Celina Pagani-Tousignant

Celina Pagani-Tousignant is the president and founder of Normisur International, an international management consulting firm that specializes in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Community Involvement (CI), Work/Life (W/L), Diversity, and Executive Coaching. Normisur Intl has a strong global presence; her clientele includes customers in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Celinas goal is to create social change by building bridges between companies, government, NGOs, communities, and people from diverse backgrounds and forging relationships across cultural chasms. Her services include: executive briefings for senior leaders and board members, manager and worker training, project management, strategy development, organizational change management, executive coaching, facilitation, curriculum design, and speaker engagements. Born in Uruguay, South America, Celina is fluent in Spanish and French and has a working knowledge of Portuguese. She has an M.A. in Clinical Psychology, is a licensed Marriage, Family Therapist and is author of Breaking the Rules- Counseling Ethnic Minorities as well as many articles on counseling, Diversity, W/L, CSR and Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs). In 2004, Celina completed a Life Coaching Certificate at John F. Kennedy University. In 2008, she became a Certified Integral Coach through New Ventures West, an accredited coaching school located in San Francisco, California. Celinas corporate career started in 1974 when Chevron Oil Field Research in La Habra, California, hired her to work in oil recovery research. In 1976 she transferred to the Analytical Laboratory at the Chevron Refinery in Richmond, California, where she specialized in sample analysis using gas chromatography. While working for Chevron, Celina obtained her Masters in Clinical Psychology and her Marriage, Family Therapist License. In 1985, she moved to Pacific Gas & Electric Co., where she worked as a Certified Employee Assistance Professional assisting employees and managers on issues related to workforce management, and employees health and wellness. From 1993 to 1997, Celina worked as a Manager of Work/Family Initiatives at Levi Strauss & Co (LS&CO). While there, she developed human resources strategies and training programs for employees both in corporate headquarters and manufacturing plants. During her last two years at LS&CO, her position changed; she acted as a Global Health and Quality of Life Consultant in the Global Human Resources Department where she provided consulting services to LS&CO businesses around the world. In 1997, she left the company. From 1997 to 2001, through her own consulting firm, she assisted Levi with the closure of numerous U.S. plants. She was instrumental in making sure workers were treated fairly and received appropriate services during the downsizing. Celina has been working internationally since 1995 on a variety of projects. From 1996 to 1999, she helped the Servicio Mdico de la Cmara Chilena de la Construccin develop an external EAP program in Santiago, Chile. In 1997 Celina joined the faculty at the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship (BCCCC). In this capacity, she travels throughout the U.S, Canada, Latin America and Asia to

deliver courses from the centers Executive Education Program aimed at CI and CSR professionals from a wide of range U.S. and international organizations. In 2004, as faculty for BCCCC, Celina traveled to Bangkok, Thailand, to deliver executive briefings and training on CSR and Corporate Community Involvement to global CEOs, government representatives, and NGOs from Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and other South East Asian countries. From 1998 to 2006 Celina joined the faculty at the Boston College Center for Work and Family with the purpose of developing a certificate program for W/L professionals. While there, she played a significant role in several other key projects. In 2006, she facilitated a center sponsored Global Workforce Roundtable in London, with 50 representatives from 10 major global companies to discuss issues related to global diversity, womens advancement, and age as a component of talent management. In 2001 Celina became a speaker for the U.S. Department of State. Since then, she has been invited by U.S. Embassies from Argentina, Guatemala, Uruguay, Honduras, El Salvador, Ecuador, Venezuela, Bolivia, Panama, Slovenia and East Jerusalem to provide key-note speeches, training and capacity building for employers, government officials, NGOs, trade unions and graduate students on how to build effective CSR Programs, Private-Public Partnerships and Corporate Volunteer Programs. In March 2010, she conducted a digital video conference on Trends in CSR, sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in East Jerusalem. The conference was targeted for representatives of the PalTel Group Foundation, an organization founded by the PalTel Corporation, the largest employer in Palestinian Territories. In 2005, Celina was invited to join the faculty team at World at Work (WAW), an international professional organization that focuses on the design of people strategies for talent management, with the purpose of delivering courses for the existing W/L Certification Program. Celina has taught W/L courses in Brussels and South Africa. Her current focus is to teach W/L courses in the U.S. Also in 2005, she was invited to teach a class for Vincular, Pontificia Universidad Catlica de Chile, in Santiago de Chile, entitled Introduccin a la Responsabilidad Social. From 2006 to 2007, Celina completed a two-year extensive CSR training project in partnership with Tellus Institute in four Latin American countries, Peru, Brazil, Chile, and El Salvador. The project was sponsored by Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo and FORUM EMPRESA. The final phase of the project was a Train the Trainer program implemented in Mexico for executive directors of over 20 Latin American CSR organizations In 2008, she joined the Boston College Sloan Center for Aging and Work as Project Lead for Workforce Training to assist in the Centers Partner/Affiliate Engagement Strategy and the Global Initiatives 2008 2009 Colloquium Series. Since then, she has participated in two major center global studies, the Generations of Talent Study and the Health and Well-being across Ages: Global Issues-Local Solutions, a joint study sponsored by the Sloan Center and MetLife. In October 2010, she was invited by MetLife Mexico to deliver a key-note speech during the launch of the Health and Well-being across Ages: Global Issues-Local Solutions in three Mexican cities, Monterrey, Guadalajara and Mexico City. . In March 2008, Celina partnered with the Vicerrectora de Desarrollo Social, Tecnolgico de Monterrey, in Monterrey, Mexico and guided the group on how to market a newly developed CSR website and Virtual CSR Certificate Program for Latin American audiences. From 2008 to 2010 she acted as Academic Coordinator to develop curriculum, advise students and provide direction for the program. She reached over 180 students throughout Latin America during this time. In November 2009, she designed and implemented a 120 hour post graduate CSR certificate program for the Tecnolgico de Monterrey, Sedes Quito and Lima. She currently teaches at both sites and has reached a total of 50 students in both countries.

In December 2009, Celina facilitated a strategic planning session for FORUM-EMPRESA during the VII Annual BID Conference in Punta del Este, Uruguay. Most recently in March 2011, she became a Strategic Senior Advisor for the organization. In this capacity she will work closely with the executive director to provide strategic direction and make recommendations on current projects. In January 2010, she met with the members of the Board of Directors of CERES (Consejo Ecuatoriano de Responsabilidad Social) in Quito, Ecuador to facilitate their strategic planning session for 2010-11. In March 2009, Celina became faculty at the Centrum for Corporate Citizenship Deutschland (CCCD) in Berlin, Germany to design and deliver executive education courses targeted for a European audience. In 2010, she developed a class on How to Build Successful Partnerships. Later in the year, she travelled to Berlin to assist the leadership team with their strategic plan for 2010-2011. While there, she coached the executive director on how to sell the centers products and services to a corporate audience. During this trip to Germany, she gave a presentation at a conference in Cologne, on Volunteering among Older Adults. In December 2010, she wrote an article on the same topic for AmCham Germany. Currently, Celina is a Senior Consultant for AED, (Asociacin Empresarial Para el Desarrollo) in Costa Rica. She is helping the organization build the CSR capacity in the country. For the last four consecutive years, she has provided training on CSR related topics to AEDs Board of Directors, as well as more than 120 professionals coming from corporate, academia, the public sector, and civil society, and senior managers and board members from large national and international companies with operations in Costa Rica. Celina has been coaching individuals and teams for the last 20 years. She has worked with numerous corporate and private clients in the U.S. and abroad, as well as clients from nonprofits and academia. In the last three years, Celina has brought an integral approach to her coaching. She helps clients develop competencies and capacities in several domains: cognitive, emotional, somatic, relational and spiritual, as well as achieve outcomes that are specific for each person being coached. Currently she is coaching health care leaders through the Clinic Leadership Institute at UCSF Center for Health Professions. Over the years, Celina has trained over 7,000 individuals and is often sought after nationally and internationally as a key-note speaker, facilitator, educator and consultant on topics related to CSR, Community Involvement, W/L, Diversity, Leadership and Cross-Cultural Communication. She has an innate ability to reach and inspire CEOs, board members and corporate senior leaders in embracing a sustainability agenda for their companies. Celinas extensive teaching experience includes serving as an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at John F. Kennedy University where she taught courses in EAP, Cross-Cultural Counseling, Clinical Case Application and Managed Care. She has served as a member of the One Small Step Steering Committee, Co-Chair of the Friends of Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute Board at UCSF, the President of the local EAPA San Francisco Chapter, the Vice Chair of Examinations for the EACC and a member of the Advisory Board at Upwardly Global, a nonprofit organization that helps immigrant professionals with legal residency in the U.S. find jobs. In addition, from 2005 through 2010, Celina was a member of the Sloan Work and Family Network Advisory Committee at Boston College, an organization that provides information and promotes dialogue among work-family academics and researchers, the business community, and state policy makers. Currently she is a member of the Academic Committee at the Tecnolgico de Monterrey, that oversees various virtual CSR programs and she provides probono services for the development of EMPRESARSE, a webpage created to fortify PYMES in the supply chain, a project sponsored by CEMEX and Tecnolgico de Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico. In addition, Celina is a member of the Mevident Wellness Advisory Board, a start-up wellness organization that aspires to bring innovative wellness plans into the employersponsored private health insurance industry.
