Applications of Traditional Chinese Medicine Lesson 1

1}This is what nutritional advice I would give for someone with Candida, foods rich in carbohydrates must be eaten in moderation, avoid potatoes, sweet potatoes, yams, both types of sugar & sweeteners, milk, egg & red meat. 2} Foods that lubricate the intestines are spinach, banana, sesame seed / oil, honey, pears, apples, peach & prune. Foods that promote bowel movement are papaya, cabbage, peas, black sesame & coconut, bran, figs, asparagus, rice, wheat & caster oil. 3} The treatment for a cough would be: B} This Thyme syrup is suitable for a cough. Ingredients: 150g Thymus vulgaris 1 litre of water 500g sugar Method: 1} Place thymus vulgaris in an enamel or stainless steel pan cover with water & simmer for 30 mins. 2} Filter the decoction off, putting the herb in the bin and simmer the liquid down to 250ml. 3} Stir the sugar until dissolved and allow to cool, bottle up & label. 4} Chrysanthemum & Radix glycyrrhizae is used to treat eye congestion, dizziness & vertigo. The cultivated type extends the life expectancy, the wild plant sedates fire. 5} The lotion is water based which have cooling properties & are used when creams would be to greasy. The lotion for Thrush {oral & vaginal} Ingredients 100ml of rose water 5ml myrrh 5ml tincture of marigold

Method 1} Mix all ingredients together 2} Apply to the mouth or vagina as a douche, use as & when required. Dose - 1 x 5ml tsps in 300ml of warm water. They can last up to 2 years. 7} Decoction Is strong like a tisane made with cold water that is used for herbs like comfrey. Let it stand and by morning it forms a jelly like substance. Infusion Is the best way to make a remedy as the plant is at its most active, pour hot water & let it stand covered for at least 10 minutes. 8} The following nutrients contain this: Iron 1} Spinach 2} Red meat 3} Whole grains & enriched grains Iodine 1} Kelp 2} Bread 3} Milk
