Working closely with the non-profit Grass River Center and Richmond Architects, our design team participated in a design charrette to discuss alternative technolgies to conventional design including graywater and wastewater treatment nutrient cycling, low-impact development stormwater systems, rainwater harvesting, passive solar orientation and building siting, as well as other technologies related to the proposed building. The project goal was to achieve a design that meet the standards set by LEED-NC and Living Building Challenge, both of which are Green design programs that promote the development of sustainable design.
