DISCUSSIONS HELD AND DECISIONS MADE BY THE INTERIM BOARD OF DIRECTORS

SUBJECT DISCUSSION ACTION? Introductions Introductions: Deborah Boyer, the Interim President, called everyone together at 8:25 am. Introductions were made.

Minutes of April 21, 2009 Interim Board meeting The minutes of the April 21st meeting were reviewed. Robert moved and Indrajit seconded that the minutes be approved as submitted. The motion to approve the minutes was approved unanimously.

Minutes of May 12, 2009 Interim Board meeting The minutes of the May 12th minutes were reviewed. This was a special Board meeting to discuss funding of the June 18th event. CJ moved and Scott seconded the approval of the minutes. The motion to approve the May 12th minutes was approved unanimously. Announcements and public comments CJ Hirschfield recapped her very successful Annual gala on June 4th saying she received great support from local restaurants particularly Pican and Ozumo. Over 300 people attended the festivities. Indrajit as ed if the DISI committee had discussed the concept of sub-districts within the CBDs. Marco stated that that discussion would occur with the creation of the DISI Strategic Plan

Financial Report The Board received the financial report which included expenses paid to June 23, 2009. Indrajit as ed about DISI Budgets and why the actual expense was significantly lower than YTD projections. Deborah responded saying that certain things needed to be in place li e the safety and maintenance ambassadors, the website, and the CBD launch Event before we could move on developing other projects and budgets to allocate additional funding. Deborah moved to approve the financial report. Mi e seconded the motion. The motion to approve the financial report was approved unanimously.

Marco and members of the Board expressed dissatisfaction that the BBB manager had not had developed a reliable communication system with Oa land PD as of this date. Aliza said that at the security meeting on June 11th she spo e to Chief Jordan and he would loo into it. She too this as a positive and supportive response Chris Curtis said that the police radio issue is primarily about getting the decision ma ers in a room and resolving the issue. Bloc by Bloc situation

Chief Jordan and the CBD Board Presidents to discuss the relationship between Bloc by Bloc and the Oa land Police Department Review of June 18th Event Helen reported that the event was extremely successful. . 12,000-15,000 people attended . Media coverage on all local channels (positive coverage related to Uptown s revitalization) . No criminal incidents reported at the event or after . OPD very pleased by the behavior of the crowd . Positive collaboration with the City of Oa land Mar eting Department. Wor ed as a team with CBD staff . Event stayed within budget of $10,000. CBD staff raised an

additional $20,000 in sponsorships

Marco added prior to the event the PR tas Force made a decision to not invest in a publicist and that the CBD s ended up getting huge PR from the events without spending any PR specific money. Next Board meeting The next meeting of the interim Board will ta e place on Tuesday, July 21st at 8:15 a.m. at the Kaiser Center, Room 300. The next meeting date, time and location were approved by consensus Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 9:55 a.m.
