A research was completed about the merits and demerits of marriage of the student life of Dhaka University under

the supervision of Dr. Amran Hossain Associate Professor of the Political Science of Dhaka University.Hypothesis of this research are Marriage of student life in D.U. effects on study and shining career. Hampering on the continuation of the study operative partner makes the life dynamic by the removing all problem. University of Dhaka has established in 1921 having about 700 students. Today this institution became as a giant institution, which have more than about 32000 students. Every brilliant student cherishes to be a student of Dhaka University whose are the sample of this research. About 58% female students insisted on getting marriage under the family pressure. On the other hand only 48% male student insisted on getting marriage; this tendency proves alarming social and patriarchal values. Irrespectively about 16% and 5% female and male student got married in secondary level. Thus scenario say, a good number of D.U students got married without fulfilling age limit of marriage under Bangladeshi law, Marriage act which are 18 years for female and 21 years for male. Partner of the male student are not so much qualified as like female student. About 20% male student have taken dowry on the other hand about 9% female student have given dowry. As qualified and honored status of being D.U student very few number student have served dowry. On the other hand 20% male students have taken dowry. Both, 39% male and female student face hamper in study. The hampering of study effects student result. About 37% male student bear their expenditure which indicate how much pressure student contain considering our market structure where student have no chance to earn more money. About 70% students approximately enjoy self determination. In that case we say there is existing better position towards married student of Dhaka University rather than any other part of our existing societies. But we think female student of Dhaka University did not response 100% truly because our society is not much matured to deliver the power self determination to a female partner. Irrespectively 76% & 59% female and male student have good relationship with his/her laws house. 11% student under mental torture and about 89% student feel torture partially. About 18%

and 15% student have child being a student of Dhaka University. About 3% female students are already pressured to be housewife rather than service holder. Completing our research first and third hypothesis becomes positive and 2nd hypothesis becomes null and void. Whole searching prevail that marriage in University life is not better decision for being a successful human being in the life of the practical world.
