COMMUNICATION TIPS: REMINDERS: Check out our facebook page at TABC Awana Club for the latest info. OR, sign up to receive a text message reminder (only for family nights and emergency cancelations). CANCELATIONS: In case of severe weather, we will also post cancellations on KVOE and KANS. If school is cancelled or dismissed early on a Wednesday, we will NOT meet. SAFETY TIPS: CHECK-IN/ CHECK-OUT: To help us provide a secured environment, please deliver your children into the building. Once the child has checked in at the attendance cart, they will be supervised by AWANA sta until the parent (or authorized person) picks up the child from the attendance cart at the end of the day. This is inconvenient, we know, but we appreciate your patience as we protect our children. PARKING LOT: We now share the parking lot with student drivers, so please carefully supervise your children once you leave the building. You may park farther south in the lot to stay out of the congestion. Although you may only enter through the north main door, you will be able to exit through any door. MEDICAL RELEASE FORM: Be sure your child has an updated and notarized medical release form on le. Keep us informed of changes in contact information or medical conditions. DONATION OPPORTUNITIES: COST: At TABC we do not charge for AWANA materials so that everyone may participate. However, donations are welcome and donation envelopes are available at the secretarys cart. ADOPT-A-CLUB: We have adopted an AWANA Club in Kenya, Africa, and provide their books, badges, and uniforms for about $6.00 a week . Parents and kids can put their donations in the collection box kept at the secretarys cart. We encourage kids to work to earn their own money they can personally share with our Kenyan club friends.
FAMILY CELEBRATION & AWARDS TIPS: MEAL: We will always provide a simple meal for your whole at 6:30pm on Family Nights. We know life can be hectic and we want to help. DEVOTIONAL ACTIVITY: It is hard with our busy lives to provide the consistent spiritual input we want in our childrens lives. So an important part of Family Nights is sharing ideas and encouraging each other on our journey. This year we will focus on 3 components of family devotions: praying together, telling Bible stories, and giving a blessing. AWARDS: Family night ends with each child taking the stage with their group and being recognized for their hard work. It takes time, but what a valuable way to encourage our kids to hide Gods word in their heart. Mark your calendar now for these important dates. PARENT VOLUNTEER TIPS: Please consider helping at AWANA once a month. Your consistent volunteering covers when regular sta need to be gone or provide extra assistance for children who need one-on-one help.
HANDBOOK TIPS: BROCHURE: When a clubber rst comes or begins a new grade, they must rst complete the appropriate brochure. After it is completed, they will receive their new book and vest/t-shirt. PACE: We recommend learning one new verse a week for most children. We also emphasize reviewing previously learned verses weekly. At TABC, we require every verse to be recited twice, on two dierent dates. This slows the kids down, but increases their retention of the verses, which we think is more important. We want the verses hidden in their hearts, not just temporarily learned to cram for the test. PARENT SIGNATURE: To encourage kids to review and learn new verses at home, we will give extra points every time a parent signs their name by a verse, indicating that the child practiced reciting that verse to the parent. HELPS: Sparks children may be given two helps as they recite their verses (Kindergarten children may also have help with the reference). T&Ts are allowed only one help.
