0 Introduction

This document aims to show the user in a clear and concise way the operation of the online
energy monitoring tool.

The tool is designed to achieve the following objectives:

- Supply automatically and in real time information on the variables of electricity
consumption and status of one or more control systems.
- Control and optimize maintenance operations with the generation of alarms based on
the data of the control system and other systems.
- Generation of historical data reports.
- Give a flexible representation through web technology of any set of values shown as
data tables or graphics.

0.1 Access and Identification

The Web Portal is not compatible with Internet Explorer. The recommended browsers
are Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox

0.2 Web Portal Remote Access

The following steps are required to connect to the EnergyIP EEA System:

Step 1: The user must be previously identified in the url Address: https://eea.siemens.com

Step 2: In the screen will appearance the followings message to enter the user´s e-mail and
Password:

1 Data acquisition and evaluation

The data acquisition can be made in two different ways, depending of the customer service
requirements:

Real time data acquisition:

In this case the system acquires continuously data from the customer installation, from the
meters installed. In this way the values of different variables are read instantly and are sent to
the system.

The meters from which the system acquires the data could be installed by us or could be
installed previously by the customer, being able to integrate the signals of all types of models
and manufacturers of meters*
*If the meters are provided of free ports to communicate the signal to the system by Modbus RTU/TCP

Offline data acquisition:

In this case the system acquires stored past data, this could be made from production
SCADAS or other systems as SAP, CAPTOR…

The main storage characteristics are:

- It is done in NoSQL Database.

- Unlimited storage during the service.
- More than two DB copies of the data.
- Guaranteed performance as the data grows.
- Additionally statistical variables are calculated and stored as the means, maximum,
minimum and standard deviation every 5min, 15 min, ... for example. Five resolution
intervals are included for the statistical variables

1.1 Communication interfaces and data transfer techniques

The communication interfaces used in order to communicate all devices to the system are:

- Modbus RTU
- Modbus TCP
- IEC-102
- OPC-DA
Other communication protocols as IEC-104 & OPC-UA can be developed if required.

The information system is safe and reliable:

- It uses secure connections through VPN (Virtual Private Network) against two data
centers for data acquisition.
- The Internet access to create
- The Internet access to create the VPNs will be done with the existing connection in the
plant. Only a bandwidth of up and down of 256 kbps is necessary.
- The equipment will be in a dedicated VLAN to separate the monitoring traffic from
the office, production and other subnetworks that may exist.
- There are more than two DB copies of the data, where all the data is encrypted, for the
security of the data.
- The client will access the data and programming tools through the HTTPS application
protocol that is established on a secure connection between the browser and the server.

1.7 Measurement accuracy

The precision of the measurements are given by the accuracy of the installed devices and, in
the case where the customer´s own devices are being monitored, the precision factors given
by these devices already installed by them.
Data sheets and Technical Manuals of each device are available and can be downloaded
accessing to “Assets” option in the drop-down on the left:

Then we have to select a monitored point:

The system will show all the data regarding this point as follows:

The technical document regarding the analyzer used for the monitor this point can be viewed
and/or downloaded directly in the symbol indicated in the screenshot

1.8 Automatic maintenance notification system

The monitoring system has three levels of automatic notifications; it depends of the event
nature, may be for communications problems or due to data ready failures.

Case: The communication with one device is missing for a certain time.
When the system has not communication with a one measure device during a period of
time defined by the customer, the system sends e-mails to the users defined by the
customer and to the Siemens team.

Case: The ready from the system to the device is lost along a certain time.

Version 1.2, Date 08.05.2018

24
EnergyIP EEA-Energy Efficiency System (Demo)

User Guide

When the system has not communication with a one measure device during a period of
time defined by the customer, the system sends e-mails to the users defined by the
customer and to the Siemens team.

Case: The communication with a whole plant has been lost.

In this case the alarm is sent when the system identify a lost communication with a
whole plant in a period of time of 5 minutes. When this happen, the system send a
telegram to the person in charge in Siemens team

There is another functionality implemented in the system referring to the communication with
the user through which the update of events happens is carried out.
This functionality can be found in the drop-down with the name “Tickets”, this access allows
to enter the Request Tracker Application and from there manage the troubles so that there is a
history of each one of the events that occurred:

To create a new request, the user must select as first the list where is the case going to be
carrying out and then select “New ticket in”.
After that, the user is able to fulfill the request following the next steps:

Step1: Select the requestors (direct ones or in copy)

Step2: Select the status of the ticket between the followings:
- New
- Open
- Resolved
Step3: Award the ticket to someone
Step4: Describe the issue in the text box

downloaded in the same way than in the previously case:

2.4 Determination of the Time Energy Rules

With the DEMO of EnergyIP EEA system, the definition of Time Energy Rules may be done
with the “Limits” functionality and the creation of alarms may be done using “Notifier”
functionality. These functions are explained in the chapter 5 of this document.

2.5 Automated implementation of measures based on individual defined limits

and rules
The upper and lower limits indicated in the load curve, the upper one defined by the
contracted power supply and the lower defined by the customer as a reference limit, generate
automatic information when the energy consumption exceeds these limits superiorly or
inferiorly.

2.6 Prioritization of consumers or groups

The system categorizes the monitored points in the “Summary” functionality, specifically in
the table named “Summary of equipment” by clicking on the symbol in the upper right corner:

5.1 Definition of several graded limits

The “Limits” functionality of the system is the function use as the basis for creation of alarms.
This is the first step to define alarms and execute them.
This function is activated by selecting “Limits” in the drop-down on the left of the main
screen:

This function allows define fixed alarms and variables alarms, above each monitored point.

The alarms can be generated only for their visualization and control, or associated with
notifications in real time (messages activated by events) of their generation.

It allows the configuration of an unlimited numbers of standard alerts about the system
variables and their corresponding notifications.

It will be possible to generate alarms and quality statistics related to harmonic values, in
addition to the usual ones of the service.
These notifications are made by e-mail, Telegram® and/or phone calls.
Step 1: Select the period of time in which we want to check the consumption of an asset
below or above stablished limits.

The system is going to return the following result of the establishment of this power of limit
of the asset selected in the previous query:

The chart shows the limit indicated for the query with a red line, leaving above and below it
the value of the asset in the selected period of time. In addition to the chart, we will obtain a
table with periods of time exceeding 2 hours in which the asset has exceeded the
establishment limit, as follows:

6.5 Adaptation of Access rights

The Access rights are management from the operational department within Siemens. Each one
is personal, the user receives an e-mail with the credentials and an IP address to enter and
create their own password.

6.6 Ensuring reliable system operation

The information system is safe and reliable:

- It uses secure connections through VPN (Virtual Private Network) against two data
centers for data acquisition
- The internet access to create VPNs is done with existing connection in the monitoring
locations.
- The devices are connected in a dedicated VLAN to separate them monitoring traffic
from the office, production and other subnetworks that may exist.
- There are more than two DB copies of the data, where all the data is encrypted, for the
security.
- The users access the data and programming tools through the HTTPS application
protocol that is stablished on a secure connection between the browser and the server.

6.7 Intuitive usability and user-friendly design

The usability of the EnergyIP EEA system can be checked using this document, as well as the
user-friendly design of web portal can be checked directly by accessing the system as a user.

6.8 Comments for users
