As a Vertical Solution Architect you will work with customers, partners, and Cisco's engineering, emerging technologies, and advisory groups to build leading edge architectures and solutions. The Vertical Solution Architect (VSA) for Hospitality requires understanding of Hospitality business processes and imperatives to develop Cisco powered solutions and technical architectures. VSAs will demonstrate Hospitality industry business acumen and specific technical knowledge of Hospitality industry priorities and trends, architecture frameworks, and solution development processes. The VSA will provide thought leadership to field account teams and stakeholders, and will partner with services, ISVs, OEMs, and system integrators, to develop solutions and provide architectural guidance to customers. In addition to leading industry relevant engagements with customer technical decision makers, the VSA partners alongside Industry Senior Advisors to drive business value engagements with Hospitality business decision makers across North America. Essential job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Lead vertically relevant, customer IT-driven engagements throughout the technical sales process Orchestrate delivery of technical deliverables in assigned Hospitality accounts throughout the business value engagement cycle Develop IT line of business relationships in assigned accounts to accelerate engagements Orchestrate SI/OEM/ISV partner/services technical activities in customer engagements Mentor field technical roles on vertical solutions, platforms, and customer considerations Collect engagement artifacts and support lead architect & solution manager development of industry solutions Present technical, solution, and business architectural messages to clients Collect competitive intelligence through customer engagements and industry events Regularly provide innovative solution ideas for consideration from customer engagements Demonstrate industry leadership through participation/influence in industry organizations or standards bodies such as Hotel Technology Next Generation (HTNG), HFTP, Gaming Standards Organization (GSA), and ARTS Support Cisco field enablement through technical communities of interest, internal publishing, and knowledge transfer Develop strong partner relationships to accelerate customer engagements and expand the Cisco solution portfolio REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Deep applied industry knowledge working for a Hospitality customer, partner, or OEM/ISV vendor Demonstrated experience working as a solution, infrastructure, or enterprise architect at a Hospitality customer or in vertically focused vendor/partner role(s) Applied understanding of industry standards such as PCI and GSA Practical knowledge of key Hospitality system infrastructure and systems to include point of service platforms, in room entertainment technologies, lodging and gaming network topologies, video surveillance and physical security systems, telephony/unified communications, mobility/wireless services Understanding of the Lodging, Gaming, and Cruise industry decision making process, and how technology is applied to optimize guest experience, operational efficiency, and quality/safety Ability to create and communicate a compelling vision to senior executives with an ability to leverage logic, experience, facts, and passion to influence others Expertise in consultative selling approaches and establishing credibility as trusted advisor Strong ability to map technology and architectures to industry business imperatives Understanding of competitive products, emerging technologies, and applicability to customer environments Strong knowledge of networking theories and concepts demonstrated through successful project execution BA/BS in a technical field is required. An advanced degree is preferred. 10+ years of industry experience or equivalent preferred PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
