Reader #1: He loved enough to suffer. Not an inch of His body was free from pain Reader #2: as the thorns dug into His brow. Reader #1: Tears rolled down the face of Christ. Still they laughed and mocked. He loved the whole world with the greatest of loves, but still their hearts were locked. Reader #3: Even His followers deserted Him . . . in fear they ran away. Running from an army to save their own lives without a word to say. Reader #2: Pilate refused to try the case. Reader #4: Where is the crime? Reader #3: he said. Reader #1: But Gods stubborn, religious people cried, Readers 2,3,&4: We want this impostor dead! Reader #1: The people who worshiped Him a week ago were screaming, Reader #2: Kill the fool! He says He wants to be our king, but well not let Him rule. Reader #3: The soldiers tortured this perfect Man who suffered both sorrow and pain. Reader #4: They took Him to a mound of skulls as thunder gave birth to rain. It seemed as if the drops of rain that fell down from the sky Reader #2: were drops of tears from far away as God the Father began to cry. Reader #1: Down came the hammer onto the nail, down through His wrists that bled, Reader #3: with a purple robe that mocked Him as king, and a crown of thorns on His Head. Reader #4: The old splintered beam where Jesus was nailed was lifted high in the air, then dropped in the ground with a loud painful sound, in view of the crowds silent stare.
