Novice Crossover Fees: $5 per class per judge to cross over into same class in Youth or Amateur Division Green Crossover Fees: $5 per class per judge to cross over into respective Junior or Senior class if entered into any of the Green Classes (ie: entered Green Trail & Junior Trail..$16.50 per judge for Junior Trail.$5 per judge for Green Trail. All accounts must be cleared prior to leaving the show grounds. Blank cheques or credit cards are to be left with the show secretary as deposit for your account. Accounts can be paid with cash/cheque/visa/mastercard or debit. Any accounts that are not CLOSED at the show (credit cards require signatures) are subject to a $20 processing fee. Please double check at the show office before departure.

Westerner Campground has full service campsites available. Please call 403-352-8801 for reservations. QHAA does not administer the plug ins for power at the barns/tents. All arrangements for this service are done thru the Westerner Park Campground. The show office does not accept payment for plug ins or camping on Westerner Parks behalf. STABLING:

All stabling is subject to a $50/stall surcharge if not booked and paid for by August 16th, 2011. All stabling fees are plus 5% GST.
Premium stalls are extremely limited. In the event of overcapacity, sponsorship levels will determine availability/priority of stall assignments. All stalls will be pre-assigned with reserve names. Please check stabling charts that will be posted at the show office in the AgriCenter East and in each of the stabling areas. No one is to make changes to the assigned stalls without permission of the Show Management. Exhibitors who wish to be stabled together must reserve their stalls under the same name on the stabling form provided. If the name under which the stalls are to be reserved is not the same, the stalls, may not be listed together. Show management reserves the right to allocate stalls as required, and does not guarantee stall placement. No verbal reservations accepted, nor telephone reservations, open cheques are not considered as payment for stabling. The Show Management Committee requests that end stalls be attractively decorated. End stalls may be reserved for decoration as a hospitality area provided that the area is paid as a tack stall fee and that decorations do not extend into the alley. Buckle sponsors will receive preferential treatment for the Premium barn area as well as end stalls. NO Hay will be available from the show office. Stalls that are prepaid are at regular price. Stall prices will increase by $50 per stall after August 16th, 2011. All Stalls must be pre-paid by separate cheque or by Visa or Mastercard. If paying by credit card email to: qhaastabling@shaw.ca Although attempts are made to accompany every request, there are a limited number of end stalls, preferred stalls, and locations with specific trainers/ individuals, please send your stall information in as soon as possible. All Stabling will be treated on a first come / first served basis. Requests for stabling by other people must be made upon reservation, and will be accommodated to the best of the show committees ability. Exhibitors who wish to be stabled together must reserve their stalls under the same name on the entry form provided. If the name under which the stalls are to be reserved is not the same, the stalls may not be listed together. There will be no guaranteed stalls or barns. Sponsor priority will occur with respect to placement Management decision is final. No guarantees are expressed or implied with respect to position. All cheques/credit cards will be processed upon receipt. Post dated cheques are not considered payment until the date of the cheque. Show management reserves the right to allocate stalls as required, and does not guarantee stall placement. Stabling Fees are non-refundable. Special circumstances may be considered by Show Management with proof of vet certificate. US Residents: Please pay stabling only in Canadian funds via money order, bank draft, or credit card; Please do not write Canadian Funds on the cheque Stalling requests that are received prior to August 16th will be at the regular price. Stall prices will increase by $50 per stall after August 16th.

Nervous Novice Hunter Under Saddle & Western Pleasure classes (Non-AQHA) - open as a Walk/Trot class to anyone who has not shown in an AQHA class (with the exception of Halter classes). Basic safety equipment is required, appropriate attire for each class is encouraged but not necessary. This class is open to All Breeds and is considered a fun class for anyone (must be eligible) over the age of 12.

GENERAL RULES 1. The Canadian National Quarter Horse Show, The National, will be run under the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Rules and Regulations and National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA) unless otherwise noted. Indemnity and Responsibility: All entries are accepted with the understanding that neither QHAA, Westerner Park, nor any show official will be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury to any horse exhibited, show or displayed, or any article of any kind. All horses shall be under the control and direction of the show officials, but solely at the risk of the exhibitor who will be responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to any person, animal, or property associated with him, and the exhibitor shall indemnify the above mentioned parties against any and all loss, damages and liability thus occasioned, including, but not limited to, any and all legal costs, including attorney fees, which may be incurred as a result thereof. The submitting of any entry form to the show shall constitute acceptance by each persona signing the same of the provisions here-in set forth. 2. Photographic images of any exhibitor/spectators deemed to be acknowledged and permission granted to use in advertising and/or use of media to acknowledge the show, results or any such promotion. This includes media contact and interview requests. 3. You are responsible to clear your tab at the show. Statements provided after the show are an additional $25 dollars 4. Departing Grounds: All livestock are require to obtain a release form from the show office or before departing the Westerner grounds. Must have drivers license #, vehicle license #, what state/province, colour of vehicle and make. This is subject to inspection upon departure by Show Management. 5. Vendors: Anyone wishing to sell products, tack, jewelry, etc are required to pay a vendor fee to QHAA. You may not sell anything out of your stall area without approval from show management. Trade Show Exhibitors must sign a tradeshow agreement with QHAA no exceptions and all rules and regulations pertaining to general exhibitors apply to trade show exhibitors. 6. Management reserves the right to change schedules, arenas or times at their discretion. 7. The Quarter Horse Association of Alberta (QHAA), the Gold Rush Futurity and the Westerner Exposition Association assume no responsibility in case of loss or damage to persons, horses, or personal property from any cause; and only upon this condition are entries accepted. 8. The Show Management Committee reserves the right to prohibit any person or horse from showing and has the right to remove and person or horse from the grounds without be liable for compensation. 9. Any exhibitor making objection to the awarding of any of the prizes or payouts at the Canadian National QH Show, shall lodge his or her objection, in writing, immediately after the award is made, but in no case later that 14 days after the Canadian National QH Show. A deposit of $100 must accompany the objection, which is refundable, if the objection is upheld. 10. In a case of classes with a posted order of performance, any horse missing its turn will be eliminated from that class unless otherwise arranged in advance. All working orders will be posted prior to the class. (A working order will be drawn for all individual classes, including halter). 11. Should any question or dispute arise, which is not provided for in the foregoing rules, the same shall be referred to the Show Management committee whose decision is final.

12. All horses entered in the show are subject to random drug and/or tail testing. 13. Individual performance classes: All exhibitors are responsible to familiarize themselves with AQHA rule 450 regarding riding more than one horse during individual working classes. 14. Entry refunds: Refunds will be given for entries in AQHA classes only, and only upon presentation of a certificate from a veterinarian. No refunds will be given for Stabling, Futurity Fees or office charges. 15. Drug Testing: As per AQHA regulations, all horses will be subject to random drug testing. This will include urine and blood samples collected by a veterinarian. Refusal or testing constitutes disqualification form the show, forfeiture of all entry fees, prize monies and awards won.

Canadian National Point System for Awards:

Canadian National Super Horse Award A handcrafted silver and gold belt buckle will be presented to the owner of the Canadian National Super Horse winner. There is no entry fee required for the Super Horse Award but the office must be given notice that you would like to have your horse considered for the award prior to the last day of competition. Only those horses that have given notice will be considered or calculated for the award. Horses that have given notice will be considered based on their total aggregated circuit (4 judges) points under the Canadian National Point System for Awards for only their best four open division classes. Green, Amateur, Youth and Novice classes do not count toward the award. In the case of a tie, the following will be used to determine the winner: 1. The horse which received the most first place awards. 2. The horse that defeated the most horses within the four point earning classes.

HIGH POINT AMATEUR, SELECT 50 & OVER, NOVICE AMATEUR, YOUTH 13&Under, YOUTH 14-18, NOVICE YOUTH Horses must show in a minimum of three classes within their division to qualify for the High Point Award of that division. Only the points earned within that division will be counted towards the High Point Awards. (Example: Only Novice youth classes will be used in determining the Novice Youth Award. Novice youth classes will not be used in determining the Youth 13 & Under or Youth 14-18 awards) Winners receive a custom embroidered jacket, and reserve will receive a custom embroidered vest. SUPREME CHAMPION HALTER HORSE Supreme Halter Awards will be presented in Open Halter Classes for: A) Supreme Champion Halter Mare B) Supreme Champion Halter Gelding C) Supreme Champion Halter Stallion The Supreme Champion Halter Horse in each division will be awarded a monogrammed award. To be eligible for the Supreme Champion Halter Award, a horse must stand Grand Champion or Reserve Grand Champion under at least one judge. The AQHA point system used to calculate high point Halter winners will be used to calculate the Supreme Champion Halter Horse Award winners at the Canadian National Quarter Horse Show.

Reining Futurity Classes Contestants to vote on the pattern to be run in the event of a tie Judge 2 will break the tie with their vote. ALL FUTURITIES ARE ONE GO UNDER 4 JUDGES GOLD RUSH FUTURITY PAYOUTS The Purse for Each Futurity will consist of the Added Purse PLUS 90% of Entry Fees (except Office Charges) Each futurity will pay 90% of the purse based on the NSBA payout schedule (including the 3 Yr old Reining) Futurity cheques will be mailed to winners within 45 DAYS of the show completion.

Futurity Rules and Regulations GOLD RUSH FUTURITY RULES: 1. There will be one go-round with four judges per go-round. Final placing will be determined using the same point system as the Canadian Championship Awards. 2. Gold Rush Futurity classes shall be open to All Breeds. 3. Entries must be accompanied by a photocopy of the horses registration papers. 4. There is no limit to the number of horses a person may enter. Catch riders/handlers are the responsibility of the owner and must be designated prior to the go-round. 5. Once a class is being judged, no other entries will be allowed to enter the ring. 6. Any problems that may arise during the show should be discussed with the Show Manager. All rulings made by the organizing committee are final. 7. Horses may be randomly drug tested immediately following a class. Any horse found positive will be disqualified and forfeit all placings, prize money and future eligibility in the futurity. 8. Any surgical, chemical or otherwise altering of the tail is strictly prohibited. 9. Stewards have the right to refuse entry into the ring if any horse has broken skin, rawness, bleeding, or open sore. 10. Any NSF cheque will be cause for an automatic cancellation of all Gold Rush entries unless the Show Secretary receives a money order or certified cheque within seven days of notice of NSF Cheque. GOLD RUSH EQUIPMENT All horses are subject to an equipment inspection. Any horse with artificial appliances will initiate disqualification with no refund of fees. Western Equipment 1. Two Year Olds are to be shown using equipment as per NSBA rules for Two Year Old Western Pleasure 2. Three and four year olds are to be shown using equipment as per NSBA rules for Junior Western Pleasure 3. All reining horses will be shown using equipment as per NRHA rules for Junior and Senior Reining 4. If a change in equipment is requested, there will be ample time given for the change 5. Where not specified to the contrary, AQHA rules will apply English Equipment English horses are to be shown as per NSBA rules for Junior Hunter under Saddle. GOLD RUSH LONGE LINE GUIDELINES 1. Each entrant shall be allowed 1 minutes to present their horse 2. Horses will be judged under NSBA rules 3. The horse is to be shown both ways of the arena on a longe line at the walk, jog and lope. No designation on which direction is to be worked first. An announcement will be made or a whistle will be blown to indicate the half-way point. 4. Following the completion of all individual ring works, exhibitors will present their horse in their order of go. The judges may not discriminate for or against bulk, but rather, look for a total picture emphasizing balance and athletic capability. 5. Equipment restrictions: Horses must be exhibited in a halter on a longe line (maximum length of 30 feet). The longe line must hang free from the halter without touching any part of the horse. The end of the longe line must be equipped with only a snap, no chains allowed. Optional equipment includes use of a longe whip. No other equipment is acceptable. 6. The Official NSBA Longe Line Scoring sheet will be used. 7. An exhibitor may show more than one horse in each longe line class.
FUTURITY ENTRY INFORMATION 1. No telephone entries will be accepted. No cheques by be post-dated after August 11, 2011 2. Post entries in All AQHA classes will be accepted until one-hour prior to the class entering the ring. Post entries into the Gold Rush Futurities will be accepted until August 25th 12:00 at the set rate for entries after August 11, 2011 plus $100 dollars. 3. Photocopies of the horses registration papers must accompany entry forms. 4. Entries for unregistered weanlings must have a copy of the breeding certificate or, failing that, must have the registration numbers and names of the sire and dam. 5. All AQHA Open, Amateur and Youth exhibitors must provide a photocopy of their individual 2011 NSBA, AQHA, AQHYA membership cards with their entries. Membership in the Quarter Horses Association of Alberta is not required for exhibitors to show in an AQHA approved show, HOWEVER, in order to be eligible for year end awards a 2011 QHAA membership is required. 6. USA exhibitors contact a broker , at point of entry to Canada, about regulations for entry into Canada. Also, contact your veterinarian on requirements for border crossing. Make sure the dates on your papers will be valid for returning to the US. 7. VISA & MASTERCARD PAYMENTS: Entries may be paid by credit card. Cardholder signature is required.
