3 Voraussetzungen
3.1 Installation
Für die Installation des SICAM Device Managers sind folgende Voraussetzungen
erforderlich:
• Windows Administrator-Rechte
(Lese- und Schreib-Rechte auf das Dateisystem und die Windows Registry)
• NTFS Dateisystem
• Es muss ein Drive C:\-Laufwerk vorhanden sein
• DirectX Features aktiviert

3.2 Software
Für den Betrieb des SICAM Device Managers werden folgende 64-Bit-
Betriebssysteme unterstützt:

Für den Betrieb des SICAM Device Managers sind folgende Voraussetzungen
erforderlich

• Entsprechende Berechtigungen für die Gruppe “Benutzer” unter Microsoft

Windows
• TCP/IP ist installiert

Stellen Sie für einen reibungslosen Betrieb des SICAM Device Managers sicher,
dass
DirectX Funktionen auf Ihrem Rechner aktiviert sind.

• Klicken Sie auf Start, geben Sie im Suchfeld dxdiag ein und drücken Sie Enter.
• Überprüfen Sie In der Registerkarte System unter System Information die
DirectX Version, z.B.: DirectX 11.
• Klicken Sie Nächste Seite
Unter DirectX Funktionen sind alle Funktionen aktiviert:

• Beenden Sie das DirectX-Diagnoseprogramm.

3.3 Hardware
Für das Arbeiten mit dem SICAM Device Manager V3.85, benötigen Sie einen PC
oder Laptop mit folgenden Minimalanforderungen:

Hinweis: beim Speicherausbau des PC ist der Speicherbedarf und auch der
Festplattenplatz des Betriebssystems sowie alle parallel zum SICAM Device
Manager laufenden Applikationen (z.B. Microsoft Office usw.) bzw.
Speicherverbrauch von OnBoard-Grafikkarten zu berücksichtigen.

• DVD-ROM- Laufwerk
• USB-Port

3.4 Firmware

Hinweis:
SICAM Device Manager unterstützt ausschließlich digital signierte
Firmware.
Mit Auslieferung von Geräten der SICAM A8000 Serie ist
sämtliche für einen ordnungsgemäßen Betrieb erforderliche
Firmware auf der SD-Karte der Geräte abgelegt. Diese Firmware
ist nicht digital signiert.
Die Verwendung von digital signierter Firmware wird dringend
empfohlen (ausgeliefert mit SICAM Device Manager).

4 Installation
4.1 ALM Installation
Während der Installation des SICAM Device Managers wird der Automation License
Manager automatisch mit installiert.

Wichtige Information über Installation und Gebrauch des ALM finden Sie im
almreadme.rtf und im almapp_b.pdf (Programming and Operating Manual, nur in
Englisch verfügbar) nach der SICAM Device Manager-Installation:
C:/Programme/Siemens/Automation License Manager bzw.
C:/Programme/Siemens/Automation License Manager/manual

Hinweis: Die Datei ReadMe_OSS des SICAM Device Managers befindet sich
ebenfalls im Installationsverzeichnis.

Beachten Sie, dass nach jeder (Neu-)Installation des ALM ein Neustart erforderlich
ist.
Nach dem Neustart läuft der ALM-Dienst. Öffnen Sie services.msc, um den
laufenden ALM-Dienst zu überprüfen:

4.2 SICAM Device Manager Installation

Note
Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x64) und
Siemens Automation License Manager werden automatisch installiert.

Folgende Installationsanweisungen sind sowohl für den Upgrade auf eine

Vollversion als auch für die Installation einer Maintenance-Version gültig.

Ein Upgrade auf die neue Version des SICAM Device Managers ist immer möglich,
sofern eine vorhergehende Vollversion (Haupt- oder untergeordnete Version)
bereits installiert ist.
Alle Benutzereinstellungen werden beibehalten, Gerätetreiber werden aktualisiert,
wenn die nächsthöhere Version neuere Gerätetreiber enthält.

Bei einem Downgrade des SICAM Device Managers müssen Sie frühere Versionen
des SICAM Device Managers entfernen, siehe Kapitel 5.1 SICAM Device Manager
entfernen.
Für die Installation des SICAM Device Managers sind Windows Administrator-

 Rechte erforderlich.

• Legen Sie die SICAM Device Manager-DVD in das DVD-Laufwerk ein

• Entpacken Sie die runtergeladene Software in ein temporäres Verzeichnis.
• Starten Sie das Setup-Programm im MS Windows Explorer durch einen
Doppelklick auf SETUP.EXE im Stammverzeichnis Ihres DVD-Laufwerks
• Folgen Sie den Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm, um den SICAM Device
Manager zu installieren

Die Installation des SICAM Device Managers erfordert immer einen Neustart.

• Starten Sie den SICAM Device Manager vom Start-Menu -> SIEMENS Energy

oder

• Doppelklicken Sie auf das Symbol SICAM Device Manager auf Ihrem Desktop:

4.3 Installation der Lizenzen

Allgemeine Information über SICAM Device Manager-Lizenzen

Jede bestellte Lizenz erlaubt den Gebrauch des SICAM Device Managers auf
einem System.

Unterschiedliche Lizenzen unterstützen unterschiedliche Funktionalitäten des

SICAM Device Managers:

• SICAM Device Manager Basic (6MF78001FB00)

für das Engineering von Geräten der SICAM A8000 Serie (ohne Logik-Editor)
• SICAM Device Manager Standard (6MF78001FS00)
für das Engineering von Geräten der SICAM A8000 Serie (mit Logik-Editor)
• SICAM Device Manager Standard (Upgrade) (6MF78001GS00)
(Upgrade von Basic- auf Standard-Lizenz)
Wählen Sie im ALM den Menüeintrag License Key > Upgrade

SICAM Device Manager-Lizenzen werden auf USB-Sticks ausgeliefert. Die Lizenz

wird auf ein System mit dem Automation License Manager (ALM) übertragen.
Wenn der SICAM Device Manager beim Starten erkennt, dass bisher noch keine
Lizenz installiert wurde, stehen Ihnen verschiedene Optionen zur Verfügung:

1. Installieren Sie eine Lizenz für den SICAM Device Manager

(SICAM_Device_Manager-Basic oder SICAM_Device_Manager-Standard).

2. Installieren Sie eine Demo-Version (SICAM_Device_Manager-Trial) zum

Gebrauch des SICAM Device Managers für 21 Tage. Nach Ablauf von 21 Tagen
benötigen Sie eine gültige Lizenz für den SICAM Device Manager, um Ihre Arbeit
fortzusetzen.

 Installieren einer Lizenz vom USB-Stick

Um eine Lizenz zu installieren, stecken Sie einfach den USB-Stick an einen freien
USB-Port Ihres Rechners an. Einen USB-Stick erhalten Sie durch den Erwerb einer
Vollversion (z.B. V3.00).
Der USB-Stick wird vom Automation License Manager sofort erkannt und
angezeigt.
Selektieren Sie im Verzeichnisbaum links den USB-Stick, der die Lizenzen enthält.
Die Liste der verfügbaren Lizenzen wird auf der rechten Seite des Automation
License Manager angezeigt.

1. Selektieren Sie die entsprechende Lizenz

2. Öffnen Sie das Kontextmenü (rechte Maus). Wählen Sie den Eintrag Transfer…
3. Selektieren Sie im folgenden Dialog eine Ihrer lokalen Festplatte
4. Klicken Sie OK , um die Lizenz auf Ihre Festplatte zu spielen
5. Schließen Sie den Automation License Manager und kehren Sie zum SICAM
Device Manager zurück.

Hinweis: Die Installation der Lizenzen ist auch mittels Drag & Drop oder Copy &
Paste möglich, siehe auch almreadme.rtf

5 Produkte entfernen
Sowohl ALM als auch SICAM Device Manager müssen einzeln entfernt werden.
Folgender Ablauf wird empfohlen:

5.1 SICAM Device Manager entfernen

Note
Es wird empfohlen, vor dem Entfernen des SICAM Device Managers eine
Sicherungskopie zu erstellen.
Sämtliche Daten vom SICAM Device Manager werden entfernt und
können nicht wiederhergestellt werden.

• Selektieren Sie Siemens SICAM Device Manager in der

Systemsteuerung -> Programme und Funktionen
• Wählen Sie den Eintrag Deinstallieren/ändern im Kontextmenü
• Klicken Sie Weiter
• Wählen Sie die Option Entfernen im Dialog Installation reparieren oder
entfernen
• Klicken Sie Weiter
• Folgen Sie den Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm, um den SICAM Device
Manager zu entfernen
• Klicken Sie Beenden

Nach der Deinstallation des SICAM Device Managers ist ein Neustart erforderlich.

5.2 ALM entfernen
Hinweis
Es wird empfohlen, vor dem Entfernen des ALM die Lizenzen auf einem
USB.Stick zu sichern.

• Selektieren Sie Siemens Automation License Manager in der

Systemsteuerung -> Programme und Funktionen
• Wählen Sie den Eintrag Deinstallieren im Kontextmenü
• Folgen Sie den Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm, um den ALM zu entfernen

Nach der Deinstallation des ALM ist ein Neustart erforderlich.

3 Preconditions
3.1 Installation
For the installation of the SICAM Device Manager, the following preconditions
are required:
• Windows administrator privileges
(Read and Write permissions on the file system and the Windows Registry)
• NTFS file system
• Drive C:\ must exist
• DirectX features enabled

3.2 Software
For the operation of the SICAM Device Manager, the following 64-bit operating
systems are supported:

*) In order to enhance resilience of the system, it is recommended to disable
DirectX features when using SICAM Device Manager in a virtual machine.

For the use of SICAM Device Manager the following preconditions are required:

• User permissions of the group "User" under Microsoft Windows

• Installed TCP/IP

In order to allow correct functioning of the SICAM Device Manager make sure that
DirectX Features are enabled on your computer.

• Click the Start button, type dxdiag in the search box, and then press Enter.
• Click the System tab, and then, under System Information, check the DirectX
version number, e.g.: DirectX 11.
• Click Next page
Under DirectX Features all features are enabled:

• Exit the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.

3.3 Hardware
To work with SICAM Device Manager V3.85, you need a PC or laptop computer
with the following minimum specifications:

Note: The memory requirements and also the hard disk space of the operating
system and all applications running parallel to the SICAM Device Manager (e.g.
Microsoft Office etc.) and/or memory usage of onboard graphic adapters have to
be considered.

• DVD-ROM drive
• USB port

3.4 Firmware

Hint
SICAM Device Manager supports digitally signed
firmware only.
With delivery of devices of SICAM A8000 Series, all
firmwares required for the correct operation are stored
on SD card of the devices. These firmwares are not
digitally signed.
It is strongly recommended that digitally signed firmware
(delivered with SICAM Device Manager) is used.

4 Installation
4.1 ALM Installation
Automation License Manager will be installed automatically during installation of
SICAM Device Manager.

Important information on installing and using the ALM is provided in almreadme.rtf

and in almapp_b.pdf (Programming and Operating Manual, available in English
only) after installation of SICAM Device Manager:

C:/ Program Files /Siemens/Automation License Manager and

C:/ Program Files /Siemens/Automation License Manager/manual

Note: The ReadMe_OSS file of SICAM Device Manager can be found in the
installation directory as well.

Note that any (re-)installation of ALM requires a reboot.

After reboot, ALM service is running. Open services.msc to check the running ALM
service:

4.2 SICAM Device Manager Installation

Note
Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x64) and
Siemens Automation License Manager will be installed automatically.

The following installation instructions are valid for both updating a full release and
installing a maintenance release.

An upgrade to the new version of SICAM Device Manager is always possible if a

previous full release (major or minor version) is already installed.
All user-settings are maintained, device-drivers will be updated if the version
newer than the installed one contains more recent device drivers.

In case of a downgrade of SICAM Device Manager you have to remove previous

versions of SICAM Device Manager, refer to chapter 5.1 Removing SICAM Device
Manager.

For the installation of SICAM Device Manager Windows administrator

 privileges are required.

• Insert the SICAM Device Manager DVD into a DVD drive

• Unpack the downloaded software to a temporary directory
• Start the setup program with the MS Windows Explorer by double-clicking on the
SETUP.EXE in root directory of your DVD drive
• Follow the instructions on the screen in order to install the SICAM Device Manager

The installation of SICAM Device Manager requires always a reboot.

• Start SICAM Device Manager from the Start menu -> SIEMENS Energy

or

• Double click on the icon SICAM Device Manager on your desktop:

4.3 Installing Licenses

General Information about SICAM Device Manager Licenses

Each ordered license allows the usage of SICAM Device Manager on one
system.

Different licenses providing different functionality of SICAM Device Manager are

available.

• SICAM Device Manager Basic (6MF78001FB00)

for engineering of devices of SICAM A8000 Series (without logic editor)
• SICAM Device Manager Standard (6MF78001FS00)
for engineering of devices of SICAM A8000 Series (with logic editor)
• SICAM Device Manager Standard (Upgrade) (6MF78001GS00)
(Upgrade from Basic- to Standard-License)
In the main menu, select License Key > Upgrade

SICAM Device Manager licenses are delivered on USB sticks. The license is
transferred onto a system using Automation License Manager (ALM).
Each time SICAM Device Manager starts and recognizes that no license key is
installed so far, it provides you with several options:

1. Install a license key for SICAM Device Manager

(SICAM_Device_Manager-Basic or SICAM_Device_Manager-Standard).

2. Start a trial period (SICAM_Device_Manager-Trial), which allows you to use

SICAM Device Manager in Trial mode for 21 days on the system. After 21 days,
you need a valid license key for SICAM Device Manager to continue working.

 Installing License from USB Stick

In order to install a license key, you simply plug the USB stick into a USB port of
your computer. On the purchase of a full version (e.g.: V3.00) you also receive a
USB stick.
The USB stick is immediately recognized and displayed by the Automation
License Manager.
In the tree on the left, select the USB stick containing the licenses. The list of
available licenses will be displayed on the right side of the Automation License
Manager.

1. Select the appropriate license

2. Right-click to show the context menu. Select Transfer…
3. In the dialog shown, select any of your local hard drives
4. Click OK to transfer the license to your hard disk
5. Close the Automation License Manager and return to the SICAM Device
Manager window

Note: Installing license keys is also possible using Drag-and-Drop and Copy-and-
Paste operations, refer to almreadme.rtf

5 Removing Products
Both ALM and SICAM Device Manager have to be removed separately. The
following sequence is recommended:

5.1 Removing SICAM Device Manager

Note
It is recommended to create a backup before removing SICAM Device
Manager.
All SICAM Device Manager data will be removed and cannot be
recovered.

• In the Control panel -> Programs and Features, select Siemens SICAM
Device Manager
• In the context menu, select Uninstall / Change
• Click Next
• In the Repair or Remove Installation dialog, check the radio button Remove
• Click Next

5.2 Removing ALM
Hint
It is recommended to save all licenses on USB-stick before removing
ALM.

• In the Control Panel -> Programs and Features, select

Siemens Automation License Manager.
• In the context menu, select Uninstall
• Follow the instructions on the screen in order to remove ALM.

After removing ALM a reboot is necessary.
