 Is Pastor Jan a Seventh-day Adventist?

This is Pastor Jan’s secretary. Thank you for your good phone call the other day. Enclosed is the documentation I
promised, which you may give to those who need it, either on paper or on the internet. Our Father in heaven has blessed
much in getting the National Sunday Law books out to the world because they contain God’s three angels’ messages in such
a simple and clear way that even children can understand it. There are 31.9 million in print in 60 languages around the
world, and I’m glad to tell you that Pastor Jan has not kept a penny of any funds from the books for himself. From the
beginning, he decided that it would be used in God’s cause to help save souls.
Pastor Jan receives many invitations to speak in SDA churches and has tens of thousands of people on his mailing list to
receive his monthly letters in over 65 nations. Because of God’s blessing, a number of people have asked if he gets any
persecution. He tells them that he has been surprised because it seems that he has received none. When he wrote the NSL
book while pastoring in the Florida Conference, knowing what Sister White reveals about how malicious the harlot of Rev.
17 is - he thought that he might be murdered. But nothing happened. How can this be, since the Bible says, “All who will
live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution?” Years later he realized that in Rev. 17 it reveals that the Roman church,
the Mother of harlots, is seen riding the scarlet colored beast “in the wilderness.” In GC 55, the prophet reveals that the
“wilderness” represents “obscurity and seclusion.” This helped him understand that Rome {though “wondered after” by the
world} does much evil work in secret. In his 15 part video/DVD series, Pastor Jan has exposed how Rome is using
infiltration {according to GC 234,235} to attack all the Protestant churches as well as the nations of the world, to 1) “regain
control of the world,” 2) to “re-start persecution,” and 3) to “undo all that Protestantism has done.” GC 565,566. So he
learned that Rome would not attack him openly, but that it would be “in secret” - in such a way that almost no one would
suspect that Rome would have anything to do with it. After learning this, Pastor Jan knew that the devil would do something
“in secret,” and wondered what it might be. In this letter, I’m going to tell you - to the glory of God.
He pastored in the Florida Conference from 1978 to 1984. In 1982 he was ordained to the gospel ministry, and in 1983,
he wrote the NSL book for soul-winning. In 1984 he asked for a leave of absence to write another book. Later that year, he
received a call to the Arizona Conference, and pastored there until 1986. In that year, God opened the way for him to have a
T.V. series on 3ABN, which was being built. So he asked for another leave of absence to move to Illinois, and his series,
entitled “Revelation Now” was the first program ever aired on 3ABN. Danny and Linda Shelton, Clarence Larson, {the
chief engineer} know all about this, and were there with many of the workers that first night that 3ABN started
broadcasting. Pastor Jan also had another series on 3ABN entitled “What do Seventh-day Adventists Believe.” Danny and
Linda sat in his living room and decided on it with him and Vennita before they produced it. They reran these two series for
a long time until they had rerun them so many times that they were taken off the air. When they started playing them {back
in 1987}, they were aired four times a day, seven days a week. Because of a special arrangement, no money was charged
for this. After several years, Pastor Jan thought about making another T.V. series, but by this time, 3ABN was going to
have to charge. Though they encouraged him to do it again on 3ABN at that time, it would have cost so much that he found
that he could reach more people with more truth, cheaper, with more conversions for the money with the NSL books than
with the T.V. program. So he saved a lot of the Lord’s money, but he was happy that others could be on T.V. to witness for
Jesus.
When Pastor Jan and his family moved to Illinois, they transferred their membership to the SDA church in West
Frankfort. The pastor there {Jack Carpenter - who baptized Danny Shelton} told him that 7 SDA pastors had just been fired
[including himself] because the Conf. said they didn’t have enough money to pay them. After Pastor Jan was asked by
someone in the area if he would start a little SDA church in Benton, he told the IL. Conf. that he would be happy to pastor it
{where he still is} with no salary, and he kept his membership in West Frankfort while starting the church in Benton. A
letter is enclosed from the Illinois Conf. President approving of the new church group in Benton.
Pastor Jan knows that the papacy in Rome doesn’t care about him, but it’s the NSL books that they want to stop, because
those “little preachers” are hurting their cause - as God is using them to convert tons of Roman Catholics, as well as many
others to become faithful Seventh-day Adventists.
Since they can’t find any biblical error in the book, Rome would have to attack the author. Since Pastor Jan has always
made it clear that he’s standing in loyal defense of God’s SDA church, how would they get him illegally disfellowshiped in
a way that no one would know that Rome had anything to do with it?
The first hint of that came in 1993 when Pastor Jan’s friend, the new pastor of the West Frankfort church, let him know
that he had received orders to get him disfellowshipped {at all costs}. No reason was given. Rome doesn’t need one. The
pastor also made it clear to many in the area that he was out to destroy 3ABN. Danny and Linda Shelton remember that
well, I’m sure. Pastor Jan knew exactly what was going on, and knew that it was coming from agents with roots in Italy,
whose identity will not be known until the judgment of God. He also knew that God is always in control. He knew that
most church members would have no way of understanding such things at that time and that it wouldn’t be hard for the
pastor to hoodwink them. From the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy, he knew that this strange thing was not coming from
God’s faithful SDA people.
So Pastor Jan prayed, and God taught him what to do to thwart Rome’s plot to stop the NSL preachers from reaching
millions. Here’s what he did. 1) He contacted the godly elders of the Angwin SDA church in CA. and told them what the IL
pastor had revealed, and what was going on. 2) The Angwin SDA church contacted the IL SDA church, as you see in the
enclosed letter from the CA pastor, but they received no response. You also see that the letter from the CA pastor {in
agreement with his conference president} reveals that both the IL pastor and his church clerk were already on an illegal
course. The poor Illinois pastor {who later became senile} was carrying out his illegal orders. 3) Knowing that the Illinois
church business meeting was coming on May 12, the Angwin SDA church voted on May 8 to accept the Marcussen family
into fellowship by profession of faith. The letter from the Marcussen family is enclosed, which reveals that after they were
taken into membership of the Angwin, CA. SDA church on May 8, they requested the IL church to drop their membership
at their business meeting four days later, on May 12. The only thing the IL church could do at the business meeting was to
grant their request. Agents of Rome were hoping to be able to tell people that Pastor Jan was disfellowshipped and is not a
Seventh-day Adventist - so the NSL preachers would be hindered from going out to help save many souls and hasten the
coming of Christ, but by the grace and power of our loving God, their plot was thwarted. Praise the Lord!
Pastor Jan is a 5th generation SDA, and has been a member in good and regular standing since he was baptized at the age
of 11. He has been faithful to his vows as an ordained SDA minister since he took them at the Florida Conf. campmeeting
in 1982. Enclosed, is a copy of his ordination certificate. He is happy in his work of seeking to win many souls to Jesus,
and rejoices that his book, National Sunday Law is being used by God and His SDA people around the world in 60
languages to help save many people to be ready for Jesus soon to come.

Dear West Frankfort SDA church;

Several years ago, the church voted Pastor Jan and Vennita Marcussen into membership
by profession of faith.

Last Sabbath, May 8, 1993, the Angwin, California SDA church also voted Pastor Jan,
Vennita, and Joy Marcussen into membership by profession of faith. The elder, Dr. Bob Wood,
representing the church, then called the West Frankfort church clerk, Melody Shelton to inform
her of this so that the West Frankfort church could drop their names from the West Frankfort
SDA church.

Since no one needs to have membership in more than one SDA church at one time, this letter
is the request of Jan, Vennita, and Joy Marcussen for the West Frankfort, IL SDA church to
remove their names from their church book at your business meeting on May 12, 1993, in view
of their being voted into membership in the Angwin, CA SDA church four days earlier, on May
8, 1993.

of the Holy Spirit. Trust in God brings holier qualities of mind, so that in patience we may possess our souls. When our
will is swallowed up in the will of God, and we use His gifts to bless others, we shall find life’s burden light. He who
walks in the way of God’s commandments is walking in company with Christ, and in His love the heart is at rest. [Praise
God!]
“Those who take Christ at His word, and surrender their souls to His keeping, their lives to His ordering, will find
peace and quietude. Nothing of the world can make them sad when Jesus makes them glad by His presence. In perfect
acquiescence [surrender] there is perfect rest. The Lord says, ‘Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed
on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee.’ Isa. 26:3. Our lives may seem a tangle; but as we commit ourselves to the wise
Master Worker, He will bring out the pattern of life and character that will be to His own glory. And that character which
expresses the glory–character–of Christ will be received into the Paradise of God.
“As through Jesus we enter into rest, heaven begins here. We respond to His invitation, Come, learn of Me, and in thus
coming we begin the life eternal. Heaven is a ceaseless approaching to God through Christ. The longer we are in the
heaven of bliss, the more and still more of glory will be opened to us; and the more we know of God, the more intense
will be our happiness. But what is this compared with the hereafter? There ‘are they before the throne of God [Look at
them! There they are.] and serve Him day and night in His temple: and He that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among
them. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb
which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall
wipe away all tears from their eyes.” DA 330-332. Praise God!
“Thus in the language of one who has divine authority, Christ gives His elect church into the Father’s arms. As a
consecrated high priest He intercedes for His people. As a faithful shepherd He gathers His flock under the shadow of the
Almighty, in the strong and sure refuge. For Him [in Gethsemane and the cross of Calvary] there waits the last battle with
Satan, and He goes forth to meet it.” DA 680. Wonderful Jesus! Praise God friend! Praise God.
