatic network summarization is not in effect Maximum path: 5 Routing for Networks: 10.0.0.0 Routing Information Sources: Gateway Distance Last Update Distance: (default is 120) Address Wild mask Distance List 10.1.100.100 0.0.0.0 115

BB2 is advertising a range of 10.0.0.0 routes. Configure SW1 to filter all 10.0.0.0/8 prefixes with mask equal to /26, greater than /27 and less than or equal to /30.

Task 2.2

4 Points

Configure RIP on R3 so as to advertise the S0/0/0 interface. Configure R3 so that a "show ip route" on SW3 would include the summary below. Do not use the command "ip summary address rip" as part of your answer.
R 24.0.0.0/8 [120/1] via 10.2.100.3, 00:00:22, Vlan300

Task 2.3

4 Points

Configure EIGRP as indicated in the network diagram. Advertise loopback 0 on R5, R6, and R7 into EIGRP.

Authenticate routing updates between R2 and SW2. Use a key chain of "Cisco" with a key string of "Cisco".

Configure SW2 to respond to all queries for summaries, connected routes, redistributed static routes, external routes, and internal routes with the message "inaccessible".

Configure R6 so that a "show ip eigrp topology 10.5.5.0/24 would appear as follows:-

Do not modify delay or bandwidth interface settings.

Task 2.4

4 Points

Configure R4 so that it will detect that SW4 is no longer available in the shortest possible time.
