Memorandum of Understanding between AIESEC UUM and Han Chiang Institutuion

To mark our first ever partnership with Han Chiang College and Han Chiang High School, a Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony was held before the Global Village carnival on 15th of July 2011 and the event took place in Han Chiang Colleges multi-purpose hall. Its all started in the early of this year when the members of AIESEC in Universiti Utara Malaysia approached the teachers of Han Chiang College and High School and presented to them the exchange projects that are running by AIESEC in Universiti Utara Malaysia. For everyones information, AIESEC in Universiti Utara Malaysia have been running two exchange projects in our campus which are the C.U.T.E. that is stand for Cultural Understanding Through Exchange and the RED Wave Initiative. Both of these projects are accepting interns from globally and the interns are here for developing the community around us as well as developing themselves. Based on the AIESEC has been established in our world ever since 1948 and AIESEC has been growing into one of the largest youths run organization in the world, these core benefits have received attention and interest from both Han Chiang College and High School. As from the exchange projects, staffs and students from both Han Chiang College and High School would receive benefits through their better understanding towards other country cultures such as the Global Village event.

From there onwards, members of AIESEC in Universiti Utara Malaysia have been following up with the management of Han Chiang College and High School and we came into consensus on having both of the exchange projects of AIESEC in Universiti Utara Malaysia in Han Chiang College and High School. In the early of July, thats the starting point for the realization of 20 interns from 14 countries for the Cultural Understanding Through Exchange and the RED Wave Initiative projects.

Global Village in Han Chiang College and High School

Global Village is a global carnival for young people from various countries to showcase their cultures. They will be given performance time to showcase his or her countries cultures. Interns from various countries are setting up dances, singing, playing music, acting or putting up performances that are best to describe their cultures. Interns from the Cultural Understanding Through Exchange (C.U.T.E.) project had organized two Global Village carnivals in Han Chiang Institution. The first Global Village carnival was organized on 15th of July 2011 in the Han Chiang Colleges multi-purpose hall. Together with the interns from the RED Wave Initiative project, the Global Village carnival ended with a blast of awesome performances and showcase of 14 countries by 20 interns. The second Global Village carnival was held in Han Chiang High School on 5th of August 2011 recently. The second Global Village marked the last day for both of the projects in Han Chiang Institution. All interns were remembered in the farewell party from the students of Han Chiang as well as the AIESEC members in the end of the Global Village. Souvenirs and appreciation certificate were given to each of the participant from both of the projects.

Dutch Ambassadors Visit
Volume 3 | Issue 2

From 1st until 5th of August, we received two special guests from Netherlands, Eva Wubbe and Nicole Lodder. They were under the Dutch Ambassadors Programme organized by AIESEC in Netherlands. The Dutch Ambassadors Programme is a unique summer programme for first and second year Dutch university students. After an intense preparation period, 20 students will get the opportunity to go abroad for 6 to 8 weeks together with another Ambassador. The tickets will all be sponsored! While abroad, the Ambassadors will represent AIESEC the Netherlands. Throughout these five days, we had shared ours and theirs good case practices. We had received training in goal settings, importance of feedback, communication process, and face to face sales training. This training was very useful to us towards our coming Member Recruitment Drive which would be scheduled in September.
