The lion with these high qualities has four characteristics truth, discipline, meditation and mercy as feet. Hence it is called as the King of the forest. And Lion the king of animals is the vehicle of our Goddess. In this kaliyuga, Sri Jeya durga and Sri Rudraammsa durga appearing in this world in the form of Diyana Swaroopam keeps blessing her devotees in the name Sri Raja Durga.. Sri Raja Durga setting victory in each and every endeavour, at this age of kaliyuga has no abode across the length and breadth of India other than Sripuram or the so called Vanmeegapuram which is a predominant sapthavidanga sthala the Thiruvarur a place which would fetch Mukthi for all people who are born here. Sri Raja Durga at this place dwells in a separate temple in the name Sri Raja durga. In practice for worship Durga devis standing posture is housed in a Maada gopuram situated in the Northern Prahara of all Shiva and Vishnu temples. It is found in Raguvamsa Kaviyam epic written by Kalidasar that Sri Rama worshipped Sri Raja Durga Devi with affection, heart-felt love and bhakthi before his travel to Lankapuri to win the battle with Sri Ravana.
