A thing is a silent and faithful partner and perhaps that's why we have a more personal relationship towards some things than to many people. Our AUTHOR is a very personal thing for us.
Behind every thing, every brand, there are particular people. Their behaviour, all of their attitudes and opinions determine the spiritual dimension of the given brand.
We live in an era where morality and ethical principles of behaviour are replaced by imperfect legal rules and advertising slogans. Everything that isn't prohibited is allowed.
We have a different view of the world. We try to be the best professionals when creating the brand and preparing our collections but at the same time we intend to maintain a certain amount of romanticism and idealism. AUTHOR FRAME CARBON TECHNOLOGY In collaboration with our producer of carbon frames (Carbotec Ind. Ltd.), our aim has been to ensure that carbon frames are designed to provide the best results in performance, weight, comfort as well as appearance and profiling. Another task was to ensure steady and reliable production of quality that would guarantee accord between the final products and the original design and expectations. To meet our objectives, we have implemented numerous new production and software technologies into the production of carbon frame for the model collection. These include: 1. 2. 3. 4. 1. High Toughness Resin (HTR) The HTR is an exclusive material, produced in collaboration with one of the most advanced carbon fibre manufacturers. HTR helps us to decrease the weight of our road bicycle frames for 120 g and a new MTB hard tail frame by 250 g compared to their recent counterparts. Implementation of this high-toughness resin supplement into our carbon portfolio brings the following advantages: 10 to 15% decrease in weight while maintaining frame strength and rigidity; up to 20% increase in frame resistance to impact. 2. Ethyl Poly Styrene (EPS) Using this thermoplastic material a styrene polymer inside frame joints enables us to produce more stable and consistent products of the highest quality. Benefits of EPS: decrease in stress concentrations in inner layers of the frame; greater dimensional stability of the frame and smoother inner layers in frame joints; solid base (template) for inner frame layers before application of subsequent layers (lay-up).

3. THERMO PLASTIC MESH (TPM) The primary objective is to smooth out the inner frame layers, which are the potential sites of small fissures and cracks. Thermoplastic mesh qualities: prevention of formation and/or propagation of fissures; increased rigidity of the whole frame structure and resistance to cracks due to an internal barrier protecting the inner layers.
4. FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS (FEA) The finite element analysis is a numerical method used for simulation of stress and deformation curves for a physical model. The principle of the method is in substitution of continuous curve with discrete (finite number of) elements, with parameters defined for specific nodes, or surfaces. In our case, the bicycle frame as the stressed model is replaced with separate surfaces into which the calculation is divided for purposes of simplification. FEA is used in particular to check completed designs of equipment or structures or to determine the critical (most stressed) points of a structure.

Due to the weight reason and higher side stiffness we had been coming out with the 2nd generation of carbon frames and we stay with this one also for a model year 2011. The reason to stay is that we are absolutely satisfied. The prime property of carbon is the absorption of roughness, shocks, but naturally, also lower weight and the chance to arbitrarily shape all tube profiles. Another advantage of carbon material is it high stiffness, strength and lower extent of the fatigue compare to duralumin. The frame comfort is also enhanced by seat stay CARBON FLEX STAY DESIGN. That one connects seat tube and drop outs and because of that is absorbing the terrain roughness from the rear wheel. Shape, profile and seat stay carbon material is just helping to absorb these vibrations. We are going to use again UD final carbon frame layer. For another side stiffness and frame strength is the head tube compatible with 1,5 taper fork steerer tube.
ADVANTAGES OF 1.5TAPER FORK STEERER TUBE: 1. more balanced distribution of the flexural stress in the taper fork steerer tube 2. lower weight of column (by 10-20 g) compared to straight 1.5, or 1 1/8 steerer tube 3. more optimum (larger) column diameter in the point of fixing New is also applying the alloy stickers on the chain stay and frame down tube to protect the frame tubes from chain falling of the chainwheels.

AUTHOR FULL SUSPENSION BIKES DESIGN For model year 2011 we are coming with two completely new carbon frame platforms: A-RAY and ERA. Both frames utilize four-pivot construction. Of course, each frame is designed separately having its own specific goal. Even so they have several elements in common: The carbon frame of classical triangular style with lightly arched top frame tube which is followed up optically by a deflected seat stay. A low front triangle with great sloping to secure a rigid and strong front part of the frame The lower biaxial frame tube for higher strength of the front triangle in the exposed points Cable guide for both derailleurs through the top frame tube is elegant, practical, and it does not disturb frames appearance and design Both frames will be offered in 3 sizes: 17, 19 and 21 The conical head tube compatible with the 1.5 fork column Duralumin protector for down tube and chain stay against abrasion when the chain falls down accidentally

AUTHOR CARBON REVOLT 29 FRAME DESIGN For the collection of 2011 we created a new carbon frame, a so called hard tail designated specifically for the 29 wheels. Our aim was to launch into the market an elegantly designed frame interesting in shape and profile which is affordably priced being all the same equipped with all the elements of the present technical trends. In its shape, the frame is based on the strength and rigidity requirements for the frames construction: 1. the lower biaxial frame tube for higher strength of the front triangle in the exposed points 2. massive area of the bottom bracket shell for immediate transmission of energy from pedal into the bicycle forward movement 3. straight legs of the seat stay for enhanced rigidity and minimizing the lateral torsion 4. chain stays high and straight leg profiles for a maximum rigidity of the rear structure 5. the narrowed top frame tube connected to the seat tube to enhance comfort The REVOLT 29 model will be offered in 3 sizes (17, 19 and 21) with the weight of 1.490 g

For model year 2011 we extend using of 2 nd generation hard tail 26 frame for models REVOLT and MODUS, so you can find this frame together with MAGNUM, INTROVERT, MASTER on totally 5 models. So, there is the same frame in the same geometry, frame tubes shape, but in four different quality carbon levels (A+, A, B and C). The frame is made using the AUTHOR MONOCOQUE CARBON TECHNOLOGY, nevertheless, for model year 2010 we were introducing numerous new production and software technologies employed in manufacture of this frame. Further increase in rigidity and strength of the frame is secured by the head tube compatible with 1,5 taper fork steerer tube ADVANTAGES OF THE FORK STEERER TUBE TAPER 1.5: 1. more evenly distributed bending stress in the taper fork 2. lower fork steerer tube weight (by 10 to 20 g) compared to straight 1.5, or 1 1/8 steerer tube 3. optimum (greater) diameter of the fork steerer tube at the point of steering tube insertion (i.e. at the level of the top fork crown), where the bending stress is greatest when braking. New is also applying the alloy stickers on the chain stay and down tube to protect the frame tubes from chain falling of the chainwheels. The right chain stay outer side is narrowed to be capable of containing 30, alternatively 20 speeds (the space for a double or triple gear shifters)

Ladies frames for the MTB ASL (Author Sport Lady) category are based in their profiling on mens frames. After three years, we are changing the profiling of the constituent frame tubes. We have introduced our own moulds, thus obtaining original alloy frames of attractive design conforming to our requirements on the shape, cross section, materials used, and strength parameters. They are modelled on the carbon frame for the so-called 2 nd generation mountain bikes, a novelty for 2010. In addition, the frames are enhanced with newly designed bridges for the chain and seat stays. The materials used are the triedand-tested double-butted 6061 T6 alloy for the TRACTION ASL, KINETIC ASL and BASIC ASL, and triple-butted 6061 T6 alloy for the INSTINCT ASL.
New is also frame graphic and colors on this bike category. We put a big effort to get it in harmony with other components like saddle, stem, handlebars, and fork.

The specific shape of the down tube utilises the twisting of the horizontal flattening of the lower section verging into vertical flattening in its top section. The BTP system enables the increase of the side stiffness of the connection of the down tube with the BB shell, thus eliminating the load in the connection with the head tube.

After usage of carbon material on generation I and II of road and also later MTB frames, we came with this frame material to be used also on 2009 Cross models SYNERGY and AVION and we are going to stay with it also for 2011 model year. The frame is made applying the AUTHOR MONOCOQUE CARBON TECHNOLOGY, which is in fact the connection of the front triangle to the chain and seat stays into one monocoque shell frame design. This secures a more robust, stiffer, and the safest possible connection. Another benefit of carbon is the higher rigidity, strength and lower material fatigue compared to duralumin and also the chance to arbitrarily shape all tube profiles. Frame weight is 1.500g, even though the frame weight hadnt been the priority while creating this frame design. It was the comfort and design elegance. Frame will be offered in 4 sizes (16, 18, 20 and 22). New is also applying the alloy stickers on the chain stay and down tube to protect the frame tubes from chain falling of the chainwheels.

Frames for the touring models are designed and built in order to provide maximum comfort, excellent control and high use value. These atypical frames are substantially different from the other bicycles in our offer. The high degree of detail of the frame structural elements is justified by easy and safe installation of bicycle accessories: various types of racks, chain guards, lights, and mudguards. The SYMPHONY, DYNASTY, SEANCE and MAJESTY models offer the well-established LOW STEP THROUGH frame design, which makes it easier to get on the bicycle. At the same time, the special open shape of the front triangle is optimised to the highest strength level attainable, guaranteeing compliance with strict rigidity standards for frame design. The ADVENT and TRIUMPH employ a standard frame shape, meeting the requirements on heavy-duty expedition bicycles. The optimum tube shaping increases the comfort and strength precisely in those parts of the frame that ask for it. The bottom frame tube is twice rotated using the BIAXIAL TUBE PROFILE technology, and the joint with the head tube has the indispensable reinforcing brace guaranteeing the required strength in this part of the frame. The great quality of all the touring frames is also achieved thanks to the high level of alloy material 6061. The originality of the frames is guaranteed by the use of our own standards, developed technologies and tested geometries.

Frames for childrens bicycles have to conform to strength standards and safety criteria as much as frames for the other categories do. Here, too, we put a great emphasis on their perfect geometry, tube profiling, use of appropriate materials and, last but not least, attractive design. In fact that is the main thing that decides when choosing a childrens bike. We have fitted the models JET and ULTIMA with new alloy frames. The frame for the JET has obtained a more attractive profiling; the ULTIMA is now lighter compared to the previous hi-ten frame. The SONIC is an absolute novelty in our childrens bicycle collection. Both its frame and design are based on the new profiling of frame tubes for our middle and upper-class mountain bikes. We have introduced our own moulds for these frames, making them both original and attractively profiled. They are alloy replica of the carbon frame that was a novelty for the 3 largest MTB models in 2010. The material used is the tried-and-tested triple-butted 6061 T6 dural. Nevertheless, the frame elements in these frames remain preserved, so it still holds that the BTP - BIAXIAL TUBE PROFILE refers to a specific shape of the bottom frame tube, employing a rotation from a horizontal flattening in its lower part to a vertical flattening in the upper segment. The BTP makes it possible to increase the lateral rigidity in the joint between the down frame tube and the bottom bracket shell, and along with the traditional gusset, it reduces strain on the joint with the head tube.
