Fittings Introduction
Pegler Yorkshire has upgraded the Kuterlite K900 range to Kuterlite K900-PRO
As part of our continuous improvement and development programme we have studied the performance of compression fittings in the market and found certain applications where changes could further improve performance.
With the intention of providing premium performance, Pegler Yorkshire has substantially increased the engineering safety factors in the Kuterlite K900-PRO product, principally the critical design characteristics of the compression nut. Kuterlite K900-PRO fittings are compatible with the following types of tube and pipe. n Copper tube to BS EN 1057 n Tectite PEX or other PEX pipe to BS 7291 part 3 n PB pipe to BS 7291 Part 2 n XPress Carbon steel system tube or other carbon steel tube to EN 10305-2 sizes up to 28mm n Tectite 316 system tube or other stainless steel tubes to EN 10312 sizes up to 28mm Kuterlite K900-PRO fittings are manufactured to exceed the requirements of BS EN 1254-2. n Kuterlite K900-PRO is recommended for all applications where K900 was previously recommended including specialist areas such as chilled water

Professional installation tips

To ensure that these fittings enjoy a long serviceable life, they must be correctly installed.
Do not over-tighten nuts
A matrix is provided at our website: www.pegleryorkshire.co.uk to help the installer apply the correct amount of torque. This is expressed as partial or whole turns of the nut, and varies depending upon the type of pipe being used.

Do not contaminate
Take care not to contaminate the threads or nuts with jointing compounds.

Use parallel threaded adaptors

This will help to avoid stressing the female threaded ends.

Use the correct size spanner

K900-PRO nuts are designed to fit the most common metric spanner sizes. An accurately set adjustable spanner can also be used. Compressive gripping devices with serrated jaws (e.g. Stilsons) must never be used to install a Kuterlite fitting.

Use best practice

Avoid contact with chemicals and chemical compounds that could cause stress corrosion cracking. Installers should either satisfy themselves that such chemicals are not present in the environment around the nut, or take care to isolate the plumbing pipe, valves and fittings from such substances, for instance by wrapping in a vapour barrier or applying impermeable paints.

Apply some light oil

For fittings over 35mm apply a few drops of light oil on the threads of the fitting.

Kuterlite Pro packaging
Kuterlire Pro fittings will be packed into standard Kuterlite bags, with installation instructions printed on the back and then packed into our standard corporate outer carton. For an introductory period we will use a sticker on the bags and outer boxes to highlight the fact that these products are the new Kuterlite K900-PRO fittings. This will continue until the transition to the new design is completed and then phased out.
