essay #1 2012 AND THE ET's: The Age of Aquarius is Near by Robert Berringer 7/10/06 The Mayans predict that the Fifth Age of man will end on December 2012 with earthshaking destruction. Many New Age thinkers believe that the New Age of Aquarius will bring peace on earth. Some UFO abductees report that the ETs show pictures of an immanent mass destruction with the earth splitting in two. Is it time to prepare for the long predicted end of the current age of man? Like Enki, Zoroaster, Plato, Sitchin and many others, I believe in periodic divine intervention on earth. Gods who used to walk the face of the earth have not been seen in a long time, but our UFO visitors are surely agents of more powerful extraterrestrials historically called gods. Contacts between humans and extraterrestrial beings are increasing as we approach 2012, but the gods will surely arrive with much more presence and power. We now know that the evolution of life on earth has been driven by many periodic mass destructions, all of which have helped create most of the new species of life. Almost all the current species of mammals evolved after the mass extinction of the dinosaurs that was caused by an extraterrestrial meteor. Some scientists believe that the mass extinctions experienced by life on earth are due to extraterrestrial objects. Could these ET objects be guided by an intelligent force? A growing number of us are joining the Sumerians, Egyptians, Hindus, Olmecs, Mayans, Aztecs, and Toltecs in believing that the gods will soon return to earth. The Sumerians and the Egyptians both recorded in the world's oldest scripts that gods from the stars helped civilize man. This occurred about 3114 BC, the start of the Mayan Fifth Age of Man, long before the Mayans could have had any objective knowledge of the Sumerians or the Egyptians. Sumer was a very erudite and enigmatic culture with the first bronze, the first wheel, learned astronomers and mathematicians. They recorded that gods from an alien planetoid called Nibiru visited earth every 3600 years. Now since 3600 is a very round number in their mathematical system based on 60, with 60x60=3600 seconds in an hour, 3600 years is close to the Mayan calculation of 4000 years for the Fourth Age of Man. Based on extensive research, I am now convinced that the ET gods who helped human civilization around 3100 BC will return in 2012. It should be noted that most ancient civilizations believed in many ages of man, like the Golden Age. They also believed in periodical mass destructions like The Flood. Some Hindu

scholars think the Kali Age will also end on 2012. For reasons known only to the gods, humans have evolved more brain capacity than they use. Most of us have a dominant left hemisphere and an underutilized right brain. Some of us think that the New Age may utilize all of our brains in a new cosmic Noosphere of peace and harmony. Julian Jaynes and many other psychologists believed that humans were predominantly right brain dominant until the alphabet was invented about 3000 years ago. The Sumerians, Egyptians, and Mayans were probably mostly right brain dominant. Alcohol and drugs enhance visions and other right brain activity, and both the Sumerians and the Egyptians wrote that beer and wine were elixirs of the gods. Mayans, Toltecs and other Native Americans used hallucinogenic mushrooms and other natural drugs to improve communications with the gods. The enigmatic domestication of wheat and barley are also signs of ET activity, for they are not natural food for primates. There is no reason in the world why primitive hunter gatherers who were close to starving would harvest, plant and sow wild grains of indigestible wheat which were 1/1000 the size of modern wheat grains. Only powerful gods or their kings could save seeds from year to year for many generations during many starving winters of the difficult Third and Fourth Mayan Ages. Both the Sumerians and the Egyptians attributed the domestication of plants and animals to their benevolent gods. Thank you ET gods for your greatest gift to civilization! Left hemisphere brains, the alphabet and science are keys to western civilization. When Cortez landed in Mexico, he found a large and advanced civilization that did not have an alphabet, guns, horses, bronze, or steel but they had kings and priests loyal to olden gods. They had accurate calendars that they received from the Toltecs, Mayans and Olmecs. They all believed in benevolent gods like Quetzalcoatl who brought them plants like corn, and would return again on 2012 AD. Like the Hindus, they also believed in gods who destroy. They must have learned about calendars and ages directly from the gods by right brain communications. Many modern Americans are returning to Yoga, meditation and drugs to better communicate with the gods. Many see catastrophes and others see peace on earth. I see the mass destruction of most Homo sapiens followed by a new species of Homo aquarius with peace on Earth. Civilization started in Egypt on 3114 BC when Menes united Upper and Lower Egypt into one divine kingdom under gods from the stars. It is no coincidence that this agrees with the Mayan date for the start of the Fifth Age of Man, and it also agrees with the start of the Bronze Age in Mesopotamia. The First Mayan Age of Man is dated to 20,238 BC when Cro-Magnon Man painted cave walls in Europe after the stronger and bigger brained Neanderthal Man suddenly disappeared. The Second Age of Man started on15,212 BC on the Fertile Crescent with the domestication of dogs and sheep. The Third Age of Man started on 11,131 BC, the peak of the mysterious destruction of large mammals in North America. Around 11,000 BC most of the mammals larger than humans in America and Europe suddenly disappeared. By about 10,000 BC, the mammoths, mastodons, large bears, giant sloth, dire wolves, scinter-tooth tigers and saber-toothed tigers were all extinct. As today, large mammals remained in Africa. Scientists disagree on the cause of this mass extinction, but all agree that it helped farmers and hurt hunters. He who has ears to hear, let him hear. A "ley line" is a straight line on earth that goes thru three or more sacred sites. The most important ley line on earth is a great circle that goes thru more than a dozen important ancient sites. Jim Alison and others have called this the "Old Equator" because it was probably the earth's equator about 100,000 BC, when Homo sapiens first left Africa. The popular New Age author Graham Hancock inspired many of us with "Fingerprints of the gods" which described in detail many ancient fingerprints that the gods left behind near the Old Equator. Zecharia Sitchin also described

many fingerprints of ET gods, especially in Egypt and Peru. Neither appears to recognize the significance of the Old Equator, although Sitchin realized that many of the most enigmatic signs were really made by extraterrestrials. Sitchin's many books describe how the Annunaki, sons of the Sumerian high god Anu were benevolent civilizers in the Fertile Crescent, Egypt, the Indus River Valley, New Guinea and Peru. Many engineers have studied the Great Pyramid and the Machu Pichu ruins and are convinced that Stone Age man did not build them. If you don't believe in ET's, like Hancock and others, you have a dilemma, for believing that Atlanteans did this brings you back to a pre-historic ET god called Poseidon. Enki is much more historic than Poseidon! My studies have convinced me that many of these mysterious artifacts are foundations for machines that are long gone. The Great Pyramid reminds me of the guns of Navarone after 5000 years. All the metal, wood, plastic and rubber are long gone. I think the Great Pyramid was a precisely aligned fulcrum for pushing the earth on the Old Equator. Note the very impressive foundation and shaft, both laboriously dug into solid bedrock. It was not a tomb for a Stone Age pharaoh! It was the world's biggest machine, built by the ET gods long ago. Starting at the Great Pyramid, the Old Equator goes thru Petra in Jordan , Sumer, Persepolis in Persia, Mohenjo Daro in the Indus River Valley, the mouth of the Ganges River, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, the New Guinea highlands, Easter Island, Nazca Peru, Machu Pichu in the Andes, the mouth of the Amazon River, and Timbuktu and Siwa in Africa. Draw this great circle on your globe! The three oldest writing scripts and oldest city states were located at Egypt, Sumer and Mohenjo Daro near the beginning of the Mayan Fifth Age of Man. Note that all three civilizations were very different except for the intensive irrigation of wheat and barley. Both the Sumerians and the Egyptians wrote that beer was the elixir of the gods. The first domestication of plants occurred between Sumer and Petra in the Fertile Crescent. Rice was first domesticated near Mohenjo Daro. Taro, yams, sugar cane and bananas were first domesticated in the very remote highlands of New Guinea, where ancient canals are signs of intensive irrigation. Corn, sweet potatoes and the potato were first domesticated in the Peruvian Alto Plano south of Machu Pichu. Thus, most of the food plants for humans and other animals used today were domesticated near the Old Equator before 3000 BC. On a mountaintop at Machu Pichu there is a very ancient and very sacred "hitching post of the sun". Often called a marker or obelisk, it was carved out of solid granite by removing the mountain rock from around the obelisk! This mountaintop was leveled except for the obelisk. The following picture shows a foundation of the very ancient hitching post.

Without inscriptions, it appears functional, not ceremonial. Stone Age humans did not build this marker of the Old Equator. There are two similar obelisks carved out of a mountaintop above Petra. Don't be surprised if one of these obelisks aligns precisely with the apex of the Great Pyramid and the Machu Pichu obelisk. Other than UFO's and abductee reports, most of the very significant signs of extraterrestrial activity are more than 4500 years old and occur along the Old Equator. Are we bold enough now to combine these signs with the Mayan Ages of Man? By the start of the First Age, all non-modern humans north of the Old Equator were mysteriously eliminated, including the robust Neanderthal Man and the widespread Homo erectus. Note that Homo flores were later found south of the Old Equator. At the start of the Mayan Third Age of man, we find the mass destruction of most large mammals north of the Old Equator, thus hurting hunters and helping farmers. We also note much presence of the ET gods in Egypt, Sumer, Mohenjo Daro, New Guinea and Peru by the start of the Fifth Age. Today, we find indications from ET abductees that the ETs are breeding hundreds of thousands of hybrids for repopulation along the Old Equator following a coming mass destruction. Abductees are shown visualizations of earthquakes, nuclear destruction and an earth split in two. My theory is that dark ET gods will first destroy Homo sapiens north of the Old Equator. Then, Quetzalcoatl, Enki, Yahweh, Thoth and other benevolent gods will establish a new race of Homo aquarians and the Age of Aquarius along the Old Equator. Righteous remnants of believers may help the ancient gods. The New Age of peace will slowly grow and thrive north of the Old Equator. After many years, they will arrive in far away North America and be surprised to find vast networks of ancient highways, just like the Incas found in Peru. Many Homo sapiens will live in peace south of the Old Equator. Europe, Asia, Central America and North America will be huge idyllic Gardens of Eden with very few competing mammals and huge herds of cattle, horses, deer, buffalo, elk, moose, etc. Hunters and fishermen will be in heaven. The meek shall inherit the Earth. essay #2 THE MAYAN AND AZTEC LONG COUNT by Robert Berringer Thirty years ago I had the revelation that the gods intervened in human evolution periodically, perhaps every 500 years in recent millennia. Accordingly, I was not surprised to learn that the Mayans and Aztecs had a well developed cosmology called the Long Count Calendar based on the baktun, a 394 year cycle ruled by one of their major gods. The fifth age of man, or fifth sun started

in 3114 BC and will end on the winter solstice of 2012AD. Scholars have slightly different dates and I will use John Major Jenkin's dates for this essay. The Mayans agreed with our calculations that there are thirteen baktuns in our current age. The Mayans thought Cortez was their god Quetzalcoatl, a wise bearded white man from the east, and presented him with their most sacred symbol, a large solid gold calendar based on the Mayan Long Count. The Aztec gods must be very forgiving, since they did not strike dead Cortez and the conquistadors when they melted down the most sacred and most priceless object ever made in America. Fortunately for all of us, a large solid stone calendar survived in Mexico. Each bactun is ruled by a new god. We don't know all the names of the Mayan gods, so I will use the Aztec names. The fifth age of man comprises 13 bactuns (0 thru 12) and ends in 2012 AD. Many Americans for over 1500 years have believed that there are only five ages of man. My extrapolation to a fourteenth bactun above is optimistic, for I know from my studies of evolution that the gods have been creating man for hundreds of bactuns. That is the truth. Note that many gods were very active around 3114 BC, especially in Sumer and Egypt, so it is reasonable to expect that many gods will be active by the end of 2012 AD. I predict that Quetzalcoatl and other gods will return in bactun 13. Zacheria Sitchin is a bold student of ancient religions and an astute reader of the many ancient signs of the heaven and earth gods. He thinks that Quetzalcoatl is the same god as Ningishzidda from Sumer, Thoth/Djehuti from Egypt, Hermes from Greece, and Mercury from Rome. Yahweh created confusion when he scrambled all of the earth's languages. I would like to remind the reader that the Mayan culture survived for over 1500 years going back to the time of the Greek's and Roman's and had a mathematical system and calendar much superior to that of the Egyptians, Greek's or Roman's, but most of their history has been systematically destroyed by the more powerful conquistadors and their preists. The Mayans believed that the gods of the day baktuns were much more benevolent than the gods of the night bactuns. I am not a Mayan scholar, but it was easy to find two scholars who have empirically verified that the thirteen bactuns correlate with human civilization. Note in the above table that alternate baktuns were ruled by benevolent day gods then malevolent night gods. They were not all good or evil, and the commonly used Mayan terms of dark and light are more meaningful to me. They were neither omnipotent nor omnipresent, and sacrifices of the king's blood may have evolved to mass human sacrifices under a dark god. Jose Arguelles and Carl Calleman both agreed that human civilization follows light and dark baktun cycles. They found that the discrimination between light and dark cycles was clearer in areas like religion, language, writing, calendars, and communication. My book, "Ancient Gods and Their Mysteries, Will They Return In 2012" looked for signs of the gods, and the following paragraphs summarize my review. I note that the 13 cycle fiifth sun starts and ends with a light cycle. Extrapolating backwards, we can predict that the previous 394 years before 3114 BC were benevolent. Archaeological data confirm that civilization was growing rapidly in the fertile crescent. Gods were benevolent, especially the mother goddess. Women took care of the house, children and gardens, all of which were increasing in size. The domestication of plants and animals was spreading from the mountains to the fertile river valleys, and hunter-gatheres were evolving into farmers. Before 3114 BC, there is much evidence of pottery, plows and farming but little evidence of warfare. The first writing script dates to this period. Civilization in Sumer and Egypt grew so fast around 3114 BC that scholars disagree with exact dates for the first metal plow, the first pottery wheel, the first brick

kiln and the first bronze, but many signs point to about 3114 BC.. With Sitchin, I believe that the gods were active in Sumer, Egypt, Bolivia, Peru and England around 3114 BC. In Sumer we find the first cuneiform writing, the first hieroglyphic writing, the first city states, the first kings, the first priests, the first scribes, the first craftsman, the first temples, the first pyramids, the first extensive usage of irrigation, and the first wheeled carts. I have a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, and I think the Sumerian invention of bronze is a clear sign of the gods. Bronze is a high temperature alloy of copper and tin or arsenic, and it would take me the rest of my life to find the ores, refine the ores, design and build a kiln and make a bronze plow. The Sumerians needed help. Note that native Americans didn't learn how to make bronze until after 1500 AD. The Americans had vast amounts of tin ore and copper ore, but there was none in Sumer. Sumer had lots of oil, but how did they develop a sophisticated plan to become the first city state in history to pioneer smelting in a fertile river valley now called Iraq? Many archaeologists wonder about the mysterious new civilizations that appeared fully grown about this time in Sumer and in Egypt, The Sumeians and Egyptians left us more than a clue, they both said that the gods brought them civilization, writing and kingship. Pre-Columbian bronze clamps have been found in the Andes, in cyclopean stone work. My book describes with photos these mysterious bronze clamps which have only appeared at sacred sites. Sitchin thinks that the gods made these clamps, and helped supply tin to the Sumerians. The Aztecs, Incas, Mayas, Olmecs, etc. did not have iron or bronze, only copper. The Aztecs called the lord of bactun 0 the god of fire and time, and they had little written knowledge of prehistoric history in America.. They had no knowledge of history in Egypt and Sumer. Even Sumer and Egypt were very separate cultures before bactun 1. How did the Maya know that the first Egyptian Pharoah Menes united upper and lower Egypt on 3114 BC, thus starting the Egyptian calendar and the Fifth Sun? How did they know that it would be a key baktun of light, using oil to fire the first kilns and the exact start of the bronze age? The gods only know. In general, baktuns 1 thru 4 follow the Mayan light and dark cycles, especially in Egypt and Sumer, By 2325 BC, the end of dark baktun 1, most major civilizations mysteriously collapsed. At some time around 2300 BC, give or take a century or two, a large number of the major civilizations of the world collapsed, simultaneously it seems. The Akkadian Empire in Mesopotamia, the Old Kingdom in Egypt, the Early Bronze Age civilization in Israel, Anatolia and Greece, as well as the Induss Valley civilization in India, the Hilmand Civilization in Afghanistan and the Hongshan Culture in China-the first urban civilizations in the world-all fell into ruin at more of less the same time. Why? Benny Peiser, archaeologist BRITISH ARCHAEOLOGY, December 1997 Peiser and others are looking for extraterrestrial influences, like asteroids. Few scientists blame Tlaltecuhtli, the Aztec god of earth. Earthquakes and volcanoes may indeed be a contributing factor. In baktun 4, around 1500 BC, Troy and the Hittite civilization were thriving in Anatolia/Turkey with the invention of iron. The Mycaenian civilization in Greece and the New Kingdom in Egypt were growing. Both the Phoenicians and the Semites were spreading around the eastern Mediterranean and here we find the first alphabet. Starting in 1140 BC, baktun 5 under the Aztec god of death was dark indeed. The major Olmec city at San Lorenzo was deserted at this time, followed by a rebirth at LaVenta. The Phoenicians and other sea people weakened many civilizations around the Meditteranean, including the formerly powerful Mycenaean and Hittite civilizations, but they were not likely to destroy civilizations. Almost all the coastal cities for miles inland were destroyed. Cities were mysteriously burned with enough heat to melt city walls. Humans cannot melt stones and brick with normal open fires? Also, precious metals were left behind, a strange behavior of looting pirates.. Around 1200 BC, many of the civilizations of the same regions (as in 2300 BC) again collapsed at

about the same time. This time, disaster overtook the Myceneans of Greece, the Hittites of Anatolia, The Egyptian New Kingdom, Late Brronze Age Israel, and the Shang Dynasty of China. Ibid. Why do I think that Mayan seers knew more about the demise of civilization around 1000 BC than western historians? Unknown sea peoples from unknown places did not demolish major civilizations in bactun 5 without the help of a dark god. Bactun 6 under Cinteotl, the Aztec god of maize and sustenance started about 748 BC, the time when the Roman god Romulus founded Rome. This is the time of Hesiod, Homer and the Greek gods. It was also the age of Plato, Aristotle, Buddha, Confucius and the Hebrew prophets. God centered cultures were thriving in America, including the Chavin, Olmec, Zapotec and Mayan civilizations. Bactun 8 under Quetzalcoatl, the Aztec god of light, started about 41 AD. Quetalcoatl is also known as Kukulcan or the Feathered Serpent. The most popular of all the many native American gods, he brought writing, calendars and civilization to America. Sitchin thinks he is the same god as Thoth, who brought writing and the calendar to the Egyptians. It was Thoth/Hermes who taught "as above, so below" and Quetzalcoatl who taught the Zapotecs and Maya writing and the "long count calendar". Civilization in America was thriving, especially in Central America with the very impressive city of Teotihuacan. Roman peace endured during bactun 6, during which Greek, Roman and Egyptian wisdom thrived, especially in Alexandria. Jesus appeared as a god to Saint Paul and the Christian Church was born and the New Testament written. The Talmud and Kama-Sutra were also written during bactun 8, a bactun of sustenance. Bacun 9 from 435 to 830 AD was a dark age indeed, with prophets like Genghis Khan and Mohammed. The Roman Empire came to an end at the hands of barbarians from the north and the Muslim Empire grew at the expense of the Christian Empire. In the New World, the classic Mayan Age came to as abrupt end with the desertion of Copan and Palenque. Teotihacan also collapsed. Baktun 10 under the Aztec goddess of birth, Yohudlicitl, who guided the Mayans to Chichen Itza after 830 AD. There they built the soon to become famous Kukulcan Pyramid Temple. Here at both the spring and autumn equinox, the Feathered Serpent's shadow climbs step by step to the top of the pyramid. The Aztec and Toltec numbers grew in Mexico as the Mayans moved northward. The Khmer culture in Cambodia thrived with both Hindu and Buddhist pyramid temples. We note that the very popular Hindu god, Siva had both creative and destructive sides, and many impressive Siva statues and temples were built in Southeast Asia during baktun 10. Bactun 11 under the Aztec god before dawn started about 1224 AD, another dark age. Here we find the Black Death in Europe, the inquisitions, and the demise of most natives on the Pacific Islands and America. This time period is known as the Dark Ages in Europe and it was no better in Asia with debilitating floods and wars. Bactun 12 starting in 1618 AD under the Aztec god Ometeotl, the dual creator god, is our own creative age. This is the age of science and technology and the age of exploration and transportation. It includes Sir Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, automobiles, airplanes, computers and cell phones. Mayan scholar Carl Calleman sees the exponential increase in communication in our age as a positive sign. We are almost capable of reading the many signs left by the gods, even if we have trouble with their names. Remember, it was the gods who confused our languages long ago. Some like SETI look to the stars for messages from the gods. I think the gods have left many signs for us to read. The Mayan Long Count is one of those signs. Quetzalcoatl climbing the Kukulcan Pyramid is another sign. My book discusses many other signs, including the Great Pyramid, the Sphinx and mysterious megaliths and obelisks around the world. Catastrophic end of the bronze age by 1100 4. Birth of the alphabet and consciousness Civilization began in Sumer and Egypt. Prophetically, with no historical data, the Mayans dated the start of the fifth age of man as 3114 BC! Around 3000 BC, archaeologists now date the first writing, the first numerical systems, the wheel, bronze, and the first city-states with kings and pharaohs. We have a hard time grasping these profound changes in city life, but Sumerians, Egyptians, Babylonians, Acadians etc. all said that the gods civilized man. The human race changed forever. The Egyptian civilization based on pharaohs, hieroglyphics and the gods, lasted for 2000 years, from 3100 BC to 1100 BC! As we learn more and more of this beautiful god oriented theocracy, it's mysteries continue to grow and inspire. The decline of the Egyptian Empire is also a mystery. Pharaohs were not obeying the gods. Hebrews were fleeing to the promised land and their god Yahweh killed first born males and drowned Egyptian soldiers. Unknown Sea Peoples were attacking their ships and killing many sailors. This is what history records, but by the time Alexander the Great invaded Egypt, it was not one of the world's powers. Ancient Egypt was history. Civilization was born c. 3100 BC in the Fertile Crescent. Wars, wheels, and bronze weapons influenced Asia Minor more than Egypt. Civilization grew east and north of Mesopotamia during the Bronze Age. Cities along the Mediterranean and Aegean coasts flourished with extensive trade. Then around 1200 BC, almost all of these cities were destroyed by fires hot enough to melt stones. The Princeton historian Drews authored "The End of the Bronze Age: Changes if Warfare and the Catastrophe C.A. 1200 BC". Including most of western civilization, he calls this catastrophe the worst disaster in ancient history. Intensive widespread destruction is often attributed to earthquakes and volcanoes, with little physical evidence. Most historical evidence was destroyed. Unknown Sea Peoples and Yahweh indeed! Is it not probable that the divine forces creating the Bronze Age also ended it? Historians trying to solve the mysterious collapse of ancient civilization around 1200 BC should study the Mayan Day and Night Gods. On 1140 BC the Mayan dark god of death started his 394 year rule. I have been reading "The Rise of Consciousness in the Bicameral Mind" by Julian Jaynes, 1976. His very profound and studious book shows how the ancient mind was controlled by the right hemisphere, especially before 1000 BC. He calls this the bicameral or split mind. Professor Jaynes compares this split mind to schizophrenia, with ancient prophets, kings and in fact all humans for ages hearing voices from authoritative sources usually interpreted as gods. He bases his theory on physiology, history and linguistics. Jaynes' book is a tour de force and was widely read by intellectuals and liberals, but usually criticized by fellow physiologists. The Egyptian civilization which lasted from 3100 to 1070 BC was surely bicameral, with gods and god-kings controlling society for over five bactuns. Jaynes analyzes writings of the Egyptians, Mesopotamians, Minoans, Hittites and Mycenaeans to show very few signs of consciousness. For example, the laws of these

ancient civilizations all sounded like "Thou shall not kill". Up through the time of the Hebrew prophets, this command was clearly heard in their minds, with no rationalization or questioning. Between Moses and Plato, there was surely a drastic increase in the consciousness of humans and a decrease in the intensity of voices in the right hemisphere. The Bible shows more consciousness than older documents, with both David and Jesus saying "My God, MY God, why have you deserted me?" Leonard Shllain, a more recent scholar, wrote "The Alphabet Versus the Goddess", 1998. Shlain documents how the alphabet and alphabetic writing caused the demise of nature oriented goddesses and the rise of the more abstract monotheistic male god. The oldest alphabet was found in the Sinai Peninsula and dates to before the time of Moses. The Phoenicians spread the later Hebrew based Canaanite alphabet thru the Mediterranean. Schlain also stresses right versus left hemisphere proclivities. Alphabetic writing is clearly an abstract linear left brain activity, as is science. Again we find the Hebrews and the Greeks at the crossroads of western civilization. Shlain claims the Old Testament is the oldest alphabetic literature, written by followers of Moses, the inventor of radical monotheism. The Phoenician gods like Baal had female goddesses like Astarte and they tolerated other gods. The male Hebrew god Yahweh tolerated no other gods or goddesses, and ordered the killing of followers of Baal and Astarte. The time for the birth of the alphabet and monotheism is about 1200 BC. By the time of King David and the Hebrew Prophets, the Hebrews were widely literate, with extensive alphabetic writing. Homer and the Greek Poets used oral traditions, but the Greek alphabet, philosophy, mathematics and writing were to surpass the Bible as foundation stones of western civilization.. Shlain quotes many others who agree that western civilization is rooted in Hebrew religion , Greek philosophy and science, and the alphabet. The main logical alternative is that Atlanteans brought civilization to Egypt and Sumer, but where did Atlantis get civilization. The Greeks and the Romans say they got it from the gods, especially Poseidon. Also, why would human survivors from Atlantis give different languages, scripts, and number systems to Sumer and Egypt at the same time? Genetics supports archaeological evidence than all native Americans came from Asia. Zacharia Sitchin has learned to read the ancient languages and signs and has remythologized the oldest religious writings and written many books. The Sumerians believed that the high god Anu lived on the planet Nibiru which orbits the earth every 3600 years. Sitchin's translations make more sense to me than those of most historians, especially modern Egyptologists. All right hemisphere civilizations before Moses believed in polytheism, more than one god. did not live on earth, so that makes them extra-terrestrial. They disappeared for long periods of time. Even Yahweh was absent for centuries, such as between the time of Jacob and Joseph and Moses. I don't know how the gods civilized man, but one good theory is that they used some form of mind control. The gods spoke thru man's right hemisphere. Do not tell your psychiatrist that God is speaking to you, or even that you hear authoritative voices in your head, for they think it is a major sign of insanity. Sitchin says that the Ark of the Covenant contained a "dvir" or "speaker". Yes, Sitchin can read ancient Hebrew too. The Egyptian drawings show high voltage electrical devices which were regarded as dangerous, just like the Ark! The gods were usually pictured with helmets, horns or animal masks. Jaynes reminded me that bicameral men has a lot of energy and can do the work of two or more modern men. They are obedient and obsessed, and do not waste left brain mental energy. The gods used Egyptians to build superhuman structures like the Osireon and the Great Pyramid. Then again, the gods might have used robotic machines. Speaking of pyramids, two ancient pyramids in Central America have layers of mica, an electrical insulating material and a very unlikely building material. Sitchin and I think that the mica is a clear sign of the gods.. Modern technology would be hard pressed to duplicate these mica layers, large sheets from distant sources. The extensive destruction of almost all cities near the Eastern Mediterranean and the demise of Eurasia's four major civilizations around 1140 BC is a mystery to historians and scientists. Yet the right hemisphere Aztecs with no knowledge of these ancient civilizations, intuitively knew that this was the year that their god of death started his rule of the world, the start of the Aztec bactun 5.0.0.0.0. The rise of consciousness in Israel and Greece is another mystery, and it occurred around 748 BC, the start off the next bactun under a more benevolent god. To me, it is an important sign of very real gods acting in history. For 200,000 years humans have lived as hunter-gatherers using stone tools. About 10,000 years ago the sudden emergence of the domestication of plants and animals are surely signs of the gods. The domestication of plants and animals is difficult today, and nigh impossible for a hunter-gatherer who periodically lives close to starving. Most of the plants and animals domesticated today can be traced to the Zagros Mountains before 4000 B.C. Corn, rice and the potato were also domesticated by Stone Age hunter-gatherers. Ancient irrigation systems have been found at ancient plant domestication sites, including New Guinea, Peru and Brazil. Small primitive groups domesticated most plants and animals, and not modern farmers and geneticists. Sitchin thinks they had help from the gods, and I have found no better explanation. Modern attempts to domesticate the wolf have been unsuccessful (See Article #2). Note that these very strong ancient traditions do not portray gods as ghosts or hallucinations, but as powerful physical entities similar to humans. We are talking about building huge pyramids, building very extensive irrigation systems, and domesticating plants and animals. We are talking about superhuman feats in the Stone Age at such diverse locations as Sumer, Egypt, India, China, New Guinea, Guatemala and Peru. We are talking about signs of extra-terrestrial gods. I have been studying signs of ancient gods in America. Why are there high tech stone formations with brass clamps in Stone Age Peru before 1492 A.D.? Why did pre-Incan natives build extensive irrigation systems and domesticate plants and animals. As the facts accumulate and New Age openness grows, more and more people will be able to read the many signs. It is no coincidence that after 200,000 years, small groups of hunter-gatherers decided to domesticate plants and animals all over the globe. The oldest Mayan mural is a vivid testimony that kingship and maize (corn) were important gifts of the gods before 100 B.C. The Mayans were far removed from the Sumerians in time and space, noting the absence of corn in Asia and the absence of wheat in America around 100 B.C. Yet both had kings, anointed by the gods. Tradition has Sumerian, Egyptian and Peruvian gods civilizing man and bringing kingship to Earth. All three traditions tell of gods coming to help humans, and then leaving with a promise to return. The Sumerians were best at metalworking, but the Olmecs and Mayans were better at astronomy and calendars. They record that the Fifth Age of man will end on 2012 A.D. with the return of the gods and many earthquakes! The divine right of kings is a gift of the gods. Beware of gods who do not bear gifts!
