Undergraduate Degree
Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering Overall Percentage: 79% Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India . Aug 2001 May 2006

SELECTED ENGINEERING COURSE WORK & PROJECTS Graduate Degree Level

Advanced Fluid Mechanics, Ideal Fluid Flow, Design and Rating of Heat Exchangers, Solar Energy Utilization, Convective heat transfer, Thermal Design of Heat Exchangers, Numerical Methods for Mechanical Engineers, Applied Regression and Experimental Design.

Undergraduate Degree Level

Machine Design, Engineering Mechanics, Design of Machine Elements, Kinematics and Dynamics of Machinery, Material Science, Thermal Engineering, Power Plant Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Production Planning and Control, Refrigeration and Air conditioning, Robotics, Strength of Materials, Heat Transfer. Masters Research The research was concerned with a detailed study of the Central Air Conditioning System for one of the Academic buildings at the KFUPM campus with a primary focus on the pumping scheme. Alternate pumping schemes in order to improve the performance of the entire system were investigated. Furthermore the effect of incorporation of an ejector cooling system with the existing central air conditioning system was explored. Lastly, the phenomenon of water extraction from the cooling coils of the air handler and its subsequent utilization was examined. Undergraduate Project: Cooling load estimation and design of air-conditioning system for a multistory hospital. The project dealt with studying the location, orientation of the building, its components in terms of appliances, machines and human presence. With the acquired knowledge, the cooling load for the building was estimated. Design of the air-conditioning system was the next step which comprised the selection of the type of chiller, air flow arrangements etc in order to achieve human comfort conditions in all the locations of the hospital building.
